Our family has used Home Helpers to care for our elderly mother/ mother-in-law for about 3 years now. We turned to them after another family member had used this agency and had been very pleased with their service, care, and professionalism. We are happy to say this agency helped us every step of the way. As our family member’s needs changed over time, Robin F, the Bireley’s (owners), and the schedulers accommodated our needs and listened to us in order to keep our family member safe and well cared for. It’s not easy to have an aging family member. Robin F was fantastic in responding to our calls and emails. She would make extra visits as we changed caregiving schedules, tried out and acquired new adaptive furniture and equipment, and worried about our family members health needs. The caregivers, for the most part, were very caring, helpful, and kind. We would highly recommend Home Helpers of Mequon to other families who are in need of caregivers. They are a trustworthy and hands-on agency who will give your family member the care he or she needs.

An important priority for our mom was to stay living in her home. This also became a priority for our family. We had contacted Home Helpers in Mequon as they are an agency with a good reputation. Our moms needs have increased as she has become much less mobile due to painful arthritis.We have found a way to meet both our moms needs and our needs as a family with help from Home Helpers. Our moms caregiver has provided both attentive personal care, conversation and companionship. Weve been very grateful for their kind and professional assistance in caring for our mom in her home, where she is most comfortable.

She is the glue that helps our mom stay in her home. Not only are the caregivers fantastic, but Robin and the nursing staff are as well. Home Helpers is an outstanding company. We have used 3 different in-home caregiving companies to take care our our aging and ill mother over the past 2 years. While they all have been very helpful we feel that Home Helpers is the most well rounded in the services they offer. Also, they are completely dedicated to providing the safest and most responsive care possible. This has been a very difficult year for safety and their protocols have worked.Our mother has many serious issues including medical, dementia and falling problems. Our Care Manager is outstanding, and because she is a nurse understands our mothers complicated health issues. She has set up a team for both our parents to meet their personal care needs, meals, laundry, and safety. She has been available on short notice to help with assessing falls and other urgent medical issues-questions. Our care manager has also been a great resource for meal and handyman services.The team of people that support our needs are resourceful and responsive. We have used both shift care for 24-7 to now 2 Live-In caregivers. It can be challenging to find the right fit and the team has addressed our concerns-questions with respect and quickly. We have had some wonderful caregivers and our live-in caregivers are well trained, experienced and very caring. Our family can rest more easily knowing that our parents are safe and happy.

When my father was able to come home from the hospital he was in an extremely delicate state initially. Your team came together to execute what I thought was nearly impossible. Over the years he has always been safe and comfortable and was not only able to rally once home but had joy and developed close relationships with many of the Helpers. Home Helpers is to be commended for several reasons. Never once did I receive a call that there would not be someone to cover. No last minute call ins, no lapse in coverage… ever. In addition, the core group of helpers who cared for my father during COVID-19 were outstanding. Dad never got COVID-19 and even up to his final hour had clear lungs. Any issues we had over the years were addressed and your management staff with Marie and the schedulers were able to rectify our issues. I think we all learned and evolved together!A special and heartfelt thank you to the following Helpers we had that should be commended. Robin, RN, not only did an outstanding job but went out of her way to help Dad, and helped us tremendously after his passing. From expert care, genuine compassion for the patient, to shopping, medicine deliveries and so many other incidentals that came up. She lovingly cleaned and cared for Dad just days before he passed ensuring his comfort when he was no longer able to communicate or even move and in a helpless state. Paula brought a lot of laughter and joy to Dad and accompanied him to many appointments and outings because thats who he trusted and had such fun with. When Dad was able to eat better, she often cooked amazing dishes for him and tried to be present on special occasions. Of late, Daisha, Darien, Taneka, Alaiya, Elaine, Charlotte and Greg were a solid and trusted crew. I have great comfort knowing Greg not only requested to work extra shifts with my Dad but went out of his way to be with him as much as possible once he went on Hospice. We have been using Home Helpers for close to a year. In that time, we have had 3 different helpers. Two that have been amazing and one we asked to switch out, which they did immediately. The helper we have now is amazing! Her name is Daisha and she is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate, bright, thoughtful, conscientious, friendly and makes me laugh every single day. Having a terminal illness, laughter is very welcomed in our house. As my disease progresses, I need more assistance and Daisha has adapted extremely well to these changes.We chose Home Helpers due to their emphasis on their employees. They have a highly skilled team that is very supportive. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend them.

A coworker of mine spoke very highly of Home Helpers when she had an immediate need for in-home care for her mom after she broke her arm.When my siblings and I noticed that Mom was not able to keep up with daily home care and personal care, we researched home care agencies and Home Helpers stood out in the crowd! We started 18 months ago with two half days-week mainly for companionship, meals, and shower assist. As Moms cognitive and mobility challenges increased, Home Helpers became a big part of her 24-7 care team with family members.Having Robin, an RN, manage Moms care plan is a definite plus. (Not all agencies have that.) She has helped guide Mom, family and caregivers through some challenging situations. Since Mom never wanted help in her home, she has been a tough sell on in home caregivers, especially as her dementia has caused personality changes. But the Home Helpers caregivers have been very sensitive to Moms needs, interests, and personality; and they all work very well with the flow of things around the house. We are especially grateful for Shelley, the caregiver who has been with Mom the longest. Her friendship, compassion, sense of humor, variety of activities, games, crafts, prayer time and patience with Mom have been such great blessings in her life. The Home Helpers office staff have excellent communication, follow through, and attention to details.

This is a letter I wrote to the Owner of Home Helpers of Mequon WI, shortly after my father passed away:Hi Tim B and team,Mark Domowicz here. Thanks for your call the other day. As promised, I am emailing to formally express my gratitude to Home Helpers in general, and specifically to the wonderful people who helped my father Paul have a comfortable life at home, during his remaining time with usI would like to speak to each person individually, as each contributed to Dads wellbeing in a unique way, such that no generalized recognition would really capture my appreciation.Debra - Two things stand out for me, about Debra. First she is always ready to do the right thing, and stands by a personal moral code that includes doing her work with pride, and speaking up when and where she sees speaking up is necessary. Her input often guided us in making good decisions for Dad, and I am so thankful for that. Second, she cared about Dad - as her charge and as a friend. This meant such reaches as sleeping on the couch to remain alert to Dads needs, being present with him during the day as he watched TV, and, amazingly, staying up all night with him the evening we raced to be home by his bedsideElena - Elena did so much to help maintain Dads best quality of life. Most apparent was her frequent special attention to his food preparation, which was very often a from-scratch, home-made, deluxe meal. This was especially lovely during the holidays, when food is so much part of the celebration. It was nice for Dad, and nice for us, that he could still participate in this way. But on a deeper level, Elena was a friend to Dad too. She cheered along with him as they watched all the important NFL-MLB-NBA-etc games together. And she discussed the news of the day with him, always a favorite topic of his. On my weekly Sunday calls to Dad, I always spoke to Elena first, and she gave me a summary that showed she was both present and engaged in Dads life. I will forever be thankful for thisLavenia - There is a real chance that a person in Dads situation could feel alone, like a burden, and like everyones afterthought. But Lavenia made sure Dad knew he had a friend and companion, and that there was a person (besides his kids) that appreciated him and saw all his greatest qualities, hidden as they were by his physical challenges. Lavenia was important to Dads emotional wellbeing - which is not a thing I would have thought to pay for, nor a thing I could have paid for even if I had thought to. It was just a thing that was and it was beautiful. Lavenia was at Dads bedside when he passed away, and I hope Dad knew it - its what he would have wanted as well. I feel blessed that she was in Dads life at the endTim L - Tim entered the picture at the very end, but we got exactly the critical guidance we needed at exactly the time we needed it. We felt so supported through the entire process, and already, looking back to how things unfolded, weve said, thank god Tim was there to ourselves multiple times for multiple reasons hope the above adequately expresses how grateful I am to have had this group of amazing souls helping my father. And to the extent that my words can be realized as formal commendations and-or bonuses of any type, well, I hope that they arThanks again Tim and crewMark

My recovery from total knee replacement this past February was made so much easier with the assistance of Home Helpers. I needed the supplemental care for post-op PT, primarily, as I am a quick surgical healer. The professionalism and friendliness of the HH staff made my recovery optimum and I could count on them. I only needed their assistance for about 2 weeks as I was able to drive then to my PT appointments. Fortunately, I was able to take care of personal needs on my own. I highly recommend HH for any level of care needed...and in my instance, it was short, but, very effective and reassuring.

My folks moved to an assisted living community here in Wisconsin from their home in Connecticut several years ago. They were in two very different situations - my mom had dementia but is physically fine. My dad was mentally sharp but unable to walk 10 steps without losing his breath. We knew we needed a greater level of support. Home Helpers to the rescue! They were able to deliver high quality caregiver support 7 x 12 hours per day. This included helping to maintain my parents apartment, offer companionship, provide personal support such as dressing and showering, and creating a variety of activities for them. They did a superb job and raised the quality of life for my parents in so many ways. We examined several care providers in the area - Tim and Laura Bireley were the key. They are both expert in senior care, dedicated to their mission, and caring in their relationships with clients, families, and care givers.
