When we started looking for a place for mom, we looked for memory care staff, a homey atmosphere, a private room with space for a living area, an outdoor space, and activities to keep her engaged and stimulated. We found the perfect place with Brookdale on 71st. The people that work there are wonderful, mom has been thriving since moving there 5 months ago. She’s healthier, has gained weight and comes and goes as she pleases which gives her a sense of control which she didn’t have. We know she’s safe, content and getting the best of care from people that she likes. We highly recommend Brookdale. Check them out on Facebook like we did.

Im not a review giver kind of person. So I hope this review expresses my tremendus gratitude toward the experience my family has had since my wife entered Brookdale Tulsa in July of 2020. After 44 years of marriage, it was hard to admit for both of us to admit that my wife was following both of her parents into Alzheimers, but thats where she went. Its progress was slow for years, but accelerated after the death of our oldest daughter in 2017. By last summer my wife was halluicinating and mostly didnt know me. She had some violent times as well, and refused to take any medication. Upon entering Brookdale, she started showing improvement. We had a virtual tour due to covid, and liked what we saw a lot. They explained that people with Alzheimers generally like to be active, which was very true of my wife. At home, though, she had forgotten how to do most of the things whe wanted to do, which was a big frustration to her, creating both crying and anger, and some violence. Brookdale offers activities they have proven over the 40 plus years of dealing with Alzheimers to be enjoyable to their residents, as well as not frustrating to do. My wife is now happier that she has been in years, due to the overall environment at Brookdale. She is something of a picky eater, but really likes the food at Brookdale a lot. He countenance has changed so much that its evident she is enjoying her time there. Brooldale posts pictures of the residents doing activities on their Facebook site, and our extended family enjoys seeing them a lot. I get frequent updates from the staff, including the Executive Director, Julie Foster and Sales Manager Chasity Lewis, both of whom enjoy spending time with my wife. The rest of the staff is also very aware of my wifes condition and are available 24-7 for any questions. I cant say enough about the environment at Brookdale. She has a very small apartment, and the entire facility has a very homey feel to it. I could go on for a while, but there may be a limit i dont want to exceed. Like I said, I dont do reviews. Hope what Ive said makes sense, and helps someone to make a decision. It was the hardest decision of my life.

Brookdale staff have been wonderfull to my Dad. They treat him with kindness and dignity. As a nurse I appreciate the good health care that he receives there. Dad has hospice care also. Our family is very appreciative of all his caregivers.
