Doing fine now. Still in the process of unpacking, but really enjoying getting to know other residents thanks to my Ambassador. Love that I only live a few miles away from my sister and brother-in- law. The community is active and interesting. I’m sure my days will be filled with lots of good times. It did take me a long time to get my wifi and TV hooked up, but other than that it has been great.

This is the best place to live and enjoy life! My sister lived here and just loved it so much. She had activities every week day and many wonderful neighbors who became friends. Movie theater- outdoors area for gathering- bbq's just wonderful all around!

I have lived at Affinity at Covington for a year. The staff is very friendly. In a day when customer service is often nonexistent, I had a garbage disposal/drainage issue and Ed, the maintenance supervisor, had it all repaired quickly and efficiently. In addition, the company that manages wi-fi and cable, Dual Path, helped me fix a connection issue even though it had nothing to do with the things they manage. Finally, and most importantly, my dog is happy here.

My mother moved in Aug 25,2021. She has no internet in her apartment or tv service in her living room. Direct tv will not send a technician to help her. The apartment staff have her calling a help number but that can't seem to help with anything. She is 85 years old. She needs someone to come and help.. The maintenance staff can't seem to help with this situation. I would like to thank Katrina for responding so quickly to my mothers situation. She was able to get her cable and internet working Thank you very much.

Been living here over a year now and what a tumultuous time to be living anywhere right? Throughout all our worldy challenges the whole local Affinity Team continues to step up and always try to keep a positive spin on everything that happens and at the same time tries to keep us safe in this people gathering community! The management team is also very communicative on the ongoing ever changing CDC and State guidelines and how it affects the amenities here at Affinity with each and every change that occurs to Government policy! Can't wait to get back to a more normal time probably later this year when vaccine coverage is well implemented and we can use all the amenities with other households and friends as it used to be! I highly recommend moving to this Community as it truly makes you feel like a Community of friends and family instead of homeowner living where many neighbors don't care to even meet you even if you have lived there for years!!

Ive lived here for four years, since close to Affinitys opening, so have some experience with building issues, staff changes, lifestyle, etc. The current office and maintenance staff make a great team. They are patient, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely seem to enjoy working with our senior population. Since I am an active resident in this community I have regular contact with them. As someone who has worked in commercial and industrial property maintenance in the past it is very rare to find a new building without any issues. It was frustrating the first year or two here in this regard, but pretty much most issues have been resolved. Some older reviews complained about negative or controlling residents. Yes, and a few are still here - but you find these types of people in any type of housing situation. I find the vast majority of residents here are friendly, positive people, if you choose to get to know them. I am the type that says hello to even the cranky ones. The Affinity concept is a fairly new idea in the realm of senior housing: totally independent living with lots of amenity spaces for resident led events. In the first year or so, I think residents were trying to figure it out. i.e. what to do, when to do it, where to do it, how to get the word out, etc. There were people here who expected service as if we were a nursing home or assisted living. We have an active group of residents here who lead at least 30 different activities. We also spearhead weekly foodbank donations, annual clothing and sock drive for shelters and the homeless, a resident newsletter, and we just had our first annual 5k walk-a-thon. (Walking 12 laps on a floor equals approximately 5 kilometers.) There were trade-offs moving from a single house into an apartment building, and I came here accepting this. Less personal living space, noise from other people, I cant crank up the stereo, etc. But, I dont have to clean gutters, fix blown down fences, clean outdoor furniture in preparation for warmer weather, etc. We are a neighborhood here. I get to socialize any time day or night without having to drive. I dont have to go out in the elements to borrow a cup of sugar. I just retired last year and mom lives with me. She just celebrated her 90th birthday recently. While I was still working she made new friends here, and she loves the fitness center, or taking several walks a day inside or out. In nice weather, she appreciates being able to walk to the grocery or drug store. I have never regretted selling my house and moving into Affinity.

Affinity at Covington is an independent 55+ complex. My husband and I moved here 3 years ago. We love it because of the amenities, the office friendly personnel, the location and the convenience of being with family and close to doctors. The family was happy and love the idea that we live in a secure independent place that is close to everything including family. When my husband passed away, the office personnel was very compassionate and went out of their way to help both myself and my family. The residents were very sympathetic and also concerned about my comfort. I am going to continue living because I feel like the office personnel and residents are my second family. Give this place a call - it might become your family too.

I just had a wonderful conversation with Katrina at Affinity, she was a breath of fresh air. Sometimes you need a little pick me up during these times, to remind you everything will be ok. All of us are experiencing Covid-19 together along with the division going on in politics, and it can be a little discouraging, not being able to visit or hold love ones as often. What we can do is take advantage of the opportunity to love on those in our community, turn the lemon into lemonade. Contribute our light, in what at times can seem like a dark world, we live in. As a community we can all get through it together, by treating those around us how we want to be treated. Blessings, love, and healing to all affected.

i feel so priveledged to live at Affinity COVINGTON, WASHINGTON !!! The apt Im in is so just what I need to feel comfortable and safe. One of the other great things here about my apartment is that there are evergreen trees and maple trees too that are all around out every one of our windows in the middle of the city. I like my little garden plot tooooo sooo much !!! Never knew Id get the physiological feelings in a little garden plot that I got in my yard. I like getting to know ppl and having ppl genuinely care The staff here works well together and they do all they can to meet the nee ds of Us the residents. And they really cAre about us and it shows. Even tho we are in this pandemic. There is still fun to be had in the perimeters of keeping us and everyone safe. There are people here who want help Me if I ask as I do not drive I cant say enough about how being here helps me I like how fred Meyers. Safeway. Walmart Kholes. Rite aid. Walgreens ect and lotsa restraints and fast food too. Also we have a work out room and salt water pool and a hot tub Game rooms. billiards. a pub. Craft room and even more. Come check us out sometime.

The service is quick and good. The staff is very friendly. 99.9%of the residents are, too. The ones who are not I seldom see. You can be as social or private as you like. Theres a lot of social activities. There are even tenant meetings so staff can here about issues. Vehicles are stored in a secured location which is nice, and the building is secure so no door to door sales folks. Ive lived for the last two years and plan to stick around.

Affinity not only feels like home, it is our home. We just renewed our lease!! It is fall, but our planted summer flowers are beautiful and still in bloom on our apartment patio deck. We are now picking the last of our tomatoes from our garden plot, area that is provided in the facility courtyard. We lived 35years in our last house then moved to an apartment--moving to Affinity last year has made this transition very easy and meeting many new acquaintances and friends surely has helped. Management has been good at keeping Covid-safe activities going as we look forward to singing in choir again and maybe water aerobics among other things offered when things start to shift back to normal. A BONUS- Entire staff is here is family--very nice, friendly and helpful---We are truly Thankful and Blessed to be living here.

I have lived at AffinityCovington since September 2016. Prior to that I had spent 9 years at a very nice apartment complex though had no people my age to get to know. I was in a state of depression which was getting deeper. When I moved to AffinityCovington that veil of depression began to lift. The first weekend I began meeting new people. One gentleman even helped me find my parking space who in the basement garage. Covered and inside parking, FANTASTIC! The staff were welcoming even before I moved in. When I applied and was accepted I began to feel a part of the Affinity family. I had learned to adappt to apartment living 9 years prior when I sold my home. So, I knew most of the community living dos and do nots prior to my move. I began making friends only days after my move in. Bingo was my first group activity and is still a fav. I love living at Affinity and hope to be here until my dying day. My friends and family outside of Affinity noticed I was much happier right away. Learning names took a bit of time and concentration, but Im now able to spot new residents, and welcome them as I was welcomed my very first weekend. The elevator is my spot for meeting new people, as well as activities. Wow, that is a big plus for the staff. Every month we have multiple activities to choose from. Here you choose what activity or activities with which you want to participate. Picking and choosing is fun. We have a great party planner, thanks Barb, and special resident activities are much appreciated. Summer in February was our most recent.. I love playing Hand and Foot, a form of Canasta. We have a wonderful group who play nearly every night. Im now learning Majong. Our card group went to a German restaurant last week, which was so fun. As with any community, there are always those who are not happy. But, on the whole AffinityCovington is a FRIENDLY and VERY ACTIVE retirement community. And, I love all my new friends here! Thank you Affinity for being such a great place for me to spend my retirement years!

Desiree is there To impose, That employees Stay on their toes. Wendy assists, she makes a long list to make sure no one will have woes. Alexis, we think Youre just great. To fix problems You dont hesitate. Without any fuss, You are special to us. At the top of the class You do rate. If theres any repairs That we need, Mike is the one Who pays heed. He handles the task, Thats all that we ask, To plunge with a lunge Is his creed. Dilly Dallys The name of the pub, On Fridays, It turns into the hub, Where residents meet, Its really a treat. I have lived here for 2 1, 2 years. It was quite a nightmare at first. Management was not prepared to have people move in. I had to have all fuses in apt replaced as they were defective. Management let a few residents control the place. It made it very difficult to live here. We now have new management and things are much better. I love the pool and gym. It is very quiet and the people are very nice.

Best move I made. When I sold my house over 2 years ago. I live in the heart of Covington. Affinity is giving me the opportunity to mingle with my neighbors and made many friends. We have been a Resident of The Affinity Covington into our second year. When we downsized from a very large house to a much smaller apartment, we thought it would be a major adjustment for us and our pets, but it wasnt. Relocating to the Affinity Covington was one of the best moves we ever made for so many reasons: 1. Our Apartment - Our 2- bedroom 2- bath was perfect for our needs fitting all our furniture we brought with us, and nicely accommodates our pets. - The Apartment rent includes ALL utilities (less your phone), and an under- cover secure parking stall. This was a major plus for us. - For an additional monthly fee, you can add an additional parking stall, storage locker, and, or have up to three pets. 2. The Staff - Management has been extremely friendly and supportive of the residents needs. They hold monthly meetings with the residents to address any issues or concerns we have. - The maintenance staff is currently second to none. They are responsive (same day or within a few days). Small problems are fixed right away, and larger issues depend on availability of parts. They make every effort to resolve the issues. 3. The Facility: - The facility is locked and secure access with the office monitoring the main entrance during regular office hours, and an off- hour security service conducting surveillance. Mail Boxes are secure inside the building, and all package deliveries are to your front door. - Affinity also has a guest suite you can reserve for your out-of-town guests at a reasonable price that is a fully furnished 1-Bedroom Suite. 4. The Amenities - There are SO MANY: Movie Theater with popcorn machine and movie library, Internet Café w, free coffee and lattes, Daylight Lounge with fireplace, Library with Fireplace, Outdoor Barbeque with sink, refrigerator, tables and cooking utensils, Outdoor Gas Fire Pit, Community Planter Boxes for gardening, Dog Run with a Fido Station, Exercise Room, Workshop, Indoor Heated Saltwater Pool with Spa and Shower Area, Card Room, Dilly Dally PUB, Craft Room, Billiard Table and Shuffle Board, Lanai with tables, chairs, and outdoor heaters, and a Dining Room you can reserve for private events that includes stove, refrigerator, and all the extras to cook a complete meal. - Affinity Sponsored Events: Every month The Affinity Staff Sponsor Events tailored to the month, season where they provide food and drink for the residents. - A Prepared Food Delivery Service comes in twice a month you can purchase a variety of items. 5. Our fellow Residents - This 55+ Independent Living Community has many friendly active residents who participate in many of the Affinity and Resident Sponsored Events. All are welcome, and many friendships are established. You can join in on as many or as few of the events as you want. - There are many Resident-Sponsored-Events that include: Arts and Crafts, Bingo, Bible Study, Book Club, Card Games, Chess, Pool Tournaments, Water Aerobics, and Resident get-togethers to name a few. 6. Location – Location – Location a. Located in the heart of Covington we are literally walking distance from anything we need. There are Restaurants, Pharmacies, Medical Facilities, Grocery Stores, Clothing, Furniture, Banking, and many other outlets. As you know, no place is perfect when you are living among so many people. We have found that many of our fellow residents are friendly and welcoming. There are those who prefer not to engage, and we respect their privacy. There are those who are argumentative and aggressive by nature, and we choose to avoid rather than engage in conflict. Thankfully there are very few of those individuals here. Affinity Covington is a 55+ Independent Living Community, not an assisted living facility. It is a cheaper alternative to assisted living, so residents and their families should not expect the management to be their caretakers. Choose wisely. In summary, any place you choose to live will have its good and bad points. For us, with all the wonderful reasons listed above, we are glad to have chosen Affinity Covington for our home.
