My mother was moved to Friendship Village rehab last week to recover from a week at St Clair with an infected leg. She is in a wheelchair due to other orthopedic issues, but is able to live independently in a senior complex in Mt Lebanon. She was put in a room with someone with dementia which seems to be the majority of the rehab patients there. My mother does not have dementia, for 86 she is still very sharp and is very good at taking care of herself, she just needed some therapy to get her strength back. She is getting no rest or sleep to recover as there is always screaming or yelling from either a patient or nurse. She has a wound on her leg that needs to be dressed and the nurses argue over who is going to do it - thus the wound has gotten worse. The therapist is not engaged. The food is always cold and is pretty awful. The nurses have all been very nice but ineffective. Mom is clamoring to get out of there to go home to recover with a visiting nurse and some peace and quiet. Please reconsider sending a loved one to this place.

The quality of care at the Friendship Village Health Center is exceptional. The aides, nurses, therapists and social workers are attentive, helpful and professional. We had experience with other facilities, and none comes close to the level of care at Friendship Village.

We moved my parents into a 2 BR apartment in the new assisted living building in Friendship Village 2 months ago. For two 93-year olds this could have been traumatic since they were close to their caregivers at their former facility; however, the staff at FV had been just wonderful and my parents are very happy. The staff handled their Covid-19 initial quarantine period very carefully, which I appreciated. I have had several calls from different staff members giving me updates on my parents and offering suggestions to help them settle in. When I have had a question or concern I have always reached someone at nursing promptly and had a call back with answers, if necessary.My parents say the food is delicious and they love walking down to the covered porch that overlooks a beautiful courtyard. I highly recommend Friendship Villages new assisted living facility!

Our mother has been a resident for over a year. The transition into Friendship village and the subsequent stays in the health center have been perfect for her. All of the staff there are very attentive to her needs, have gotten to know her and we are always very pleased when we visit to see how well and safe she is doing there.

My parents have lived at Friendship Village South Hills for nearly 20 years, first in an apartment, and for the past five years in the health center. Their experience, and ours, has been one of consistent professionalism by the administration, and compassion and patience by the staff. The food is great and always tailored to their needs, their attention to my blind fathers diabetes regimen has been flawless, and the team knows how to meet their needs at ever level. Activities are always available, even if my parents sometimes choose to forego them. Highly recommended.

My father has been at Friendship Village for over 15 years. Until recently all his time was spent in independent living. Coming to live at Friendship Village has turned out to be a wonderful decision. He is always remarking that everyone is so nice. He is now in the health center and still comments to his family how nice everyone is to him. His family appreciates that everyone is so nice and that he is safe and well cared for, especially now that he is in the health center. I highly recommend Friendship Village.

I cant say enough about the care my mother receives in the Health Center at Friendship Village! She is loved and cared for by the staff--from the nurses, to the aides, to the activities and nutrition staffs, to the social worker and admissions staff. Everybody treats her with care and respect. They have filled her later years with purpose and joy. Whenever I have a question or need something, the staff is immediately responsive to my requests and attentive to her needs. Her transition from Independent Living at FV to the Health Center was seamless and we are appreciative of the care she receives there.

My Grandma was recently in the Health Center and what a great experience she had! I visited a few times and the staff was always friendly and very attentive to her needs. She especially loved the social worker and Patty, saying they went above and beyond when she needed something. Grandma made the right choice when she moved to Friendship Village, they truly treat her as family.

My parents are my treasures! They enjoyed immensely independent living at FV. I was the family member who dreaded placing a parent in the nursing center. The emergency happened when one parent needed the care and safety of Nursing while the other parent convalesced. Once placed in nursing there were thoughts that possibly it was temporary. Because of the amazing care I became the proponent of leaving the parent in nursing because of the care, safety and love. I was shocked to witness that after years of dreading the placement into nursing I actually wanted nursing to be the permanent home. Now all of us live happily and with less worries. Thank you Friendship Village!

Friendship Village has been wonderful for my 100-year-old family member. The staff is consistently professional, competent, and--above all--caring. All residents are greeted with respect, by name (Oh, Hello, Mr, Mrs Smith! --not Hi, honey!) and a friendly smile whenever encountered. My relative was assisted in an apartment for ten years, and staffs personal attention and attentiveness to detail enabled his prolonged independence. His recent move to the nursing wing was seamless--he has become stronger and more relaxed since his transfer and is very happy there. I give it my highest recommendation.

My father has really enjoyed living here. The staff is very friendly and caring and some how they manage to know every residents name! My only complaint would be that they often seem to be short staffed especially in the Health Center where my father is currently living.

I recently toured the facility as Im starting to plan for my future. The amenities very excellent and it was very clean. The staff was very friendly and the Health Center was very home like unlike other nursing homes in the area. I had the opportunity to meet the Social Worker who was very caring and knowledgeable.

We have found Friendship Village to be a true blessing. The staff, facility, meals, activities, support, etc. have all been outstanding. Like many people, we did not know what moving to senior living would be like. But Friendship Village has brought my mother a much richer life than she would have had if she had continued living on her own.
