My Dad was forced after a hospitalization to move to assisted living. He was in the hospital and was very sick and went to Rehab and I was completely overwhelmed where he was going to go b/c he couldn't go home. I was so worried if he would be happy. He was an old stubborn Italian who lived in his house for 47 years. I knew he would not take to anything right away, but the staff was so wonderful that he started to acclimate in a short period of time considering... I worked a lot in the beginning with Ruth and she helped make my father feel "at home". That helped with the transition. Immediately my Dad formed a bond with his nurses and aids.. He really started to care about them. I am grateful to everyone at Mattison Crossing for the time my Father was there.. & So grateful to the wonderful people who worked there.. They all really helped me b/c they did all they could for my Dad... I highly recommend this assisted living place.. It is also my pleasure to write this review. I will always write a good review when needed b/c it's not done enough. I hope from this review to help future families who are overwhelmed and worried about their loved one's....

I have a personal and professional relationship with Mattison Crossing. Everyone is caring and compassionate. Ruth, Aida and Brittney, always communicate are always available to answer questions, follow up on the needs of their residents. If I could give Mattison Crossing 100 stars I would. I highly recommend them as one of the best Assisted Living Communities!

Had to pull my mother from this facility. My bedridden wheelchair-bound mother had a huge black and blue on the top of her foot. No one could explain what had happened or why. Called the police and made a report called the ombudsman and the ombudsman referred to the state. This is just one of many incidents. Would not recommend this place for your loved ones.

Selecting an assisted living facility for your parents is difficult. My dad has been at Mattison Crossing for just over a year now. He was quite reluctant to make the move as he lived in his home for fifty years. Dad fell and found himself unable to live on his own. I feel very fortunate that we selected Mattison Crossing. The Director, Devi, manages a team of caring supportive personnel. They really do a good job. Yes, dad says the food could be better. Overall he is quite happy here. It's comforting to know that Mattison provides a level of care that is compassionate and supportive. The physical therapy team pushes Dad to walk and he is improving! His personal assistant, Faubert is awesome. He really looks after Dad. The community is welcoming and engaging. I'm very pleased with level of care and community that Mattison Crossing provides. This is a 100% genuine review. You can feel free to contact me. I'll answer any questions. If you can get in and it fits your family budget, this is a very good option. I was making the decision you have to make just a year ago!

Had a tour with my elderly Aunt who had nothing but positive comments. Initially she was hesitant to visit. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Nice sized rooms. Plenty of activities. Book a tour for your loved one

Had to place my mom in the mattison crossing assistant living in June during the pandemic. So far I have not been able to see her room I purchased or been able to see her room and everything I have sent to her. I have only been able to visit her every 2 weeks she is in memory care and can not tell me what she needs and no one will let me in to see if she has received any thing I have sent her not happy not knowing how she is doing

I want to send a special shout out to Mary Ann who is director of Memory Care for her warmth, dedication, and the hard work she puts in every day for my mom and all the other residents living with dementia. Thanks also to Smokey, he has always been so nice to my mom and my family, and he continues to be unfailingly upbeat and kind to all the residents. I have many memories of pre-COVID times with Smokey running Bingo and sitting beside my mom and helping her with her board.

The mother of a dear friend of mine resides at Mattison Crossing. My friend is so grateful for the care her mom receives there, especially from Sandra and Monique, who are always so kind, compassionate and helpful to her mom. I have also seen it for myself when visiting (pre-Covid) with my friend. They exemplify the qualities of true caregivers and I am grateful for them too.

I have been working for Mattison Crossing for over 4 years now. I work in the business office and love my job. The staff are friendly and have become close with a few. I love talking to the residents and seeing a smile on their face. Even though we cant see each others smiles through our masks, the eyes tell all.

Thank you to Mattison Crossing for taking such wonderful care of our mom and the residents...particularly at this time. The staff is caring, friendly and its a beautiful vibrant environment where mom has lived for 2 years. She has made so many friends!! A shout out to a few who really have made a difference in our moms life....and at MC. Great leadership starts at the top, the Director Devi is truly a leader. Once she stepped into this role, MC transformed for the better. She is responsive, pro active caring and compassionate. Carmella our social director. The loveliest woman with the most fun ideas that she executes well. She always gets back to us and mom promptly, is caring And super friendly. Jaime and Elsa moms aids. Mom loves them and they are truly the best! Warm, friendly and do their job well! The Nurses...a billion thanks to the wonderful Sam and Sandra. They go above and beyond in their roles and always check in on mom when shes not feeling well and know just how to calm her nerves, which is very important for her health and well being. Janet, in the office. Mom adores her and she keeps things quite sane around there. The front desk ladies...they care, listen and are the front lines of MC! To all of you....hugs and many many thank yous Brina Waxman Daughter of Miriam Gerenstein

My mother-in-law is at Mattison crossing. When she is brought outside for Covid -allowed visits, she is accompanied by either Monique or Sandra. They are great! They show sincere care for her. While the facility may have its issues, as any facility would, its great to see two heroes at work.

I am a Care Manager and Mary Ann Biggs works in the memory care unit. She has been helping coordinate outdoor visits for myself with my client. She has accommodated me on days that visiting is not usually scheduled because she knows how important visits are with familiar faces for residents. She spends the time to get to know residents and creates a loving caring atmosphere for the residents!

I moved my parents into Mattison Crossing three weeks before Covid so unfortunately I havent been able to be in the building much at all. However, I have come to know some of the staff through e-mail, phone, and text. Devi Patel, Executive Director, has been very helpful in answering all my questions, especially since such strict limitations were put in place due to Covid so shortly after my parents moved in. She helped in anyway she could to make it as smooth a transition as possible considering the challenges of the pandemic. Carmela Silodor has been wonderful in her efforts to keep the residents busy with daily activities and coordinating outdoor visits during such a stressful time. She responds quickly to all my e-mails and answers all my questions. I would like to personally thank Sandra Bishara and Yamila Cedeno for the outstanding care they provide my mom. Sandra (moms nurse) always keeps me updated on her care and only has my moms best interest in mind. The same goes for Yamila who is my moms aide. Both women are warm and caring and go above and beyond in what they do. Sam (night nurse) is also wonderful in what he does. He calls to keep me informed should any issues arise and also answers all questions I may have. I lost my dad after only being at Mattison Crossing for four months and they were all so supportive and helpful in every way. I am hopeful that shortly all families will be allowed indoor visitation, my mom can enjoy all the amenities offered, and things get back to the way they were pre-covid.

As my Mom is about to embark on a new adventure away from Mattison Crossing, I must still point out that it is staff that make any facility a home. Not limited to these two super human beings, but, Faubert Bazin and Stephanie Santos made my mothers nearly three year stay more than comfortable. They made her feel safe and secure! We will carry them with us in our hearts to The Jewish Home Nursing and Rehab Center. My 5 star rating is specifically for them - with a shout out to Lionel, Wes, Ancey, CeCe Shanta,Renee and Ann.

There are four people who are exceptional and one who is very good, the rest are fair at best. MaryAnn Biggs can always be counted on to do what ever it takes to ensure the safety and happiness of the residents even when it is not part of her job. There has been several times when she was covering the phones or was the executive in charge on the weekend and my Mother needed something and no one else at Mattison Crossing could be bothered to help. In every instance she took care of the issue. MaryAnn should be running a facility and while I would not want her to leave she would make an excellent executive director. I would give her 5 stars. Sandra Bishara is a nurse who takes care of area where both my parents reside. She is extremely caring and good at what she does. Dealing with the elderly is not easy but she is always upbeat and ensures they get their medication and she deals with all the issues that arise. Sandra makes herself available all the time. At Mattison Crossing it is very difficult to speak to a nurse as the phone system often sends you in circles and it is rare you can reach a nurse or even leave a message for a nurse. Sandra has provided her personal cell phone so when we cannot get through we can reach her. If she is unavailable she always calls us back and takes care of all the concerns. I would give her 5 stars. Lani Hombrebuem is the aide assigned most days to my Mother. She is wonderful and ensures my Mother is cared for properly. At this point, my Mom can get confused and Lani always make sure is okay. My Mother adores Lani and it appears the feeling is mutual. I would give her 5 stars. Vito Olvieri is also a 5 star employee. When there is a problem, e.g., an aide stole my Mothers cell phone, Vito is the person assigned deal with the family. Even if we did like the outcome Vito was professional, helpful and honest. He cares and has spent much time trying to deal with my parents when things went wrong at Mattison Crossing. We really appreciate Vito. He is a great asset and Mattison Crossing is lucky to have him on their staff. Wisler takes very good care of my Dad. Wisler is generally very attentive to to my Fathers needs. For the most part they have a very good relationship. My Father seems to appreciate him. The rest of the staff in general is fair at best. The response times to pendent calls is often very slow. My Father on occasion has had to wait almost an hour for someone to check on him after pressing his pendent. Luckily, he was not having a heart attack, but the pendent system is antiquated and they do not know why someone pushed the pendent button. The pendent system in my view should be upgraded so someone can talk to the residents and find out what the issue involves. When we were allowed in the facility (before Covid) I witnessed a response time that exceeded 45 minutes when my father who is in a wheel chair and pays for the highest level of care had a real bathroom issue. They came only because I went to the nurse to complain. It turned out the aide was on a break and no one else was covering. To me this is unacceptable. My parents biggest complaint is the food. Both say the food is often horrible. In fairness as you age your taste buds change but the Chef should understand that and adjust the menu. The new Chef definitely tries. We had a conversation and he assured my sister and I that the menu would be adjusted for my parents, so my parents would get food that they like. I cant say for sure that this has happened as the complaints have continued about the food. I have not heard anyone praise the food in the over two years my parents have lived in Mattison Crossing. To be fair activities have had its up and down over time. Covid has made activities difficult. Activities led by Camila are trying hard. It is hard to review this area during Covid . I ranked Mattison Crossing 3 stars because of the employees discussed above, otherwise I would have ranked Mattison Crossing lower.

As a director, i have seen the teamwork and support that it takes to make sure our Residents know they can count on us for anything - were here for them, always! On behalf of the Kugelov family, Silvia W. would like to add that Nurse Sandra has gone above and beyond her role at Mattison and she really cares about the residents and their health and well being. Shes a gem. Simon and Silvia also commend the morning dining room servers who make Simons morning so pleasant!

Mattison Crossing has gone through many changes since my Mom first moved in over 3 years ago. Currently, the Director of the facility, Devi, is great; she is attentive, caring and responsive. The recent and long overdue renovations, particularly in Town Square, look amazing and look forward to the day when the Square can be used by the residents. This review is for the primary care of my Mom. The nursing staff has always been great. In particular, Nurse Sandra is very caring and compassionate . Moms main aide, Monique provides wonderful care and compassion to Mom as well. Two others, Jaimie and Lani deserve a shout out as they have provided stellar care to Mom.

I feel so lucky to be part of such a dedicated, compassionate team. I have only worked here for 8 months but feel like I have been part of the team forever. I started my journey at Mattison in the midst of the pandemic and saw immediately the true dedication of each team member . All of the residents truly become part of our family and it is a privilege to get to know each and every one of them.

As the Executive Director of Mattison Crossing, I am extremely fortunate to be part of such a dynamic team of co-workers, lively residents, and experienced vendors. With the pandemic,we all learned to work and live as both a team and family, doing everything we could to protect and care for our residents. I could not be any more proud of Mattison Crossing and everything we have achieved.

My parents both came to what was called The Brookside TEN YEARS AGO this month. My dad died 3 years ago, and my mom continues to live there. There have been ups and downs, depending on who owned the faciltiy, and who was the Executive Director. Right now, during the COVID19 crisis, we have been overall very happy with the way thngs have been handled. The place had always been immaculate, and they always seem to be adding something or re-doing something to the main builiding, the enterntainment has been great, and the overall care has been really nice- as with any place, some staff make more of an effort and are warmer and demonstrate more caring than others, but overall my mom has always fallen in love with a few of the workers there at any one time,. During COVID19, they seemed to do their very best to keep residents safe, to keep families informed, and to give residents as much freedom as possible while putting their safety at a premium. The nursing staff has been pretty consistently outstanding. The present Executive Director, Devi, is wonderful, and is very responsive to concerns or questions. I have only two reservations about the place- One was that we chose it initially because having a kosher place and one with a significatn Jewish feel to it was very important to us. This still exists, but generally over the years there has been a very gradual de-emphasis on this part of the facility and a loosening up of some of the more traditional Jewish emphasis. The other thing has been the food, which has always been somewhat disappointing, but particularly challenging during COVID19 when food was delivered to the rooms. We have been told many times that they are working on this, and have been disappointed in the past, but are hopeful that the present Executive Director, and new head of the ktichen will finally be able to turn this around. But when it comes to the most important things- social connection, cleanlinness and safety and health issues, and overall a caring environment, we have been pleased.

We moved our Mom here from Rehab 2 months ago. Everyone at Mattison Crossing has worked with us in every way that we have requested to make our Mom comfortable, and to feel part of the community. There is always an adjustment period, and the folks here, from nursing director to activities director et al have worked with us and kept us informed about Mom's progress. Have there been bumps in the road? Sure - as we would have expected, but on the whole, everyone has been gracious and helpful to the max. Our Mom loves her most consistent aide and for a person fussy about food hasn't voiced many complaints. We're delighted that our Mom has found a home.

I have read prior reviews and felt the urge to write one for Mattison Crossing Because they far exceeded our expectations. We have been to 4 different facilities in the central NJ area and all places are not created equal. I have read the reviews online and can attest that Mattison crossings at Manalapan have made adjustments to the feedback that has been left. Our experience is NOTHING like the reviews that have been left. My mom is living there and is thriving since she the day she arrived. The first priority is that our mom remains healthy. The nursing staff is loving, caring and very attentive to my mom and her needs. They are on the ball. I can ask them anything at any time and every nurse knows what her numbers are and how she reacted to any medicine. They observe and know anything that changes. They take the necessary calls and get direction from the doctors. Simply outstanding. My mom is on a lot of meds and they make it look very easy. Which we know is NOT!! The staff is lovely warm and caring to everyone! They stay on a great schedule with the residents. It’s been absolutely lovely. The Director Shain and her entire staff are visible and engaged with the residents. Every question and possible concern has been proactively address. It’s quite impressive. Someone from my family visits EVERYDAY and at different times and the level of care remains consistent. Not only with our mom but with all the residents. The in facility is spotless!! It’s very well maintained and clean. Based on the wonderful environment that they have created at the Mattison, the excellent health care, the caring staff and the well maintained facility our hope is to extend the independence and life of our mother. Thank you every single person at the Mattison for making this very hard decision a lot easier by proving us with the peace of mind that you are treating her as well as family.

I just wanted to say what a great activities director you have at your center. Each time myself or my husband come to see my dad he is involved in some sort of activity. I know it is a lot of work to keep the residents involved in group activities but you can see how well and Thought out and caring not only Mary Ann is but all of the staff I have met in the memory care center. I really am so happy with the choice I have made for my father. He seems happy and content. He is always smiling and involved when I come. Thank you so much for all the hard work and effort and patience that you are able to show my dad and all of the residents Thank you Dawn Sent from my iPhone
