The experience of having a loved one living away from home and being cared for by people that you don't know can be a real challenge. This difficult situation was made easier because of personally knowing a dear lady that had been in the care of Windsor Gardens for number of months. There were only good reports of care and personal attention for her needs. When I made the visit to explore what they had to offer for our elderly aunt I liked the casual home like environment and the evidence of a caring staff present through out the facility. After almost 5 years I was never disappointed in the care and attention that our dear aunt received. Our aunt also came to love the people and made many friends and told everyone who asked that he food is great here and I have everything that I need and I love my room here. Anyone needing the care for a friend or family member in an assisted living setting should come in and talk with the staff at Windsor Gardens Assisted Living for what they can offer, I don't think you will be disappointed.

My mother, Myra Garrison, was a resident at Windsor Gardens since the last of August 2021. The staff were so wonderful to my mom. She got three cooked home meals a day. Plus any snacks that she wanted in between times. She loved coffee, so they made sure she had it a lot of times. Mom always had someone there laughing and cutting up with her!!! (Karen Dyer) There were activities everyday that she participated in. From Christmas parties to Volunteer parties for football. She love the UT Vols. The staff were always willing to help you in anything that you needed. Mom passed Easter Sunday morning 2022 at 12:30pm. Everyone made sure that she, my brother Ken Garrison, and myself had everything we needed during their time of her passing. I would recommend this facility to anyone that needs a place, whether short term or permanent, for their loved one. Tina Davis

My mother, Jodie, dictated this review to me for posting. I share her sentiments entirely. "To be closer to family, I recently moved to another facility after being a happy and contented resident at Windsor Gardens for two years. Without the slightest hesitation I give Windsor Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Knoxville, Tennessee a 5-star rating along with a big A+ and A-OK. It is in a good neighborhood, close to good shopping centers. It is very clean and tastefully decorated with classic accents and the right combination of warm and bright cheerful colors. There are 3 different sized rooms. I had the smallest, but was comfortable and cozy, with anything I needed conveniently just a few steps away. All rooms at Windsor Gardens are equipped with a microwave, a small refrigerator, a kitchenette with a sink, drawers, cabinet space, and an open space for trash. The communal spaces include a large private patio and safe walkway across the back of the building. Lining the front are rocking chairs placed in both in the sun and the shade. There is plenty of parking. The main reason I and my children liked Windsor Gardens is because it is locally owned and operated. The President, Brian Bartley is in his office, on site, and is available every day. After just a few weeks at Windsor Gardens, I noticed the difference local ownership makes. Windsor Gardens is small, with fewer residents but has a high standard of care. The Windsor Gardens caretakers enjoy their work and their close relationships with residents, and since their turnover is much lower, there’s a better continuity in residents’ care. The more frequent turnovers I witnessed at the corporate-owned facility made it more difficult to build relationships with the staff. The management hires warm, personable, altruistic caretakers and well-trained nurses. There is a driver who transports residents to doctor’s appointments, and he also picks up residents’ weekly Walmart orders. The Activity Director plans trips to area museums and art galleries, along with musical programs or other interesting or scenic places in the Knoxville area. Many ministers come to conduct church services along with children’s choirs and many other local, talented entertainers. My second year at Windsor Gardens was 2020 - the year the world will always remember as the long Covid year. I am so grateful for the constant care and attention during that time. The owner of Windsor Gardens and the head nurse had weekly phone conferences with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, and they followed the CDC’s advice for restrictions for all U.S. Assisted Living facilities. Windsor Gardens had the reputation of being the leader among all Knoxville Assisted Living Facilities and Nursing Homes for having a Covid-free facility for most of that year. We were confined to our rooms at times, and no outside visitors were allowed, but all residents were closely observed, with B/P, vital signs, and oxygen level checks done several times a day, along with periodic Covid testing. We were allowed in the dining room with strict protocols, or our meals were delivered to our rooms. Throughout that year, the housekeepers, maintenance people, kitchen, and dining room workers, etc. didn’t miss a beat in performing their duties under very stressful circumstances. I could not be more grateful! Windsor Gardens is a gem, and I loved my stay there."

My Mother has resided at Windsor Gardens for the last 3+ years. In that time, she has developed many friendships and supportive relationships with the staff and the other residents there. The year 2020 has been a challenging one with COVID restrictions and with the progression of my Mothers dementia, but the administration and the staff at WG bent over backwards to accommodate her needs. Windsor Gardens was my Moms first home away from home and my family will always be grateful for the time that she has spent there.

When my husband and I were looking for an Assisted Living facility for my Mom, we had chosen three to visit. On our list for the first visit was Windsor Gardens. We were given a tour of the facility by Brian. It is a beautiful place. The rooms are amazing. After speaking with Brian, we decided to look no further at other facilities. We chose Windsor Garden right then. When we took my mother to live there, she told me she was only going to stay a month and then go home. Well, two days later she told us she LOVED her new home and didnt want to ever leave. She said the facility was like a resort! She has made many new friends. The staff should all get 5 stars. The are wonderful, dedicated and hard working people. They are so good and attentive to the tenants. Always smiling and happy. They have many activities during the day. Tara is a wonderful Social Director. If you are looking for a facility for a loved one, Windsor Gardens is it!

We needed a respite care facility for Mom to recover from her broken hip. I had hear good reviews from Windsor Court and after visiting and meeting the staff I could see why. This is a well established sole owner facility, where the owner has complete control of the professional staff. Everyone was concerned with every aspect of Moms care and happiness. I would recommend Windsor Gardens to anyone.

Mom moved to Windsor Gardens a year after dad died and remained there the last five years of her life. During her stay she received excellent care appropriate to her continuing physical decline. The care she received was personal and compassionate. A variety of opportunities were provided for her personal and spiritual growth, as well as for her entertainment. We are thankful that mom had Windsor Gardens in which to spend the final years of her life.

My family and I had the opportunity to experience first hand the professional care and amenities of this facility while our mother was a resident for 18 months. They provided 3 balanced meals daily, holiday parties, group activities and devotions, and personal attention. The rooms are spacious and clean, and are adequate for a resident to feel at home and comfortable. The staff was very professional and protective of the residents as to who was coming and going and where. They provide an in-house hair salon for the convenience of those unable to go out for whatever reason, took care to check on them periodically including blood pressure checks and other needs. I was at peace knowing there was always a nurse on duty 24, 7 should any unforeseen situation should arise and I would be contacted. During the Covid lockdown, they were careful to keep the residents safe and protected from any exposure to the virus, and were 100% successful. I highly recommend this facility, and you can feel confident that your elderly loved one will be receiving the best care and attention and entertainment.

Windsor Gardens was my mothers home for three years. Tara Wallace is the best activities director Ive ever seen!! There were countless activities and trips that were so beneficial. The staff and medical team were very kind and personable. She was always treated respectfully and as though they really loved her. Even the cleaning staff loved on her! Windsor Gardens went well beyond what was expected, as over time Moms dementia made it increasingly difficult for her to care for herself. Our family will always be grateful.

My mother was a resident at Windsor Gardens until her death in May of this year. She was exceptionally happy there. She loved the new friends she made and all the activities that were offered. They were so attentive and kept us informed everyday about her Illness and her progress.. I can’t say enough good things about Windsor Gardens. My mother has been a resident of Windsor Gardens twice. The first time was two years ago as a temporary resident to help with her recovery after a fall, and the second time she moved in was July of this year as a permanent resident. I cant begin to express how happy I am that she is living at Windsor Gardens and more importantly how happy she is. The attention and professionalism of the staff is well beyond our expectations and it is such a relief to know that she is in good hands when we are not with her or have to be away. We have seen such a positive change in mother since she has been living at Windsor Gardens. I would highly recommend to anyone that is considering assisted living for a loved one- look here first.John Stinnette

I was a little nervous at first, but soon put at ease. All of the staff is first rate! The facilities are top notch. I was in a single room - spacious and comfortable. A wonderful window looking out on multiple bird feeders. A variety of outdoor seating areas accent the overall ambiance. There are many communal rooms (well decorated) for activities. Lots of activities of various sorts (appealing to a cross section of interests) are planned and fun. Nursing staff is highly qualified and kind. The meals are well planned and varied - quite tasty and can be customized. I found the residents welcoming and happy. Overall I highly recommend Windsor Gardens!

Windsor Gardens has such a homey atmosphere. Each time you walk into the facility several residents and staff members greet you and ask how you been. It is so welcoming in that regard. I love how friendly everyone is. Windsor is always very clean and tidy and there is always something fun going on. My family and I typically volunteer at special events at Windsor and have a great experience every time!

Both of my parents went to live at Windsor about two years ago and what a blessing it was! The staff are excellent and the young activities director is awesome!!! Always keeping the residents active and involved in fun activities. Dad passed last year and the love and compassion shown toward my mom and our family during that time was beyond all our expectations and they continue to give mom a wonderful, loving, Christian environment in which to live.

Windsor Gardens provided my mother with short term care after a fall. She had injured her legs and was not able to take care of herself as she had been able to. The staff went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and taken care of. It was the closest thing to her being at home. She also got to know several of the residents and enjoyed interacting with them.5 stars
