My mother was a resident in the memory care unit at The Village of Northrise. We were with her almost daily for hours at a time. There were a few professional caring caregivers; however, the staffing ratio was inadequate and if we had not been there my mother would not have received adequate care. Eventually we had to hire private caregivers at additional expense to ensure she was properly cared for. You do not get what you pay for or what is advertise; staff is not well supervised, and neither are residents. Engagement opportunities are limited during the week and non-existent on the weekends. Other than very basic care, needs for my mom were not met. The facility and outdoor space are beginning to become rundown and need to be updated. At one time this facility may have had a stellar reputation, but I did not see it; I would not recommend this facility for a loved one.

The minute I stepped into The Hallmark facility it reminded me of a cozy, well established French hotel. I’ve been a resident here for almost a year, and not only is it cozy, but it offers a sense of safety that I want in my "old age." I enjoy having a full kitchen, French doors opening to an outside patio, covered parking, and just enough social activities to make life here interesting.

Hey guys, I am Joe M. Gardner, MSgt, USAF, [Retired]. I have been living at the Hallmark for over five years now and I really like living here. I had to come down here for my health and be close to my daughter and my doctors and this was the first and only place that I looked at. Moved in here since February 2016. The people who run the Hallmark are fantastic people and the residents are very nice folks. Being here in this pandemic has been a Godsend for most of us, even though we were pretty much locked down during 2020, we are all alive and most of us have had our shots. I just want to say, it is a very good place to live.

I am so grateful for the wonderful administration and staff at Morningside. My grandmother was able to have a comfortable and safe environment during her time here. The staff went above and beyond to care for her needs and provide her with a safe and happy environment. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a home for their loved one who is facing Alzheimer's or dementia.

My grandmother resided in the Memory Care unit at Northrise and I couldn't have imagined a better facility for her to spend her last year of life. Throughout her stay, Bonnie Zeiler along with the many nurses and staff were so incredibly wonderful and accommodating, always making sure that my grandmother was comfortable and cared for in a kind and gentle manner. They truly made a difficult time so much more pleasant and my family and I are beyond grateful for their services.

Independent living changed in an instant. My mother and father both needed hospitalization followed by skilled nursing care. Thankfully, the Desert Willow unit at The Village at Northrise was able to admit them together once they were released from the hospital. Once their health improved, it was clear independent living was no longer going to be an option for them. This was not an easy reality for them to accept. The care team at Desert Willow helped us navigate those choppy waters. We were able to move them into a beautiful apartment at Morningside, the assisted living unit at The Village at Northrise. The amenities and socialization were good for them. The beautiful Organ Mountain view from their patio and an abundance of natural light helped too. As their health conditions advanced over time, it became necessary to look for a higher level of care. The Homestead Program offered memory care within The Village at Northrise campus. The Homestead Program was willing to accept and house them together as a couple. Bonnie Zeiler, the Homestead Program Director, stated it would not be in either of their health interests to separate them after 70 years of marriage. This level of considerate and compassionate caring surrounded them as they lived out the fullest extent of their lives. Challenges were met with a team approach to assist our family to make the best available care decisions within the honesty of the situations for each of our parents. We were fortunate to be supported by such a great healthcare team throughout their care. The best validation, both our parents acknowledged that this was where they needed to be to get the care they needed. Our sincere thanks to the full team at The Village at Northrise. You are all awesome!

Both my mother and father were residents in the memory care unit before their passing. There are not enough words do describe the excellent care they both received from Bonnie Zeiler, the director and her most competent and caring staff. My father was diagnosed in 2009 and passed in 2013. My mom was diagnosed in 2017 and passed in December of 2020. During their individual residencies there was never a time that I ever once doubted our decisions to give them the best care they both deserved which we found with Bonnie and the Village at Northrise.

I just want to thank Bonnie Zeiler and her team at Northrise. She is the Lead of the Memory Care Unit on site. My family and I were very hesitant about placing my Mother in any outside of home care, but it had come to a point where we had to. I will never forget the day that we arrived...the group of resident Seniors were participating in a group session that involved dance...they played the song Straighten Up and Fly right and my Mother was on her feet, dancing with one of the residents asap! I can only say to that - that GOD does have a sense of humor....I really believe my Mother benefitted from the comradery and friendship and being surrounded by others....this is just one little note that I can share and there were many. Bonnie and team THANK YOU THANK YOU for the caring and supportive environment you created for my Mother and my family. My mother received the 5 Star treatment and I will always be grateful. It was a very very difficult thing for us to move through the journey that Dementia-Alzeheimers can take you on.....I have many stories, but Bonnie and team --- YOU WERE AMAZING.

I would recommend them as a last resort ( he was in the dementia unit). My Dad was there for a little over two months and declined very fast. I feel he got the basic care but I think it should have been more personal. They lost his lower teeth which made his stay more difficult. Then after he passed I found out that the clothes and personal items I sent with him didnt make it back He had clothes that didnt belong to him. I sent his personal bed with things to protect it but they didnt get used or returned to me after he passed. His bed was stained with urine which wouldnt have happened if he was given more personal care. During his stay I was not able to visit. If I was able to see what was going on I would have brought him home. No one can match the care of a loved one that loves the one they are caring for. The staff was very friendly but lacked the compassion in my opinion.

My Mother was a resident of the Memory Care Unit during the last months of her dementia. During her time there, Bonnie Z and her staff were not only the most professional but the most caring. It was not just with my Mother, but with all of the residents. My family and I cannot thank them enough for all that they did during her time there. I was so impressed by the entire program that I began volunteering there and am enjoying myself immensely!! Thank you Bonnie and staff for caring for Mother and welcoming me!!!

My Mother was in the Memory Care unit with Bonnie Zeiler. During this time, I witnessed every day the remarkable knowledge Bonnie has about Alzheimers and other forms of Dementia. She ensures her staff are trained, demonstrates strong leadership and partners with family members. Residents are treated with compassion and respect. It is a warm atmosphere and its easy to establish relationships with staff, other family members and residents. Caring for a loved one with Dementia is incredibly hard, Bonnie and her staff help ease the way.

My mother is currently residing in the Memory Care unit at The Village at Northrise-Morningside. The care provided for my mother is something that we as a family never thought possible. Having experienced other facilities through family members that have required care, I know first hand that Northrise is exemplary. It is welcoming, beautiful, and feels like a real home. I know that my mother is in safe, caring hands 24 hours a day. She has the same caregivers on a daily basis which provides a sense of safety not only for her, but for our family as well. Thank God for Bonnie Zeiler. Without her support and help I just dont know how we couldve managed to transition my mom into a memory care facility. She answered my phone calls, texts, and emails with reassurance and knowledge. All of our fears were laid to rest, and unbelievably, moving my mom went better than we could have ever imagined. This has been the hardest decision my family has ever had to make. Without Bonnie as our angel I dont know what we would have done.

After a devastating stroke, my mother spent the last three years of her life under the care of Director Bonnie Zeiler, and her staff at The Village at Northrise Enhanced Memory Care Unit. As with any family, it was truly a difficult and life changing decision to place our mother in a long term care facility. There are no words to describe the appreciation and gratitude for Director Zeiler and her staff at the Enhanced Memory Care Support Unit. My mom was very social and loved the entire staff at Northrise, and the interaction with other residents. The staff are extremely professional and caring with all the residents. At the time my mom resided at the Memory Unit, it was pre-COVID, so we were able to come and go at any time of day or night. Many of the staff were nursing students working their way through school. Director Zeiler was present on a daily basis to guide and mentor the staff, and they were always available to answer any questions or concerns. Without the nurturing, emotional care for our mother and our family provided by Director Zeiler and her staff we could not have navigated these final phases of our moms life. We would all recommend Enhanced memory Care at The Village at Northrise without reservation.

I fell in Las Cruces on the way home from Tucson to Illinois. Fractured wrist and pelvis. But I was lucky enough to enter Desert Willows for rehab. Cant say enough good things about all of the staff from admissions, LPNs, RNs, aides, therapists, social workers. They are working with masks, gloves, gowns and still doing a superb job. Thank you. I hope I didnt leave anyone out!
