I would highly recommend Tara Retirement Home for your loved one. My mother has been a resident for a couple of years and is so happy. The small family atmosphere and care the residents are given is beyond expectations. The owner is caring and the staff go above and beyond planning events, meals and programs. Tara is definitely a step above any large institutional homes.

As an employee at Tara Retirement Home, I can honestly say that it is such a privilege to be apart of such a beautiful family! Joanne and Steve go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is happy, healthy and feeling at home! It brings me such joy to be able to do daily activities with everyone like exercise classes, arts and crafts and board games. I couldn’t ask for a better group of individuals to be surrounded by, it’s truly a blessing!

UPDATE. Home is where the heart is. There have been a lot of changes over the almost 6 years since Raymond took up residence, March 17th, 2017. By far the BEST change has been the arrival of Joanne and Steve Crosby. They are a breath of fresh air! They bring discipline over the staff that had been missing and a bit more say in what happens in the home to the residents. Joanne and Steve have truly made it a HOME. An intimate family where residents have input into meals, social times and general control over their own lives again. They exercise mind and body together. Staff even join in. But most of all, they have FUN. Steve is a great cook! His nutritious meals are all prepared fresh. He has a bit of a medical background and often helps residents to better understand the meds that they need to take. Joanne is the baker - pies seem to be her specialty. It was good before they came, but with Joanne and Steve at the helm, it's GREAT. I know that Ray's in the best place he could be. He eats well, he's got people who truly care around him and he's got more control over his life. If you prefer a home atmosphere over the 'institutional' than look no further. YOU'VE FOUND THE PLACE.

If you are looking for a small retirement home this is the place. The residents become like family. The home is comfortable, clean and has wonderful staff that are caring and compassionate. The owner/operator Nadera was always a huge advocate when my Mom's health declined and she needed extra support. I cannot express how grateful I am to Nadera, Chandie and all the staff that welcomed my Mom to Tara and cared for her for 2-1/2 years. It truly became her home. Unfortunately, Mom's health declined and she had to go to Long Term Care,otherwise she would be there to this day. I highly recommend Tara Retirement Home.

My grandparents stayed at Tara Retirement Home and the service was excellent. The staff and owner cares a lot about my grandparents and all the residents. The meals are home cooked and there are lots of different activities for everyone to participate each night. The home is very clean and the staff makes sure everyone gets their medication on time. Our family couldn’t be more happier with Tara Retirement Home. I’d highly recommend Tara Retirement Home.

I’ll highly recommend Tara retirement to all friends and family. Over the years, they have given my dad great support and overall a wonderful experience in their facilities. I especially like the home cook meals they provide on a regular basis. The staff are friendly caring and Loving, making this facility not just place but a home.

PLEASE READ THIS HONEST REVIEW BEFORE TOURING TARA RETIREMENT HOME I cannot express how impressed I am with the advocacy and love of the employees at Tara. If you truly care about your loved one, consider this Retirement Home. Their communication with me while my Grandmother lived there was exceptional. They accommodated my Grandmothers needs to the best of their ability and they advocated for more care when her health began to decline. The staff were extremely nurturing and kind. They were patient with our families needs and all of our concerns. Unfortunately, my grandmother needed around the clock care due to her health decline and was reassigned to a nursing home. We will miss: Nadera and Chandie – Owners and Operators who were often seen tending to maintenance, chatting with residents and offering homemade baked bread, Nicky – Her helpful check-ins and the time she took to build rapport, Heather – Her amazing food (My Grandmothers words) and her care, Lovarlee (Love as my Grandmother called her) – Her knowledge of Hymns and scriptures to calm my Grandmother when she was anxious, Dr. Ben – He acknowledged my Grandmothers concerns first and empowered her to explain what she was feeling, The PSWs – They gave amazing care and treated my Grandmother as if she were their own. I will forever be grateful to Tara for accepting our family and making us a part of theirs. Thank you again, LH

I had an aunt who stayed at Tara Retirement Home. I must say my family and I were so happy with the way things were ran there. Moving to a large home would have been very overwhelming for my aunt, so we were pleased to find a small close knit community like Tara. The meals were made in house by the Tara staff and my aunt always said they were delicious. The residence was extremely clean and tidy. Additionally, they made things easy for my family and I as medication was managed by the staff which relieved my stresses concerning if she had taken her medication. Both the staff and other residents at Tara are loving and welcoming. Again, with it being a smaller retirement residence it really has a caring and supportive atmosphere. There are many social events for the residents to partake in including game nights, and other social events to keep everyone busy. I would definitely recommend Tara Retirement Home.
