This place is awful! My grandmother lived there for two years and the same day she passed away her apartment was burglarized with no apparent break in. We were assured by the staff that they would put a special lock on the door, which they didn't do and then it was burglarized a second time. So disappointing! Please DO NOT LET A LOVED ONE MOVE HERE!!!!

At this posting I have been at APPLEWOOD for over ten years - while some have been here longer. The location is great as Lancaster is one of the busiest streets in Oregon, and we are close to a doctors clinic, sporting goods store, Dairy Queen, Red Lobster, Walgreens, Dominos and Jimmy Johns to name a few. The rent is the lowest in the area and the food is the best, though like the military service you cannot please everyone. Food, water, garbage, even tv cable is free all we pay extra is for our phone, internet. The owners and our executive director are the nicest people who will bend over backwards to accommodate the residents. Of course, no place is perfect or right for everyone but except for a few exceptions, APPLEWOODERS tend to stick around to enjoy Salem, the Willamette Valley and fellow APPLEWOODERS.

I would say this, the owners have put an enormous amount of resources back into the community all the while keeping rents below the market average. This should speak for itself. The community has been completely updated with warm colors throughout. Restaurant style seating for all 3 meals, inclusive of main entrée, 5 side choices and alternate menus. Their inclusive rents include all 3 meals, weekly housekeeping, daily activities & outings, transport to MD appts, banks, and shopping, Satellite TV. On-site 3rd party caregiver provides Med Management, Bathing and Grooming support, and much more. Inquire today for a free tour and lunch. Wonderful place!! They have two activities room, one upstairs and one down stairs, they also have common living area with big tv, a nice patio with an outside area separate for smoking. Theres one area for cigarettes and one for the green stuff. You get 3 meals a day in there dining room, 3 course meal salad soup, entree and then a desert(the food is classic comfort food) The staff is excellent and very nice to the visitors. They also have a 24, 7 coffee and juice bar. I 100% recommend this place.
