Caring for an elderly parent can be a complicated responsibility. The Thistlecreek Health Care team has offered my mother and our family the additional support that we need. The team of professional PSW's are consistently trustworthy, honest, patient, dependable and are genuinely caring and understanding of our mother's needs. Unfortunately, most of us are not able to provide 24 hour care for our loved ones and Thistlecreek offers a very much appreciated solution.

We've been working with Thistlecreek for 6 months now and would highly recommend. The assessment process was done quickly and they answer any questions you have promptly. We have a wonderful PSW that comes in weekly to help my mother. She's excellent and treats her like family.

Five stars isn't enough for this amazing company! From the minute I met with Monika I knew I was making the right choice. She asked me what my expectations were for my Dad's care and explained how they would make those happen and more. The office team of Judith and Dave are so easy to work with in making up my Dad's health care schedule. Nothing is too much trouble, ever! The ladies who come to care for my Dad during the day, evening and overnight are so kind, caring and compassionate as well as very professional. My mother is in a retirement home in Oakville and Thistlecreek has been providing her with dependable, compassionate, capable caregivers for about 2 years. The agency gives us timely responses when changes need to be made and do their best to make accommodations. They are professional in their communication with the family members. I want to thank Thistle Creek and the nurses and PSW’s that took care of my Mom in her later stages of life. The care we received was exactly what we needed and it allowed Mom to stay at home where her children could visit at any time and provide comfort. From their quick response after hours on a Friday to help get support to our mom immediately, to their caring visits each and every week to spend time and do things with her, they care. Caring, helpful, punctual, and flexible. Thistlecreek helped my 95 year old grandmother over the last five years or so of her life live independently and comfortably in her own home. They have also helped me with light housekeeping, meal preparation and cooking, which has been invaluable as a professional with young children. Highly recommended!

We have been using Thistlecreek healthcare for many years. They cared for both my parents and took great care when my mom was going through cancer. They now look after my elderly father. They are very professional and take care of everything right down to grocery shopping and picking up medication. The girls are very good with my dads dog as well and take him for walks! I used Thistle Creek services for over three years for a family member living in assisted living as I am out of the country and desperately needed the help. I can not say enough amazing things about Monika and her team of personal care providers - Marisel, Maria and Alma. They took care of my family member every day for over three years and provided me with the security and confidence of knowing she was well taken care of and loved. They sat with her, fed her, read to her, did her nails, took her special foods and showed her so much care and love. They always kept me informed with updates to her health. I just dont know what I would have done without Monikas help. I can not thank her and her team enough. I will always think of them and the love and comfort they gave.

We have used the services of several of the staff, all of whom have been polite, prompt and caring. Our regular staff member is all of the above as well as a great communicator and encourager. I would highly recommend the services of Thistlecreek Health Care in Oakville. This centre is run by a very dedicated lady and her staff is extremely caring. We are very thankful for the great personalized care our friend received in the last 6 months. She was treated with dignity at all times. The staff even provided assistance to the nursing staff while she was in the hospital and enabled our friend to virtually connect with family and friends which was extremely appreciated by all.

Monica and the team from Thistlecreek are amazing. Caring and compassionate the PSWs were a godsend for our family. Caring for my Mom with Alzheimers through the evening, she is a wanderer, gave us all piece of mind that she would be safe and not disruptive to other residents in the care home. I have had nothing but amazing experiences with Thistlecreek. I have a PSW by the name of Lummy who has been taking care of my 95 year old Mom who has Dementia since mid November. She is an angel sent from heaven and I dont know what we would do without her. I have also had other people from the agency at such times that Lummy cannot make it and they were also very caring people. Going by the experience I have had so far, I would highly recommend this centre. For me definitely 5 ⭐

I am so thankful to have found Thistlecreek Health Care. They have such an amazing team of people, from the owner, to the administrative team, right down to the care workers. While my Mom was in the hospital we realized we needed more help and care for her, particularly for meals and companionship. The Thistlecreek team jumped in to help us with very little notice. They were there when we needed them. Christina was always on top of what was happening, always responding to calls and emails immediately. The Personal Support Workers who came to care for my mother were so caring, kind, and compassionate. We got to know very many of the PSWs, including Eva, Maria and Fiona. They gave us peace of mind knowing they were there for my Mom. They were there not only to help my mom with her health care needs but also to hold her hand and offer a friendly voice. I am so grateful that I found Thistlecreek. I live in the United States and my mom lives in Oakville, Ontario. I feel so far away from her. I was in Oakville in September and told my mom she needed a companion to come in so she could stay living in her condo. She did not agree with me, however I asked her to keep an open mind as I called Thistlecreek. Rose came from the agency. Rose is an upbeat, professional caring woman who put my mom at ease right away. She is so intuitive as she pointed out to my mother the strengths she had and that a little help would be good for her. My mom agreed as she really liked Rose. The day the companion was coming my mom called to tell me that she did not want to do this, again I asked her to do it just for today. This incredible woman who came from a place of love and professionalism and made my mom feel at ease. She knew exactly what to say so my mom would feel that she was still making her own decisions. Now it is been 4 months and when I speak to my mom daily she tells me that she is going on the treadmill because her companion pointed out all the wonderful benefits. A few months ago she was complaining about the treadmill and that she would never go again. However this incredible worker empowered my mom with not only facts about exercise but how my mom was doing so well and exercise would help her stay well. My mom tells me everyday how much her companion not only does for her but how she makes her feel that she is doing well in her life. Amazing because this same woman told me that she did not want a Stranger in her house. Proof to me that Thistlecreek employees are more than just a service, they represent caring, loving, sensitive, professional care givers who are making a huge difference in the lives of the elderly. Empowerement, love, respect, patience and knowledge of this age group, everything I desired for my mom. Thistlecreek is always in communication with me. They let me know immediately if there are any concerns. If I have any concerns especially when I had to return to the united states, they patiently returned my overwhelming number of phones calls without even a sigh. It was heatfelt reassurance that everything was fine. I am so blessed to have Thistlecreek in our lives. I would also like to point out that Thistlecreek goes above and beyond any of my expectations. The companion also noticed a few small repairs that needed to be done. She and my mom went to another community to find the correct material to fix a set of blinds and this same woman fixed the blind for my mom. She observed it and took action to fix it. I had never mentioned the blind nor had my mom. I thank God everday that I chose Thistlecreek to care for my precious mom. I know now that I made the best decision because Thistlecreek is like having extended family looking after my mother. I sleep soundly each night knowing that they are a phone call away, even in the middle of the night if something happens, they will be there, just like family.
