I went to visit Cité Parkway Residence with my mother 5 months ago and we were impress at the entrance with the welcome we received from the reception and then by Lucie (Lifestyle director). Lucie invited us in her office to discuss my parents needs and then we went for a tour of all facilities and visited 3 rooms. My mother enjoyed the atmosphere in the building, very nice exterior and interior, clean and warm welcoming from all staff. My parents have lived at The Cité Parkway Residence since June 2022, Lucie (Lifestyle director) is very nice and very present and helpful at all time, she is an amazing person and she always has a smile. My parents had a wonderful welcoming from all the staff, from the health department, to reception, dining room, activities etc. This home has lots to offer and the staff is available for all needs and concern. I would definitely recommend this Residence

After walking in the front entrance, my first impressions of this residence was one of calm and serenity as you are greeted with a warm organic décor and friendly reception area. Other residences that we visited had that sterile contemporary look and feel of stainless steel everywhere, not a very homey look or feel. I came to visit with my mother and we were greeted by Lucie (Lifestyle Director) who took us for a tour of their facilities. We saw the dining area, the beautiful indoor pool, the cinema, the chapel, the Bistro, the hair salon and so many other amenities as well as 4 rooms. All services and costs were explained to us and we never felt pressured into signing up. We came back at a later date and signed the rental agreement. The entire process was stress-free and to this day, everything that was said and promised has been delivered. I really have no complaints to convey and I've told Lucie as much and even jokingly mentioned that I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop but if it did, I believe that Lucie would do everything in her power to resolve the issue(s) to our satisfaction. Lucie informed us that should, in the unfortunate event of an issue with staff, tell her about it so that the proper corrective measures could be taken to prevent further repeats of said events. I wanted to share a positive experience that my mother had when she took a fall in her bathroom at the residence and pushed her pendant button and help arrived within 5 or 6 minutes. I believe that the PSW went above and beyond and provided value added service. My mom badly soiled herself as a result of not getting to the bathroom in time but the PSW arrived, comforted my mother and made sure that she did not feel embarrassed, she removed the soiled clothing and helped my mother clean herself up and even had those soiled clothes cleaned and returned to my mother even though laundry is the resident's responsibility. The residence has strict rules in place to ensure the residents health and safety but not at the cost of independent living and freedom. I'm happy to leave my mother in such caring hands and I know that my mother's health and safety are in good hands. Keep up the good work

Following hip replacement surgery, I convalesced at this wonderful establishment. I cannot say enough about how well I was treated by everyone there. Everyone was so welcoming to me - management, food service, housekeeping, nursing staff - always smiling, always accommodating, always friendly. I'm so happy I made that decision and would definitely do it again.

Since the opening of Cité Parkway (CP), the Pauline-Charron Center (CPC), of which I am the general manager, have maintained a good partnership. The CP residence has provided us with a room to organize a meal with our staff and to hold a meeting of the Board of Directors. The CP Residence has also been there to help us with sponsorships and prizes for raffles at special events here at CPC. In return, the CPC is proud to support CP by offering it visibility during certain activities, also by allowing it to post information and pamphlets. My mother has been living at Cite Parkway for several years now and is happy with the service. She is especially pleased with the care during COVID-19 and feels very safe. While there may have been issues with the quality of the food in the past it has greatly improved with the new chef and my mother has enjoyed every meal since. Cite Parkway surpasses other retirement home that I have been to, reception and staff are very friendly.

I visit a resident twice weekly on the third floor, care side. The whole residence is very clean and all of the staff that I deal with, PSWs, activity personnel, maintenance and reception are very welcoming and helpful.There are many activities daily for the residents and, my friend, who resides here, loves to participate in all of them.Especially during COVID times, while regular visits are not allowed, I am extremely happy that the Residence has so many varied, COVID safe, activities for the residents to enjoy on their own floors.Thank you Cite Parkway for keeping everyone as safe as you can by following all COVID directives, and for the activities which help everyone pass the time in a fun, friendly and safe manner.Pat

As a personal carer and Volunteer I have visited a few different residences in the city, City Parkway has been a wonderful place to visit my friend. From the moment you walk in the front door and are greeted by Hassna {also known as Happy} you know you are in a warm comfortable place surrounded by people who care. She is the heart of the building and keeps everything ticking and everyone smiling it is very obvious that the residents love her...The Director - Mark likes to say his door is always open ! and it actually is! He always manages to find a solution to any problems the residents may have.Joey - The caretaker does a wonderful job keeping this beautiful building running and is always willing to help whenever he can.Sofie - the kitchen assistant is wonderful at keeping the dining room supplied and the guests happy and always has a pleasant smile.Nicole the Director of Nursing Care does an amazing job of keeping the nursing staff informed of all the residents medical needs she ensures that the whole staff knows what the resident requires and is great if you just need and ear to listen.This amazing team work hard everyday in the best interests of all the residents and strive to make sure its not just a seniors residence its Home....

Since moving my 92 year old mother from the hospital to one of the memory care units at Cite Parkway, this home has proven to be exactly the type of home I had hoped to find for her. From the moment she walked into the lobby on admission day, the front receptionist and the lifestyle director were expecting her and she was given a most wonderful warm welcome. She was even given a welcome card & a plant for her room. Once in her room, I was invited to a complementary lunch as her guest. Lunch consisted of a vegetable soup, followed by a perfectly cooked salmon steak with asparagus & rice and then a large piece of chocolate, cherry cake for desert.As my mothers essential caregiver during the COVID pandemic, I have been visiting her daily and have had first hand experience on how friendly & caring all PSWs & nurses have been towards her.In terms of the meals, they have been excellent! My understanding is that a new chef was recently hired & I cannot say enough about the wide variety of beautifully presented meals that have all been equally nutritious and delicious. My mother has enjoyed every meal served!Finally, since her admission to Cite Parkway I have seen my mother start to blossom from the warmth of the care she is receiving!!Cite Parkway & its most caring staff have created a true home environment for my mother & based on our experience, I would most definitely recommend Cite Parkway.

I would not hesitate to recommend Cite Parkway.My family is very appreciative of the comfort and security that the Cité Parkway environment affords our parents. Their beautiful apartment with balcony offers an amazing view and the location means the convenience of a neighborhood they have known for decades. The common areas are very pleasant, clean and well illuminated.Very important to us is that the great majority of the staff is bilingual, not an easy thing to find in a quality residence located in Ottawa. The staff at Cité Parkway is the heart of this residence and continuously strives to improve as a team. The peace of mind their caring and dedication have provided to us is priceless, especially during this very trying pandemic period. They have taken the greatest care and have gone above and beyond in walking that fine line between making our loved ones health their #1 priority, adhering to the sometimes-contradictory and fluctuating health department protocols, all while still offering their residents the best quality of life possible. This pandemic has provided a great challenge and these dedicated individuals are not just employees or staff, they are standing in as family to our parents in this time when we cannot be physically present in their lives.I have no doubt that satisfying the wide range of needs and expectations of residents at all times would present an ongoing challenge at any residence. One of these challenging areas, of course, being the food. Such a varied group of individuals would all have their personal preferences with many also having nutritional restrictions. It is my understanding that the new chef, Markus, is doing an outstanding job. There are so many members of the team at Cité Parkway that have been especially attentive and caring with our parents that I will not attempt to name them individually here for fear of omitting someone but will simply state that we appreciate every one of them.

We have been impressed by the care offered to our parents at Cite Parkway. After visiting a dozen residences, our mother chose this one because the environment was quiet and inviting. The care provided to our father in the last months of his life was tender and kind, and we are very grateful to the support workers, staff and nurses who made his passing as comfortable as it could be. Now as our mother is grieving, they are helping her (and us) in this process. He was much more outgoing than she is, and she finds fault with many things (which is stressful) but our observation is that everyone is doing the best they can to respect both her wishes and her needs. She is constantly assured that she is safe and cared for and it is heartwarming to watch her melt into their many hugs. They try to engage her in various activities, and she enjoys the food. We have struggled to find the perfect setting for her, even here, and yet the staff have gone to extraordinary effort to find the room that will suit her best, moving her twice. Quite honestly, we would be lost without them and appreciate all they do. There are some areas--like the public washrooms on the care floors--that could consistently use more attention but overall we are comfortable with what we have observed.

After visiting several retirement homes my father moved into the memory care unit two months ago and we couldt be more pleased. It is not always an easy transition to go from your home to new living quarters, especially if one has dementia but everyone at Cité Parkway has made us feel welcomed since day one.The staff are very caring and friendly and they make my father feel like a super-star! The activities team is lead by an enthusiastic group that encourage my father to participate in various activities to foster socialization and keep him stimulated. I am also impressed by the number of musical guests that visit to entertain the residents.Food is always subjective but I find the food very good; I speak from experience as I eat lunch with my father in the beautiful main dining room practically everyday. Wonderful salad bar and kind service staff.I can not forget to mention the décor... tasteful and welcoming, not clinical at all. We especially love the library.Kudos to all the staff from every department, especially the third floor team, and thank you for taking great care of my father!

My parents moved to the City Parkway Retirement Home three years ago just a few months after it had opened, in the unassisted living area. This move was not easy for them and the staff did their utmost to help them settle in and see to their needs. Because of their declining health, they have now moved to the assisted living area where they receive the care and help that they need. This has been a great relief for the family. I give City Parkway a five star evaluation, not because it is perfect as that does not really exist, but because they make the required efforts to fix things and make them better. Thank you for your efforts at making my parents comfortable.

Our 93-year-old father is a resident at Cité Parkway, the loveliest retirement home in the Ottawa area. He is safe and as happy as one could be given the semi-lockdown circumstances in which he and many retirement residents in the city are living today. Despite one of their own staff contracting the Coronavirus, it has not spread to one other person, resident or staff member. This alone speaks volumes about their dedicated staff who, through their stringent cleaning routines and various resident protocols, have kept my dad and his fellow residents safe. We are grateful to the executive director, Josée, who reacted so quickly, and a staff that are so unbelievably dedicated, who have taken on extra duties and extended hours without complaint, and more still, deliver their services with a smile and an energy that belie the long hours they keep. To ‘Happy, our little ray of sunshine at the residence; the wonderful nursing team, led by Yasmina; the activities director, Nick; the Lifestyles Director, Lucie; Eric, the cook and servers, the amazing cleaning and other support staff, who do their job so well, a big thank you. As a family, we couldnt be more grateful. It will be nice to get back to ‘normal post-COVID, when he can resume his meals in the dining room with his friends, his daily pool game, exercise class, movie night, and fireside chats after dinner.The David family

Im writing this review based on the past 8 weeks of this pandemic as my loved one has only been there 4 months. I have not seen my family member (who is 90) at all so our relationship is in the hands of all employees at Cite Parkway. I cannot say enough good things about the efforts that ALL the staff have made to try and get everyone through this very difficult and unprecedented time. Although I do believe the residents would benefit from visits and help from family members, I also understand the strict measures that need to be taken to protect our loved ones. The administration has been forthcoming and transparent with information (as far as I know), and Irem (Coordinator marketing) has been extremely helpful in making communication possible not only for me but for other family members. Thank you for all you do !

My parents are both at Cite Parkway. They had planned their retirement and wanted to live the dream of travelling and enjoying life. Like many their health declined and Retirement was their best options. Although not wanting to even hear about retirement, we (the kids) had to make the difficult decision. If we had to do this again, we would all agree that the sooner the better. My parents were able to enjoy the meals, activities, security etc. which gave us all peace of mind. Then their health declined and care in Memory care and assisted living was much needed. We are blessed to have such caring staff (front line & management) looking over our parents. At anytime if we have a question, a concern its an open door policy and we can walk right in and ask questions and they listen. They truly CARE and to see the long hours that the Executive Director, the DOC put in is incredible. Their passion for this elderly population and follow-ups to ensure we have the information and my parents receive the care they deserve is commendable. For sure, we have concerns from time to time and they are taken seriously without judgement and we can talk openly about it. Caring for so many seniors under one roof...I dont know how they do it, as we could not care of our cherished parents and that is guilt that we will have to live with. This is now our second home and even the families become friends and rely on each other. I know that no place is perfect, but we did come from another big company that truly only cared about our finances but here, yes its a business with a heart of gold and run by families and staff that made a choice to have a vocation and not just a job. The leadership of a home makes a difference and boy are we seeing the caring, professional, open approach...what a difference it can make with the right people truly caring about the residents and the many families that come through their door...and the community friendships that are now being built. My parents needed +++ care and received much more. Kudos to all departments that come together under an exceptional leadership to make this place a true heartfelt home and NOT an institution or a CASH lead operation.

As a retired RN , I would like to share some comments for Cite Parkway which became my home in 2018. First thing that I would like to mention is the housekeeping. In the home, housekeeping standards are high, both in suites and all common rooms like laundry room, first floor amenities etc. Second, all staff, management team and receptionists are very nice and helpful people. I love them all. Third, my apartment is very comfortable and has big windows with a balcony which help to get natural light in the suite . In addition to that, I have a kitchenette which comes with a microwave and fridge, I found its enough for one person as the residence provide us 3 meal s per day with snacks. In the room, I also have individual air conditioning & heating that I can adjust as I wish. I recommend Cite Parkway

You must see this place for yourself! We knew right away it was a perfect fit for our aunt.Lucie E was so kind and accommodating to give us a tour as we were urgently looking for assisted living. Immediately we were highly impressed. Just the entrance is so inviting and to this day Hassna at the reception is so helpful and always cheerful!Our aunt loves her big and bright room and has adjusted very well liking the skilled nurses and caregivers. When she is able she is invited to activities, has her hair styled or has a mani, pedi and even visited the dentist on location. Now under the care of the resident doctor it eases the familys mind.Moving is an adjustment for all and there are many questions in the beginning but the staff is always there to answer all the questions.We are confident about our choice and we, including our aunt, are happy and very satisfied!

since they hired new management like Melanie the executive director and now Mandy assistant director of care, things are starting to really improve in levels of care. I was able to have witness first hand how Mandy calmed a patient who was stressing over something that caused her distress. Mandy really showed compassion and knowledge. Thank you cite parkway

I have visited a client at her residence here quite a few times. Each time, the woman at reception greeted me warmly, and once she recogized me from a few visits, personally as well. My client is very happy with the home, although she is in excellent health and would require a minimum (if any) amount of care above and beyond the meals and social activities provided. She has commented that the meals are excellent. I was very impressed with the feeling of a high end hotel and not the usual depressing hospital type setting many of these residences have. Im sorry to read in other reviews that there may be some staffing shortages affecting residents needing more care and attention. Hopefully that is resolved before my client is in need of more regular care.
