Whelp, it’s been a year since we moved my mom here from Raleigh. The entire staff here has been awesome! They have gone above and beyond in support of mom and family. From the initial sales discussions, through the moving in/adjustment process, to the day to day living experience over the course of mom’s first year at Brookdale. Every time we walk in and as we travel within the community building, we are always met with smiling faces and a positive attitude, from the many sweet and caring floor staff and as a direct result, from the residents as well. It’s like coming into a welcoming comfortable home to family. It took 2/3 yrs from when we first contacted Brittany in sales to when we finally were able to get mom to move here. Brittany hung in there checking in on us periodically for that entire time!! Once we got her here, as we expected, moms adjustment period was..um.. a bit…difficult, as she does not handle change of any kind very well. The staff handled this with grace and positivity as they supported mom and family through this time. Denise, the director, and her admin staff, “Q” and Tamikra, assured us that they had seen and handled this adjustment phase many, many times and that it would all be fine after a few months. We absolutely could not have gotten through it with out their constant support, shoulders to lean on, compassionate ears to listen and helpful input. And, of course they were right! The staff went above and beyond to make this a positive experience for mom. And now it’s truly her home where she knows and is very comfortable with all of the staff, residents and routine. Sydney, in recreational therapy, always has fun things planned throughout the day and is always up for a new outing/activity suggestion. Kim, head nurse, stays on top of all residents health needs and issues and her door is always open to pop in and chat. Andrew, head of maintenance, keeps a well maintained building and jumps on any personal room repair requests in a timely fashion. There has been continuous open communication demonstrated and encouraged between family and admin/recreation therapy/nursing/maintenance/floor staff via emails/calls/ in person. We are very glad we made this decision to move mom to Brookdale on Arlington. It is a warm, safe, supportive, positive senior living environment that we would highly recommend to anyone.

Brookdale has been a blessing for my mother. She was in an independent living home prior to this, and needed more assistance. She was very reluctant to change what she was used to…but after a couple weeks of being at Brookdale she happier than I had seen her in several years. The activities Director Sydney keeps the residence very busy, with art activities, field trips, bingo etc. Mom has made many friends, and she loves her room and all the surroundings. she’s very comfortable here And calls at home. and she loves it! ! She can’t say enough positive things about the nursing staff and the activities Director Sydney it has been a wonderful experience for her

Ive worked with Brittany Elks, the Sales and Marketing Manager of Brookdale on Arlington. She and the staff are incredibly prompt, professional and kind to families, especially during such a sensitive, difficult time. Good people make all the difference with assisted living facilities and Brittany is excellent.

Caring
My friend has moved into Brookdale W. Arlington Boulevard. It is very nice. Everyone is very kind, very attentive, and always pleasant to talk to. The food is very good; I have eaten there many times myself. My friend hasn't engaged in many activities yet, but there was a singer one time and she had the ladies moving around a little bit. Also there are some volunteers that play card games with them. The room is very nice.

Caring
Brookdale W. Arlington Boulevard is very nice. The grounds are kept up very nicely, and they have an inside courtyard so they don't have to leave the building to sit outside or they can go out and sit on the front porch. The location is perfect, there's a hospital right next door, and the VA hospital is within 5 minutes, so the location works out perfect for my father. My dad's room has a sitting area, a small kitchenette, a bedroom area, and a pretty good-sized bathroom that's handicap-accessible. He's safe there, and he seems happy with the food. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 8:00, noon, and 5:00. I appreciate that the place doesn't smell bad, and the people are very friendly. If there's one thing I could change, I wish somebody was at the front door so that when you go the facility, you can walk in and not just ring a bell on the front porch and wait for an employee to let you in because sometimes you could be standing outside for 15 minutes, and when you leave, somebody also has to ring you out because you cannot just walk out the door.
