This home is special. There's too many nice things that I can say about Thorncliffe but I'm not going to go on a rant. They have the best public health record for the last 20 years or so, they have the highest resident to staff ratio out of any home in the country I would guess; which is crazy impressive. Every staff member makes the home a very warm and inviting place to visit leaving one feeling great about the decision to entrust them with their loved one. The cute dog Bella does tours and she acts as if she's on the payroll and takes her job of making everyone happy very seriously! I recommend you check the place out for yourself as you won't be disappointed.

The extra care that Adrianna, and the full staff provided to my Grandmother was more than we could have asked for. They went above and beyond with every aspect of her care from medicine dispensing, hygiene, exercise and nutrition we couldn't have been more pleased. RIP Mimi we all miss you.

My Grandma lived with you for 5 years. She had a hard time moving from her house to yours and Thorncliffe place went out of their way to calm her anxiety and ease her pain. She always commented on how lovely the staff were in the dining room as they always brought her bacon!!! She LOVED bacon. They played Scrabble with her and went through all her family albums umpteen times as if it were the first time. Thank you for giving her a home away from home.

Thorncliffe place was the best choice for my family when my elderly grandfather could no longer live independently, and needed more support than we could provide ourselves. He was still able to feel independent in his apartment there while he was cared for until his final days. He loved the live entertainment, gardens, staff, patios, and atmosphere there, you can tell they care about the residents.

My gran lived at Thorncliffe for many years and loved it there. She was previously at a place on Blair Rd. & was getting bullied by a couple of women there so we moved her to Thorncliffe. She was so happy after the move & expressed she finally felt safe. She made so many great friends and always said the staff were like extended family. Every time we would visit she would tell me about her big bingo wins and how she enjoyed the food. It truly is a great place that always has a warm and inviting atmosphere.

I have had the privilege of providing music entertainment for the folks at Thorncliffe Retirement Residence for the past several years. Each time I'm there I encounter the many happy faces of the residents as they engage and participate in the music selections either through singing or dancing along. Birthday celebrations and special themes are integrated into my performance. It is truly a pleasure to share my talents with them. The staff are welcoming and supportive not only to me but especially to the residents under their care. Thorncliffe is a special place. I look forward to each of my bookings there.

Absolute 5 Star without question. One of the most serious decisions you can make in life is who to trust with the care of an elderly loved one. The level of care, attention, compassion and professionalism provided by Thorncliffe is second to none. My family member was cared for and treated as a family member to Thorncliffe. The staff were wonderful, the accommodations were fantastic. I could leave a longer review going through item. However, for brevity purposes I'll simply restate that this is a 5 Star home that deserves your consideration. I cannot think of higher praise.

My father received wonderful care in his last 4 months of life. He was adamant that he would never leave his home and when circumstances made it impossible for him to be at home, he was moved to Thorncliffe Place. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Dad quickly nested and found his room comfortable and very private, just as he wished. We never felt that Dad went without and he praised the staff constantly. We grew especially fond of Ryan and he went above and beyond to make my Dad feel welcome and at home. No one wants to leave their home but when the time comes that it is absolutely necessary, I would highly recommend Thorncliffe and the wonderful staff. I slept well knowing that my father was safe and protected and that means the world to me. Dad passed peacefully in his sleep, on July 22, and the way the staff dealt with this and us was superb, you could tell they really care.

What I really like about Thorncliffe is the fact that the management and most staff have been there for decades. They also do a lot of charity work and support other small businesses. Adriana co-founded an orphanage at a young age and she still spends the majority of her free time helping the less fortunate. She is a really great person and is a big reason why the place is so great!

If you love dogs this is the home for you. They love dogs at this place and even have their cute pups give tours. One time I was there and so many family members brought their dogs around to play I swear I thought I was in a puppy sanctuary lol.

I used to work at Thorncliffe as the Kitchen Manager for many years. I miss and cherish my time there, was such a great experience with wonderful staff and residents. The only reason I left was because I moved out of the city but often visit when I'm in town and it's always a warm welcome when I do. I helped play a major role in Thorncliffe having the best public health record, as per the CBC article that was published, and seeing the current staff maintain what we built is very fulfilling. It is a great place to work and a wonderful place to live.

Mom was really struggling at home and we knew it was time for her to go to a Retirement Home. Friends of ours recommended Thorncliffe as their Mom also lives there and they were not wrong! We didn’t tour any other places and Mom did not want to either, she loved the fact that Thorncliffe does not feel like a large institution but rather a home and she loves the decor. My Uncle had just moved into Thorncliffe when the pandemic started. We felt at peace knowing that he was not home alone, isolated but rather in a safe home where the staff are so attentive. I have volunteered at Thorncliffe Place a number of times. At every occasion, I found the staff to be caring, compassionate and loving. The residents loved the activities that were being done (dancing performance, christmas party, etc) and were having a great time! We chose Thorncliffe Place for our elderly blind cousin because it is more like a home than an institution. The care that she receives is excellent . Bedridden, incontinent, and blind, her home made delicious meals are delivered, she and her room are always clean and there is always someone around to assist within a reasonable time. I am known by name by the staff in this very friendly environment and greeted like a welcome guest . Unfortunately my cousin is unable to participate in the many activities and entertainment that are available and enriching for the residents. I have highly recommended this home to friends .
