My Grandma lived with you for 5 years. She had a hard time moving from her house to yours and Thorncliffe place went out of their way to calm her anxiety and ease her pain. She always commented on how lovely the staff were in the dining room as they always brought her bacon!!! She LOVED bacon. They played Scrabble with her and went through all her family albums umpteen times as if it were the first time. Thank you for giving her a home away from home.

My auntie lived at Thorncliffe for many years: she always loved it there and told me that the food was her favourite part. I really enjoyed coming to see her because the staff were so warm and welcoming. My Auntie would always tell me how the staff treated her like family and genuinely cared about her comfort and happiness. I felt completely at ease knowing she was well taken care of at all times. It was obvious that the home was a family business and not one of those large chains where the management and staff were always changing. I was most impressed by their public health record which was second to none in the city and read the CBC article that was written about them. I would recommend Thorncliffe to anyone! I’ve done it many times and will continue to recommend them to all my friends and family.

I have known people at Thorncliffe Place Retirement Residence for many years. Staff is always warm, caring, and go out of their way to make everyone feel loved. Meals are delicious and healthy. The events and activities make for a fun and family like environment. It is always very clean and the staff take pride in making sure everyone is well taken care of. I highly recommend this retirement residence for any loved ones.

I used to work at Thorncliffe as the Kitchen Manager for many years. I miss and cherish my time there, was such a great experience with wonderful staff and residents. The only reason I left was because I moved out of the city but often visit when I'm in town and it's always a warm welcome when I do. I helped play a major role in Thorncliffe having the best public health record, as per the CBC article that was published, and seeing the current staff maintain what we built is very fulfilling. It is a great place to work and a wonderful place to live.

Mom was really struggling at home and we knew it was time for her to go to a Retirement Home. Friends of ours recommended Thorncliffe as their Mom also lives there and they were not wrong! We didn’t tour any other places and Mom did not want to either, she loved the fact that Thorncliffe does not feel like a large institution but rather a home and she loves the decor. Adriana and her team are fantastic, they truly care for the residents. We do not regret our choice and would recommend thorncliffe to anyone looking for a caring family owned home.

My Dad has been a resident of Thorncliffe Place for the last year. Our family is grateful that he is living in a home where he and all the other residents receive an abundance of tender loving care and have their needs met by professional and competent staff. Manager Adriana leads by example as she shows her love for the residents. It is a very welcoming and friendly seniors residence. Family members are encouraged to visit and participate in the many social events planned for the residents. Thorncliffe Place has impressively remained free of COVID-19 due to the unwavering efforts of Adriana and her entire staff. Everything is to like. When my brother and I toured Thorncliffe some years ago, after having visited many other residences, we just looked at each other and said, This is the place. And so it has proven to be -- the place where my mother of 99 years is very happy. Will I be doing Zumba at 99 years of age? I have my mothers genes so I might be joining her. Seriously. Everything to like, more to admire.

Thorncliffe Place has a lovely community feel. Because it is relatively small, the staff know the residents well and they are able to anticipate and fulfill their unique needs. The staff are always kind to my father. That is very important to me! I am impressed at how stringent the sanitation and visiting rules have been to keep Covid 19 away from Thorncliffe Place. Well done, manager, Adriana! With visits being limited during the pandemic, the residents have enjoyed drive-by parades full of decorated vehicles with their family members!! We enjoyed the Fathers Day Parade and are looking forward to the Canada Day celebration, too! Thorncliffe staff work hard to make the residents days enjoyable. There is a lot of love and respect at Thorncliffe Place! I highly recommend this retirement residence!

Adriana, Manager at Thorncliffe Place RR has kept COVID 19 out of the residence by hard work, excellent management skills, constant vigilance, and continuous research and updating practises, where such a huge number have failed. So she is a miracle worker. And it is also beautiful in there, and sweet, and friendly.

My dad is being so well taken care of at Thorncliffe Place. All the staff are taking the necessary precautions during these turbulent times. Both of my parents are at Thorncliffe and we are extremely pleased with the level of care and the quality of the accommodations and food services. Adriana and the staff take great pride to provide every opportunity to create a positive and engaging atmosphere for all residents. With the CoVid 19 outbreak, Thorncliff has been very proactive in introducing and maintaining best practices to protect the residents and inform families daily of all developments. Our family has full confidence in Thorncliffe staff and would highly recommend this residence for their genuine and effective senior care.

I feel truly blessed that I know my mom is at such a caring and safe place at this scary time we are going through. The staff is absolutely amazing. We chose Thorncliffe Place because it felt cosy and inviting, and the staff seemed to genuinely care about the residents. We were not wrong. My mother is well-looked-after, she has made good friends, and there are lots of fun activities - including great parties with live music! Mom often jokes that we only brought her here so that we could join in on the events!

What an all-round great place! Supportive and caring staff (for both residents and family members), great food, a wide variety of activities and entertainment, beautifully kept surroundings! My mother has been living here for over 5 years and is perfectly happy and content, as are we when visiting. We would highly recommend Thorncliffe Place...theres a feeling of being home.

As soon as you walk into Thorncliffe it feels like home, a feel that you just cant get from the large, corporation owned facilities. The fact that this is a family owned business is evident in the care and compassion shown by the staff, most of whom have been helping seniors enjoy life there for many, many years. If you have a suggestion, you always know where to find the owner, and he has the power to act. Both Mike and Adriana are very approachable, compassionate and helpful. When my father needed assistance, their response was both immediate and positive. I highly recommend this home! Doug McClure

A loving, caring environment perfect for my parents. Adriana, the General manager is very reactive and hands on. Always willing to take the time to understand our needs then help come up with a plan. Laurie and Eliza are exceptional. All of the nursing staff and PSWs have really made this transition a home away from home. My parents also enjoy the variety offered with their meals.

We could not be more pleased with Thorncliffe Place. All the staff worked very hard to make transition from her home to their home. What could have been a very stressful time for all was made so much easier. During the past tornados and electrical outage the staff and owner ensured all residents were safe and comfortable. Our family really appreciates the great care my 101 year old mother receives at Thorncliffe Place. She has been there three years now and has thrived. Mom needs a lot of care and the staff have been exceptional. I visit Thorncliffe quite often and feel I have become part of the family. Thorncliffe has a warm, homelike atmosphere. Darlene, a dedicated volunteer and very talented decorator ensures the place is tastefully adorned for fall, Halloween, Christmas, Birthdays..etc. Our thanks to the manager, Adriana, and all the staff and volunteers for creating a safe and caring home for our mother Katherine.
