Since the new owners took over, the food is awful. Sandwiches every night for supper it seems. The staff is always amazing and so are the residents. They really need a new chef. This is not a chef but some guy that can barely cook.

I recently joined the staff at Guelph Lake Commons. When I arrived, the beauty of the property with all the gardens took my breath away! Staff and residents have made be feel so welcome. Seeing how happy the residents are to be living here is so special to me! What a great environment!

Managing Guelph Lake Commons for the past six months and training new managers has been a great experience. The kitchen at Guelph Lake has a great Executive Chef, Kim Burke. She has a great reputation for creating great meals. Our Activities Coordinator, Whitney, is bringing lots of new activities and crafts this spring. The entire staff strive to make the residents lives fun and interesting, while keeping the gracious in retirement living. If you are looking for a comfortable place to live, where you will feel at home this is the retirement home for you

I moved in to Guelph Lake Commons in November 2021. I have made new friends and enjoy the various activities here. Meals are plentiful and varied. Staff are friendly and helpful. I appreciate having someone clean my apartment and launder my linens and towels weekly. My apartment has a patio which I will enjoy in better weather as it is overlooking lawns and trees. Moving here was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

For over a year now, I've been caring for a client privately as a PSW of many years. During the pandemic, as an "Essential Caregiver" it was a challenge but staff were very efficient, helpful and co-operative, ready to accommodate my client's needs during this difficult time. The facility is cozy looking, spacious, clean, nicely decorated (inside and out). I find the residents very social and willing to mingle. When not out and about with my client, we enjoy walking the lovely grounds. The landscaping / gardens are especially well done. With plenty of activities/ events to participate in, the days can be as full( or quiet) as one chooses.

I had a great sensation when I first walked in for a tour and people are still meeting that expectation now. Activities are broad and have such much variety that you will easily find something that you like. Moved mom in a year ago, best move we made. Looking forward to patio visits on their beautiful property

7 years + Always a pleasure moving seniors into this facility, easy to work with and have even been offered a lunch in the past. Facility is clean, well maintained and residents always seem to be happy even during this world pandemic. looking forward to continuing business with them

I have been a caretaker for 10-15 residents daily for years now, I truly love coming to Guelph Lake Commons. Wonderful staff and managers. Great place for independent living without the feel of a nursing home.

I have visited all retirement, assisted care facilities in Guelph. Guelph Lake Commons is the only facility that felt like home. Highly suggest touring if you are looking for more of a adult-living condominium with amenities. If you need care, no problem you can arrange your own care for who you desire. Con would be the meals are included for some who choose not to eat everyday but I was sent home with a meal to go during the pandemic. It was picnic style and wonderfully refreshing. My mother is 2 years away from retirement living but we are placing our bets on Guelph Commons.

Really nice place to live. Great property. Everyone is so friendly and eager to please. My aunt has lived here going into her 4th year, even during a pandemic she remains positive. My husband and I LOVE their facebook and always look forward to their new posts daily. Keep them coming.

We like the location of the building, the wide hallways and the big bright rooms. Mom likes being involved in all the activities here including exercise, distance BINGO, virtual entertainment. Its a great location with great outdoor areas to enjoy. They have a wonderful staff that is helpful and supportive. We are so so happy that we do not have to worry about mom.

We visited Guelph Lake Commons and were pleased with how nice and clean it was. The management staff was very friendly and everyone looked happy. As we drove in it was delightful to see snowmen all over the grounds. Apparently school kids came and built them. A nice touch that brought a smile to our faces.

All the staff here make it a great place to be. I feel very safe from the pandemic here as weve never had a case. Everyone takes such good care of all the residents and really try to make activities fun even during this challenging time. I love being here!

I have been a housekeeper, Server here at Guelph Lake Commons for the past year and a bit. I am always very happy to come to and I know that I am making a huge difference in our residents lives. We have excellent staff and management that support and truly care for one another. We have a lot of fun activities and great meals. I am truly happy to be part of such a great team.

Why did I wait so long ? When I decided that I no longer wanted the responsibility of owning a house, I began researching alternatives. I looked at apartments but I wasnt really interested in having to continue shopping for food. I investigated various places in town for seniors, but I had visited Guelph Lake Commons to see friends over a period of two years and found them very happy and involved. I wanted to be able to choose when and where to move instead of having to do so in a hurry - and then take what was available. When I committed to moving to the Commons, I sold my house and moved into my suite in June. I hesitated to come because of the pandemic. But since moving in I have felt safer and more protected than at home where I was having food delivered or having to shop. Its now like an adventure with three healthy meals a day, new friends to discover, and a happy environment. The staff, both dining and housekeeping, are so cooperative. Being pampered at the stage of my life feels warm and right.

Recently my mother in law had a young gentleman and his wife bring a pie to her home, she is in their database as she used to come for their holiday events. My mother was under the weather and had recently spoken on the phone to the Manager who checks up annually on my mom. This was such a kind gesture, something we do experience much of anymore. Cheers to the Staff of Guelph Lake Commons! ......and it was her favourite Cherry pie!

Dad is very happy here, has everything he needs. The staff are like family and the services are great. Dad loves playing bingo and a senior style of baseball once a week.

My mom moved to Guelph Lake in November after dad passed. She has truly been enjoying her time there. She has made new friends and met old friends that she used to work with at Imperial Tabaco. She enjoys the meals her favourite is when they have creme brûlées, mom sent this picture of a cowboy night they had, she LOVED it. Management team is great, always positive. Would recommend more parking, but it depends on the day.
