Extremely quiet; close to vendors; largely older women who obviously enjoy the commaraderie but who, for the most part, been friendly with me.

My Mom was in her home for over 50 years, so I was concerned when we decided to make the move into the Astor House. She has now been there for about 6 months and has settled in very well. She absolutely loves the staff, the food and the activities. I want to thank all the staff, especially Tracey, for help making my Mom’s transition a smooth one. Thank you! I would recommend the Astor House to anyone that is looking for independent living for their loved one.

Great, caring staff with a fun, activity filled environment for my folks. Food is prepared by chefs and is not boring.

The team at Astor House has done an amazing job managing through the situation with COVID-19. The General Manager (Charlie) and Sale Person (Bridget) showed a high level of empathy, passion, and concern for insuring their residents and staff had their needs taken care of and concerns addresses. Great job working through a challenging time.

My has been there for 1 1, 2 years now. When we first put him there I thought it was the perfect place. Now Im not so sure. The people working there and the residence are all wonderful. The problem lies with the company themselves. They have cut back on to outings to twice a month instead of every week. Even then their bus only carries about 10 to 12 people depending on how many wheel chairs they have. There are over 150 residents so most dont get to go anyway. Their chef is good but has to follow a set menu by the company for all their homes. That doesnt allow for requests or chefs own ideas so menus gets stale. There is never enough staff at meal times so many of the residence complain about the wait times. My father has been just buying items he can heat in his with microwave and eating in his room. Rooms are nice with small balconies and full size refrigerators and large bathrooms. The rooms are cleaned once a week. Here again they staff now only change bed clothes every other week instead of weekly. They are only getting one set of towels for all week instead of 2 sets per week. Love all the people that live there and all the staff but if Astor house doesnt make some good changes I will be looking for another place to move him. The location is great within 5 min of Newburg hospital. Albertsons is 5min. away in opposite directions well.

I wrote a pretty scathing review last year. Since then theyve gotten a new manager and the Astor House has turned around completely. Holiday corporate still cut costs at the expense of their residents everywhere they can. Otherwise I would rate it 5 stars.

Rude people!

My mothers friend just moved into the Astor House. It was my first choice when my mother needed a change from independent living. But she could not commit do to medical issues. I recommended it to My mothers friend! So I have a problem. Running out of food not having enough items at meal time. Hopefully what I read about linens and towels is incorrect also the trips and outings. One makes one giant step to move into such a facility the frame and bedrock items should always be available. Please take care of the wonderful residents and make the company give back control of the menu and outings and housekeeping items .... to the staff not corporate Thank you
