Mom had been in the hospital for about a month with some serious problems. Doctors advised she needed to leave her home and go to skilled nursing. I did not think the level they insisted was necessary, and chose a more relaxed peaceful environment. My selection has EXCEEDED my expectations. The progress the staff has made with her is amazing. Everyday is an improvement and everyday I see a comfort in her face that she feels safe, feels respected, and feels cared for.. I would HIGHLY recommend this style of senior living over a larger campus. Mom is proof of the winning dynamics.

We placed my beloved uncle at Sage Oak when he could no longer live alone. In this difficult staffing crunch they maintained consistent personnel who were incredibly compassionate and took amazing care of my uncle. Each time I went to visit, everyone was excited to see me and my family. The home smelled nice and often of the meal recently prepared. My uncle was always clean, groomed and dressed appropriately for the day. The staff frequently sent photos and updates when I could not make it by to see him. At his end of life, everyone was attentive to his needs and pain management. Despite his bed bound condition, he did not develop bed sores or other common complications further proving the staff’s unwavering dedication to care and attention to detail. They truly loved him.

I sincerely wish we'd discovered Sage Oak Communities when we began this journey with our mother. She was diagnosed with dementia several years ago, and the residences she's lived in since moving out of her house treated her like, well, someone with dementia and not like the person she is. There are plenty of examples but I'm not here for that. Since mom moved into the Aberdeen house, she has been so much more herself, it's difficult to describe. I'm here to thank the owner and management of Sage Oak Communities for creating an atmosphere and training staff to support the residents in such a way that they can thrive rather than exist. I'm here especially to thank the staff at Aberdeen house for the care and respect they show mom. Thank you all. We are very, very grateful!

My almost 94-year old mother has been a resident at a Sage Oak location for about 6 months. We have had a wonderful experience with the management, care-givers, and facility. It is truly a boutique residential assisted living plus facility. The care-givers have a servant heart for the residents and the management team is super-responsive to requests and questions. The food quality greatly exceeds the more industrial arrangements of many assisted living facilities. Operating an assisted living plus facility under normal conditions has its own unique challenges, but Sage Oak has done a phenomenal job with the added challenges imposed by Covid. I would highly recommend anyone needing AL or AL plus care for their loved one to consider Sage Oak.

Loe Hornbuckle and the care team at Preston Hollow Sage Oak are truly angels on earth. It was so difficult finding the right fit for my Dad. We had to move him 3 times due to poor care, staff neglect, and a number of other issues. It was so relieving to find the perfect place where my Dad could live out his remaining days and go peacefully in a place he was comfortable. The Preston Hollow home is architecturally designed and had wide open space for my Dads scooter. He loved the freedom of going outside and admired the stonework, something he and my mom did by hand at their home. I only wish we had found it sooner. I highly recommend Loe and his care team.

My brother and I both live out of state. When Mom needed 24 hour care, it was suggested by hospice we look for a group home setting. After looking at different facilities we came upon Sage Oak, Aberdeen, and what a sense of relief we felt! The neighborhood is very nice...friendly neighbors, well tended yards and maintained homes. The house itself is inviting, open, clean, spacious with lots of natural lighting and a nice back yard area. The best part is the care givers are all friendly and well trained and the residents were well taken care of. There was a level of engagement I didnt see anywhere else. All questions were answered and it was always easy to walk in and visit or talk with mom whether it was us or her who initiated the call. Thank you, everyone!

The caregiver team at the Creighton house has been amazing with my mom. They are attentive, caring, communicative and kind and I feel lucky to have found this home for my mom. They do an amazing job of knowing what each resident enjoys and trying to make sure they feel the best they can at all times. In my experience this is very rare. I have been in just about every setting in the geriatric healthcare field and I have never seen anything even close to the level of care provided by Sage Oak. You are doing yourself and you family a disservice if you dont check them out.

I live in AZ and needed some advice on my grandmother who recently was moved to assisted living memory care and I needed advice. Loe was kind and compassionate about my situation, offered ways to help and or facilitate help and provided education on dymentia and other diseases. Loe even connected me with someone in my area that I can discuss my situation with to determine if my grandmother is in the place she needs to be to have the best quality of life for her remaining days. Loe also provided me with information on a book to read regarding how to deal with these diseases in your family members. I am grateful for Loe and his time. He definitely didnt need to take my call, but offered it in my time of need. I know your family member will be in good hands at Sage Oak, because he took such care for me just with a phone call.

After my mothers home flooded during Harvey, I decided to move her to Dallas. I visited several homes and found Sage Oak Assisted Living at the Creighton location. It was just what we were looking for. She has been there since December and the staff is wonderful with her. I feel the smaller setting feels more like a home than an institution. The manager, Crystal runs the home with love and it shows.Each of the staff interact with the residents and have a high standard of care. I love having my mother close by and taken care of when I am not there.

My mother lived ar the Sage Oaks Creighton house for a year. The house manager and the staff were wonderful with her. My mother had uncommon issues compared to the other residents and the staff took the time to understand her and help her. The house is cleaned everyday and the food is homemade. The house is very busy with families visiting and therapists and nurses coming and going. The house has a nice feel to it. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice home for their loved one.

I moved my 91-year-old mother to the Sage Oak - Mockingbird home last November. It ranks among the best decisions I have ever made. Loe Hornbuckle and his team have created a wonderful environment for people at this stage of their lives. When I visited one incredibly cold winter day, the house felt warm, cozy and clean. I know that my mother receives far more attention and assistance at Sage Oak than she would in a large assisted-living facility. While there is some variability among the caregivers in their knowledge and interpersonal skills, most are very good, especially the house managers, and I have never been disappointed with the care she has received. The Sage Oak team works very hard to meet the individual needs and wants of each resident. And when there are issues or glitches, the management team is incredibly responsive in working toward a solution. I now have peace of mind knowing my mother is safe and well taken care of. I highly recommend Sage Oak Assisted Living to anyone who needs care for an aging loved one.

My Mom moved into the Aberdeen house recently. Every caregiver I have met has been so patient and kind and understanding. Crystal and Kendra have been on top of every detail. The transition of moving has brought out some different behaviors in my Mother and they have been so quick to respond in a loving attentive nature . My only regret is that I didnt move her into a group home setting sooner. It is such a pleasant calm atmosphere for her to live out the rest of her life in. She came from a large assisted living facility that is well respected in the community and it was one hassle after another there. They ruined most of her clothes and lost the rest. At Sage Oak...her clothes are beautifully laundered and hung nicely in her closet. The large facility lumped them everywhere , in kitchen drawers, on the floor , never on hangers. It always smelled in her room as soiled clothing was left in her room and bathroom . At the Aberdeen house and at all Sage properties , the policy is to remove any soiled items or adult diapers immediately. So much nicer for residents , visitors , caregivers and just an overall example of the cleanliness in these homes. The care is of course the most important thing, the caregiver to resident ratio and the quality of caregivers they hire is so superior to large facilities. Communication is the other big factor in my decision to move her. I get immediate responses from the directors when I have a question via a simple text. As opposed to leaving messages and e mails that never get addressed at large facilities . There are no hidden fees and no random unapproved upcharges. I couldnt be happier with the quality of care, communication and overall experience I have seen so far at the Aberdeen home!

Sage Oak is an immeasurable addition to our community! Loe Hornbuckle, with his knowledge and professionalism, has consistently offered patience along with a calm, reassuring assistance in making life changes for my family member. Loe provides great referrals for so many services including an in-house doctor, nurses, physical therapist, and podiatrist, just to name a few. Loe provides rapid response time; hes always on call, and just a text or phone call away. My cousin used to be in a large assisted living facility and a skilled nursing rehab center, and while those places served their purpose at that time in his life; he is now where he is supposed to be. My cousin is home at Sage Oak. A place just like being at home where I know hes safe, clean, enjoys home cooked meals, and Im comforted knowing he is well looked after. The staff has been wonderful in all levels of care. I dont know how they do what they do with such patience, skill, professionalism, and love. The medical staff for the home is excellent, and they provide great attention to detail and keep me fully informed. I have full confidence in recommending Sage Oak to any family.

A year ago, the physician at the nursing home where my father resided recommended hospice care for my dad. Dad had been diagnosed with Alzheimers dementia. Thankfully we were introduced to Loe who convinced us that the assisted living home environment setting would be beneficial for my dads health. So, we decided to transfer Dad to Sage Oak. Loe was right. My fathers went from 112 pounds to 142 and has never been better! My father has been at Sage Oak for over a year now. The home environment and excellent, caring, attentive staff turned my dads life around. Now I can sleep at night knowing my father is well cared for and most importantly, hes happy! Lana Holub
