In November of last year, I placed my partner at Franklin Park TPC. I had to move him from a facility where he was not getting the care that I felt he needed and deserved. I toured so many facilities before finding Franklin Park TPC. I met three times with Jackie, the Director of Nursing. We went through pages of questions I had prepared after learning what to look for and what was important. She was very impressive, caring, knowledgeable, and professional. If you need a home for your loved one, I recommend Franklin Park TPC for the following reasons:STAFF- The staff are well trained, kind, loving, and involved. There are a lot of tenured staff which indicates they like being a part of the FP TPC family. I have spoken with them, they love the residents, the family environment, and the mission of Franklin Park. There is even a family of sisters, all in nursing school, with each of them taking their turn to work at Franklin Park. That tells you this is a place that is truly special.FACILITY- The facility is well designed. It is open, bright, cheery, and filled with touches of home. Blinds are opened each morning to let in the light.Living rooms are warm and inviting. The courtyard allows for great visitation and time for Robert to enjoy the sunshine. Lots of places to walk and gather outside. The residential rooms are warm and comfortable. There is a window box at the entry to the room where you can place items that tell a story of your loved one.ENVIRONMENT- I have found Franklin Part TPC to be the kind of place that provides a nurturing and loving environment. Activities are specifically designed to the resident. While Robert is limited in what he can do, the staff ensure he is a part of what is happening each day. The wing is quiet. You wont find televisions or loud music blaring. You will find a home here. You will find comfort.LEADERSHIP: There is accountability at Franklin Park. The director and assistant director are there each day working with the team. They invest in ongoing training. It is not just a bullet point on a flyer, they do it. They are well versed on all state and local regulations. Everyone is part of the team and respected. I receive monthly communication keeping me up to date.PEACE OF MIND: Lastly, and this is so important. This is such a difficult road for those that find yourselves on it. I know Robert is loved and well cared for. I know when I go to bed, he is safe, and surrounded by people who care and are trained to take care of him. I have seen it first hand. If there were an option to give it more stars, I would. They took us when we were at our lowest point and gave us hope and Peace of Mind. We are grateful. Thank you, Jackie, Wendy, David, Andrew, Mariana, Kyla, Claudia, Robin, Gera, Stormy, JoAnn, Maria, Mary, Katriana, Miguel, Katie, Graciele, Kalli, Donna, Jayme, Annie, Charles, and Dana.

I moved my father to San Antonio from New Orleans into Franklin Park Independent Living. He was initially nervous about living in an independent living community, but that only lasted about a week, because he loved it. Everyone there is like a family, from the residents to the staff (who are awesome), who went above and beyond to not only help him, but they actually became friends. My dads only regret was not moving in sooner. My father was always treated with dignity and respect, there is an on-site doctor and nursing staff, and the food is prepared by chefs. My dad always said the food is amazing, and never missed a meal. The buildings are always very clean, and the maintenance is spot on to fix anything he ever needed. Some of the activities offered are poker nights, social hours in the evening with live music, holiday parties, movies, bingo, a pool, outings to HEB, Walmart, Walgreens, and dining outs. I would highly recommend Franklin Park for independent living. I would like to thank everyone at Franklin Park, especially Kelly, Linnette, Tammy, and the entire staff for helping my father (Charlie) enjoy his final years.

My mom and stepfather lived here for the past 5 years and they both had wonderful care. The staff was really helpful with the increased levels of care for my stepfather and were very accommodating to both him and my mother. After my stepfather passed, the staff was like family. The caregivers and managers would constantly check on my mother to make sure she was okay and see if she needed anything. The staff really went the extra mile to provide the best care possible for the both of them and I thank them so much for everything they have done for my family.

My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimers 9 years ago. I placed my mom in memory care at Franklin Park TPC almost 8 years ago now. Shes received wonderful care from knowledgeable and compassionate aides and nurses. The Franklin Park community has been a blessing to my mother and our family. They have made what is a very difficult journey a lighter load to carry.

When I arrived, I was very afraid that I should have stayed at home and hired a housekeeper because I can no longer do those things. But the more Franklin Park staff I met the more I was assured that this would be the place that I select. I was looking at several other communities. Within days I realized I made the right choice. I intend to stay here. I love all the management; the Executive Director , all the directors, and all their staff. How professional and how very smart they are about what seniors need and do not need. I made the right choice and I am very happy with that choice.

My parents became residents of Franklin Park Assisted Living TPC in the Fall of 2012. My mother passed away shortly thereafter. My dad was a resident at FP TPC for 7 years until he passed away last December at the age of 92. Since my dad liked Franklin Park so well, my husband and I thought it best for my mother-in-law to also move to Franklin Park. Not long after her stay in Assisted Living, she was moved to Memory Care. Shes happy as can be. The fact that Ive had 3 family members living at Franklin Park for more than seven years, speaks for itself. However, I would be remiss if I did not mention Laura, Susan, Jackie, Donna, Jonathan, as well as the Caregivers and Medtechs who continue to show genuine care and compassion to my family. There is a peace and comfort in knowing my loved one is being so well taken care of. Many thanks and much gratitude Franklin Park TPC!

My parents are residents in the Assisted Living side of Franklin Park TPC. I have been very pleased with the care. My mom actually refers to the staff as her girls. The nursing staff has been professional, caring and always willing to take our calls (anytime of day or night). COVID 19 and all of the regulations have been difficult since we cannot see them, however, it is comforting knowing that they are safe. I would recommend this facility.

No memory care facility will ever get a 5 star from me because I always want perfection for my mother. But Franklin Park TPC tries diligently to help me meet my goals for mother: safety, comfort, and happiness. There does seem to be turnover within the caregiver ranks but, really, it takes a special kind of person to do this work. Some caregivers are better than others but FP has been hiring and my mother has gotten some caregivers that are so loving and compassionate. They make it possible for me to leave mom every day knowing she will be cared for. When I have an issue, I report it to the director. I know they look for ways to resolve it when I see changes. The memory care director is also pretty responsive and has helped me find good resources for mom. She also gives me ideas and facilitates improvements to moms room to make it more safe. Today she came to talk to me about some products that might make mom more comfortable and save some money. The food services for memory care are not as flexible as in assisted living but, again, when I have issues with moms meals, I contact the food service manager and he works with me to correct it. I taste my moms food and I have rarely tasted anything in the 14 months shes been here that wasnt quite tasty.I see my mother every day and really hate it when I have to miss any days let alone a week or more for a vacation. But one of the staff members helped me with that. I send mom video messages every day Im gone via his phone and he brings them to her so she can see Im thinking if her. And he sends me videos back! This means the world to me.Memory care activities are really vital to my moms happiness. She likes the drummer that brings in his instruments for the residents to drum music at his direction. She enjoys the animal experts that brings in creatures from snakes to llamas! And she is a regular winner at the three weekly bingo sessions. She also participates in exercise sessions in her community...I even participate in those! I wouldnt be able to provide all this if I tried to keep her at home.t is difficult to get thru to memory care by telephone, especially towards the end of the day and after hours. But I contacted the new director of FP TPC about this and he is working on a backup system. All of these people I contact or report issues to have given me their mobile phone numbers and usually answer a text within an hour unless its the weekend. They encourage me to let them know how things can work better and do try to improve services. I appreciate thato place is good enough for mom or will get it perfect. Weve had some major ups and downs as my mother AND I have gotten adjusted to her living in a memory care facility. I sometimes feel trapped learning that major changes to moms environment can trigger decline in her condition. But by working with the Franklin Park TPC management and caregivers, I have, over this past year, become more comforted that they are doing their best and looking for ways to ensure that my mother stays safe, comfortable, and happy. I think thats what we all want for our loved ones.

My mother-in-law has been at Franklin Park for about five years. She loves living there. Shes always telling us how much she loves her room, and how its the best room there. When were away from Franklin Park for our brief outings, shes always ready to go back home, when we approach her home she likes to say living with style. She loves the care-givers, its so obvious by their relationship. They treat her with such kindness and patience, its obviously more than just a job to them. She feels the same way about them too. While we do manage to see her many days each week, well never spend the time with her that the caregivers do. Theyre always attentive and responsive to whatever we ask; and always with a smile. Over the five years weve met everyone from those that prepare the food and clean the floors to Kelly Ainsworth the Executive Director; and all of them know my mom and care about her comfort and well-being. Even though shes in memory care, she knows whats going on around her, and was able to tell us how unhappy she was at the home she lived in prior to Franklin Park. Thanks to all the people that I never get to thank for making Franklin Park a place where mom and her children have confidence that shes getting very good care. Thank you, Gerald

My 87 year old mom and I have lived at Franklin Park TPC for over a year and we have had the best experience and the whole staff is always very accommodating. We have found the maintenance staff amazing and they have made our home a joy to live in. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place for seniors who want to live in a senior independent living community.

From Judy Gellhausen: My late father moved to Franklin Park-Encino Commons in mid-2018 after residing in an independent living facility for a few years. He had dementia which was progressing and I was deeply concerned about his safety and ability to care for himself. Although initially resistant to change and adamant that he did not need any help, my father rapidly adapted to his new environment, largely due to the outstanding staff and services offered at Franklin Park. The entire staff (including but not limited to caretakers, nurses, front desk staff, dining room, housekeeping, and activities coordinator) treated my father with kindness, patience, and respect. My fathers short-term memory was poor but not once did I ever see anyone lose patience with him or become frustrated. On the contrary, several staff and employees went out of their way to converse and interact with my father. He signed up for virtually every activity, event, and outing and always had a wonderful time. After only a few months there, my father suffered a severe stroke and it was apparent he would not recover. My father returned to Franklin Park on hospice care and spent the last few days of his life in his beloved apartment receiving attentive and loving care. He was almost 89 years old and had a wonderful life. My Franklin Park experience does not end there, however! My mother had been in a different assisted living facility for 8 years following a very debilitating stroke. Just two months after my fathers death, it became apparent that I would have to move my mother out of her assisted living facility for various reasons. There was absolutely no question in my mind as to where she should live! My mother has now been a resident at Franklin Park- Encino Commons for one year and she is thriving and happier than I have seen her in years! She has been on and off hospice care depending on her health and the nurses are very much advocates for her to receive the best care available. There is easy and open communication with the nursing staff, caretakers, and support staff. I visit her on a daily basis and am always impressed by the care and attention I see provided not only to my mother, but to all the residents. It is such a blessing to know that my mother is being cared for so well.

As a past resident at two other Independent Living facilities I can categorically state that the staff at Franklin Park TPC is outstanding in every respect.Very notably are the cooks and servers. From day one they strive to not only learn your name but your food preferences; this is most gratifying especially for those of us with restrictive dietary needs. My wife and I moved here from an independent living facility. After over 12 years as my wifes primary caregiver, my family and I shopped for places where she could be in Memory Care and I in Independent Living. Franklin Park Memory Care is a short walk from me and is providing very good services. One service available here that was not an initial consideration but since proven invaluable is a PCP with excellent geriatic experience has an office in our building.

My Mom has been an Franklin Park, TPC for 5 years in the Memory Care Facility. She has been happy here from the start and her love for her room and the staff have only grown over the years. She considers the staff her friends and Franklin Park her home. I take her out several times a week for outings and she is always happy to be back. She tells me she has the best room in the building. She thanks me each time, not for taking her out, but for finding her such a nice place to live. All this has taken such a tremendous burden off me as I felt so guilty all the time at the previous facility she was at. I knew she was not happy, she wanted to go home all the time and cried when I left. Now I know I can leave her with a smile on her face until the next time I visit. I know she will be treated kindly and with respect. You cannot ask for more than that for your loved one.

On a personal level.... you will have employees that love their jobs and ones that dont... The ones that hate their jobs will make comments to ruin future employee experiences and post negative remarks to make the company look horrible.... We should pray for those ppl.... I want to share my experience..... I started with a staffing company and have then transferred to Franklin Park TPC has a permanent employee as of February 14, 2019. I have never been so impressed with a management team and leadership that focuses mainly on their employees. FP motto is if you take care of your employees, the employees will be happy and take good care of their customers. I am proud to say that i am very happy to be apart of this amazing team and recommend any available job to seeking candidates.
