I love Ventura Place such a great staff!

In the past couple weeks we had to move my father into a different home. The process was overwhelming for many reasons. Ventura was one of many options we looked into. We met with Chana and she took the time to listen to our story and explain how she could help. She was patient, kind and supportive. Chana walked us through the property but most important she helped us through the process of a new home for dad. She was available by phone and text. She amazed us with her knowledge of the residents and even the pets. She amazed us with her compassion. Everyone we have met at Ventura has been great. Oh, and my dad would say the food is great too!

I moved my parents into Ventura March 2021, and they have loved it there. They have a lovely 2-bedroom apartment with a wraparound balcony. The staff is very caring, and they personally know each of the residents and greet them every time they see them. I have eaten with my parents several times and the food is very tasty. They have a menu that offers 3 options at each meal. There is a nice library, theater room, game room and activity room. Each day they have activities that keep the residents busy.

My mother is there now. It is exactly perfect for her. Her name is Laverne and she loves it. I visit her periodically and Im very impressed. Thank yall so much for helping the people that are the reason myself and others are here. God bless.

We were concerned with my mom moving out of her house into a Senior Center, but Ventura Place as met All of Our Expectations & More!!! I met with Matt Townley today and was impressed with the homey feeling when I walked in. The open floor plan of the dining room and activity rooms makes it feel like you are home. Matt knew everyone he crossed paths with. The building looks and smells clean and pleasant. The rooms are spacious. The grounds are impressive as well. I look forward to possibly working with Matt and the other staff to get my family situated there. Thanks Matt!

I visited my Aunt and Uncle who just moved in. I was surprised! I thought it was like a nursing home, its more like a mini resort. I would live there myself. Everyone was nice and seemed very happy. I didnt see everything but what I saw was beautiful! My Aunt and Uncle are happier then I have seen them for years. Their apartment is perfect for the two of them. My cousins are excited to go on vacation this summer and not have to worry about their parents. I would recommend anyone looking for a way to make life easier for older family members to check out Ventura.

This is the place to live !! Relaxed atmosphere .Great selection of room floor plans, along with selection of cottages..The management is attentive and caring of residents needs.I found it a relief not to be to be burdened with the extra cost of home ownership (taxes insurances, repairs) )I like the idea that what your Ventura Place fees , covers --everything--is covered, In house bus service gets you to all appointments and shopping needs Also having three mealsa day served to your table is a big plus.If you are thing of relaxed living , come check out Ventura place.

I was living out of my car when I called A Place for Mom. I told them I wanted a cheap place. They recommended Ventura Place. So , here I am. This is this is the lap of luxury, I had never experienced this level of care. I am really glad I found this place.

My mother has lived at Ventura Place on two separate occasions. Once was after the death of her first husband. She lived there only a few months before remarrying and moving back into her home. After the death of her second husband, she moved back into Ventura and has lived there for about six months now. She chose to move back into Ventura because of the homey feel and excellent food. She has a small one bedroom apartment that includes a combined living room, kitchen and dining area. She furnished her own apartment. Included in her apartment were blinds, a small refrigerator, and cable television.. She pays for her own telephone. Cleaning is provided for her once a week and she can do her own laundry down the hall in the washers and dryers provided. The staff has been generally friendly, but unresponsive at times. Ive asked for extra keys and never got them and when I requested extermination service, it was never done. Other small maintenance problems were finally addressed, but took some time. The facility is generally clean but could use a fresh coat of paint and an extra run by the vacuum on some hallways and stairs. Also, Ventura is a three story facility with long hallways and only one elevator, so its important to consider how confident your loved one is walking or using a power chair or scooter to get to and from dining and activities. Ventura provides limited transportation via a small bus. Residents can sign up to use the bus to go to appointments, but getting to and from you destination can be slow as you are riding with a number of residents. Meals have been very good, but dining can be slow. Mom and I often wish for an alternate buffet set up for those who dont want to sit through long meals that can run well over an hour and sometimes two. Residents can have trays brought to their rooms for a fee. Ventura has an activity director but activities are pretty much limited to things such as bingo, cards and a few singing groups being brought in. They do have an exercise class, but Mom doesnt participate. A home health care business is located within Ventura and can assist residents with anything from filling their pill boxes to physical therapy. Residents must be able to take care of themselves though or they will be asked to leave. Mom pays somewhat less than $3000 per month for her apartment. We anticipate yearly rent increases. The staff often complains that there is not enough money and this can be upsetting to Mom as the facility seems full and rent is relatively high here. Ventura is also a training facility for assistant mangers. This is good because new managers are eager to please, but difficult when they leave on residents who have bonded with them. On the whole , Mom seems happy here and will probably stay unless rates increase more than we expect.As an update, we had to move my mother to an assisted care facility after about 2 1, 2 years at Ventura. As I mentioned, Ventura, is an independent living facility, and although it might be possible to age in place there, it can be difficult and costly. A home health agency is located on site but adding these services to deliver medications, bathing, and transferring to meals can get expensive. When your loved one is at the point of needing multiple services, they are probably better off in assisted living.
