After caring for my mother with dementia for over 7 months in my home, I moved her to Drumlin Reserve Memory Care in Cottage Grove. She has been there for over 2 years now and couldn't be more happy with the decision we made. The care she receives is great and the staff takes care of her needs very professionally. The Director and other managing staff have been very receptive to questions and making reasonable accommodations for my mother. She is in great care and I know she is safe, secure, and her needs are being met. As with any facility, there is always room for improvement and staff have always been open to suggestions or different ways of accomplishing care goals. I, or another family member, visit my mother almost every day and have never witnessed anything that would cause me to pause and question the care anyone is receiving in the facility. Your loved one will receive great care and you will have comfort in knowing they are safe in the facility. Just recently I was experiencing difficulty getting my mother approved for Medicaid. Director Travis Borchert assisted me with some questions and even offered me solutions to help find ways to bridge the gap between the time when my mother's money ran out to the time Medicaid would take over payments for her care. Travis went above and beyond with his assistance so my mother could stay in the facility without having to move her once again (Which is something you do not want to do to someone in advanced stages of dementia). Overall I would recommend the Drumlin Reserve Campus to anyone looking for a place for their love one to live.

My in-laws were moved into Drumlin. The experience my husband and his siblings had in doing so was wonderful. The staff at Drumlin has been nothing but helpful and caring! I know it brings them great piece of mind knowing their parents are being well cared for.

During COVID and the Holidays Jessica and Travis helped our very large family make sure we could zoom with our mother! We super appreciate all the extra effort to make it happen!

We were very pleased with the assistane with being able to zoom with our mother over the holidays! We are grateful for that as she, like all residents are lonely and scared with the quarantining over the last year. This has been an extremely difficult time especially for seniors that live alone! We are thankful things are changing with allowing family to visit! The only complaint I have at this time is the fact of your telephone not being answered!!! I personally have tried as many as 15 times to get someone to pick up the darn phone. VERY FRUSTRATING when we have an immediate concern about our mother,we cant be there and no one on the staff picks up the phone. Many family members have experienced the same issue repeatedly. I would love to see this change.Thank you for caring enough to ask for a review. It can only improve from here!!

This is a wonderful facility! I moved my mom (91) here from Brookdale Madison after their quality kept declining. Drumlin has new management as of May 2020, and we moved my mom moved as soon as they had an open apartment. I cant say enough about the care, reliability, and kindness of everyone at Drumlin Reserve. Its now managed by core group of people we know and trust. Earlier reviews on this site must be about the earlier management. My mom is so much safer and happier here than she was at the other (more expensive and corporate-minded) assisted living center. I recommend Drumlin Reserve without hesitation!

My mother has been at this facility for 2 years. Staff has been and continues to be honest, caring, compassionate, and professional. This is not Nursing care, nor is it memory care(although those options are nearby). But many necessary services are available. Meals(the food is great), laundry, cleaning, medication management, activities, to name a few, and all are top notch. The building is homey and there are many indoor and outdoor areas outside of apartments to socialize.Pre-covid I took many meals at my mothers table in the dining hall with her and her friends, and had great food and fellowship.Speaking of covid the protocols are in place and I feel like mom is in a safe place. Communication has been very good with residents and families and I even had a very informative Covid discussion with a corporate Capri executive. Being in lockdown has been hard on the elderly and staff is very aware and works to keep residents occupied and active. The best part of DR is their staff. A culture is entrenched of kindness, empathy, and caring which permeates the facility at all levels. Kitchen and serving staff, maintenance workers, cleaning staff, have all demonstrated their caring right alongside the aids and managers who work directly with residents. I live nearby and see these interactions daily.I recommend this facility highly.

Aster Retirement is a very nice community. We toured there while looking for a place for my loved one, and it seemed like a very nice facility with a lot of amenities. However, I think it was just a little too fancy for my loved one, and it was too far out from Madison to be practical for visiting.

My mother is a resident here. They could get a new activities director because my mother does not get along with her. They need more staff on the weekends. We chose Aster Retirement because they offer transportation to doctor and dentist appointments.

Our Senior Advisor felt our passion for taking great care of my mother-in-law. She made our visiting appointments and then followed up with us. We would recommend using A Place for Mom to anyone needing help with loved ones and feeling overwhelmed by the process.

I thought it was a five but my mom hated it. She said the food was bad and I would assume, just from my own impressions, that it was the fact that she had to eat at certain time of the day and she didn't like that. My dad needed assistance so they would have to come and get him and my mom was very insisent on having them be there at a certain time and they would be late to come get him, not overly late, just not when they were expecting him, but they only have so many people. I thought they had good care, but I wasn't there all the time and my dad wasn't there for very long either. They called me when they needed something so that was good.

Very nice place, the tour was complete and there were no questions left unanswered. I'm not sure they need that much room. I'm not sure they would be comfortable on 2nd floor.
