My Mom was at Country House for 9 months, before she passed, and my Dad has been there for over a year. When my Mom arrived, she had her days/nights mixed up and wasn't eating. Within a couple months, she was sleeping at night and eating. When Mom went on hospice, she was able to stay in her own room to receive care. My Dad took longer to adjust to placement, but ultimately went from being continuously agitated, not eating and overall depressed to having regular sleeping habits, eats regularly and enjoys socializing and taking the daily bus rides. When I look at pictures of him from a year ago, I can't believe how much better he looks and feels now. When I visit him, we can enjoy our time together, which has really been a blessing as I didn't think I had many "good" days left with Dad. My parents situation was tough, for a variety of reasons. Country House and I communicated on a regular basis as Mom & Dad adjusted to their new home and we navigated weekly changes in their behavior. Even through staff turn over (which I feel is normal for this industry), I was able to stay in touch with staff and continue to work on on-going changes with my parents. Staff have always been polite and engaging with me. I appreciate them so much. When I have questions, they are always answered. Having strong communication is important, but especially important for me, since I don't live in Lincoln. Placing a loved one is scary, no doubt about it. But in the end, I'm so glad I chose Country House. Thank you for helping my parents!

My husband has been at the Country House (Old Cheney) for almost 7 years. Throughout the 7 years my satisfaction rate has been between 90-95%. This includes the pandemic, staff shortages, staff turnover. There is something that is special about the hiring process at the Country House because consistently the caregivers are hard working, compassionate and knowledgeable. I am so thankful he is at the Country House.

Our family thanks our lucky stars every day that we found Country House at Pine Lake for our mom AND dad!!!I had the responsibility to visit various assisted living facilities for our folks, butthe minute I went to CH, I knew my search was over. The director, Laura, and the entire staff, from caregivers, maintenance, kitchen, nursing and office, have been fabulous! So homey, roomy, and friendlyhe day activities the residents go on are so fun for them. Our dad, who isnt a joiner at all, doesnt seem to miss too many! Lots of work and patience for staff for a few moments of fun, soon to be forgotten. But that doesnt matter to CH!!Our family knows our folks are in a great place, with instant medical support if needed, and loving care surrounding them until they no longer need it. What more could we ask for!!!

After a lengthy search, I chose Country House at Pine Lake as the new care facility for my mother. The care has exceeded what I had hoped to find. Even with the major move from another facility, Mom did not experience the transient increase in dementia symptoms she had previously with just a room change. The director of nursing for Country House initiates contact for all her needs--office visits, changes in medications, lab results, etc. The meals are the best quality of any facility I visited. The rooms are bright and always exceptionally clean. The outdoor space is beautifully landscaped and arranged for easy access with walkers-wheelchairs. These things are important, but it is the daily care and activity that makes this facility so special. Laura, the director, has set a tone for attention to detail and constant engagement with all the residents. The entire staff seems to enjoy the work and to truly care about the residents entrusted to them. The constant engagement in scheduled daily activities (games, movies, baking, crafts, pilates, salon day, bible study, periodic outside entertainment and visits from the community, etc., etc.) as well as trips into the community several times a week (pie, ice cream, lunch, museums, movies, ball games in the summer, Lauritzen Gardens, the state capitol, even the casino!, to name a few) seem to help a great deal in maintaining activity levels, general awareness and overall mood of the residents. While there is no cure and the disease does progress, it is the multitude of special moments provided every day that create the best life possible for the residents and their families. A family support group is also available as well as special family events throughout the year. I cannot overstate my gratitude for the quality of life Country House is providing for my mother and the peace of mind that has brought to my entire family.

The time that I have spent with Country House has been nothing but full of love. The staff truly does treat the residents like family, and there isnt another place that I would send my family member for care. The people who work there truly do love what they do, you can tell just by being there.

The Staff and Leadership at the Country House on Pine Lake in Lincoln are second to none. When my mother-in-law moved into the Country House we were all in a very difficult and ugly situation. Despite the difficult situation Laura and her staff loved and cared for my mother-in-law better than I could have hoped for and our relationship improved immensely and quickly. I would highly recommend the Country House to anyone dealing with dementia.

My Mom who suffered from Alzheimers dementia spent the final 3-1-2 years of her life at CountryHouse II - and we are so glad she did! Not only did Laura Thelen and her staff treat Mom with love and dignity while taking care of her needs, but they also helped my wife and me to understand how we could make adjustments in our own behavior in order to relieve the confusion and anxiety which goes along with this awful disease. We spent quite a bit of time at CountryHouse II and never heard an unkind word exchanged between staff and resident. Not once. The daily (with a few exceptions) outings and trips (Nebraska City, Quarry Oaks Golf Course, UNL Stadium, Lincoln Playhouse to name just a few) plus programs and community service activities; all these things define their priorities in caring for their residents. We were also constantly encouraged by those around us - staff, residents, and residents families we came to know - to make the best of each and every moment. I will always be indebted to Laura and her staff. I wish I could give CountryHouse II a six star rating!

When my sister and I were looking for the right place for my mom, we spent many hours visiting places throughout Lincoln. When we came to Country House on Pine Lake we knew that it was the home we wanted for our mom. The staff is very caring and friendly. The activities that are planned get the residents out of their rooms into the community. I knowthat if I have a concern I can go to Laura and it will be taken care of. As my mom said, Even when we are crabby, they still are nice to us and take good care of us That says it all!

I have nothing but heartfelt appreciation for Countryhouse at Pine Lake staff and especially Laura. My mother has been a longtime residence and after an exhaustive search that included stays at other area facilities for the compassion, love and investment shes made in others we found have been blessed to find and be embraced by the Countryhouse family.Laura and the staff has gone the above and beyond but more importantly they have provided an environment, resources and support we never envisioned needing in the care for a loved one. She has provided her a quality of life she deserves and support to our family both professionally and personallyCountryhouse attends to every detail including meals, outings, prompt and regular community and is an inclusive environment that all residences are valued, appreciated but more importantly respectedOutside of home and on he own I couldnt see her with anyone else! Thank you Laura and the staff and supports at Countryhouse.

My father lives at the Pine Lake Country House and I cannot begin to express my gratitude, respect and love toward the Laura and her staff. They treat my dad with dignity, respect and care. They treat my family and I like we are a part of their family. Alzheimers-Dementia is such an ugly disease and it is so nice to have such loving, caring people around to help us all get through this journey.
