I moved my mother here from a large assisted living facility, and the level of attention and care at Avendelle at Fuquay was wonderfully better. Because Avendelle is a small facility, the staff there is very present and engaged with the residents. I can express my experience as this; It's not institutional, it's a family home. I highly recommend anyone carefully consider this assisted living service, especially if one of your concerns is the level of care and attention for your loved one.

I have dealt with several assisted living centers during the past 10 years and I can honestly say that Avendelle Assisted Living is the best…by far! Their staff shows compassion and love beyond expectations. When my mother was starting to decline in one of the very large assisted living facilities, we moved her to Avendelle so she would get more personalized care and attention. The manager and staff exceeded already high expectations and within a matter of a few months, my mother was doing better physically, mentally, and emotionally. The staff treats residents as if they are family…and my mom felt that love. I did too. The home-like environment they provide made a world of difference in the care and attention she received. If your loved one requires assisted living, you want their days filled with joy, memorable moments, and the feeling that they are genuinely cared about…not just cared for. Avendelle assisted living is the epitome of what a great assisted living facility can be. Management is outstanding and each staff member who cares for your loved one become friends that you will cherish forever.

My father, who was on Hospice and recently passed, was a resident at The Haven @ Fuquay for a short time. He had moved from a large memory care community to this smaller setting where he could receive more 1:1 care. This move was the best decision we could have made for him. From the moment he moved in, it felt like home. The care team (and administrators Chinh & Ann) treated him with such warmth as did the other residents—very very sweet. We were very involved with the care of our father and were completely comfortable that he was indeed receiving the highest level of care. The team worked with Hospice to understand all of my father's needs and adapted as was needed. Where I had any questions or concerns, they were addressed in a very timely manner. During my father's last week, the entire team went over & above to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. During this time, many relatives who are very familiar with dementia/assisted living/memory care came to visit. All of them were amazed to see a home like this in a lovely neighborhood setting, where you come in and you can see the personal care first hand--as was our Hospice team and Doctors Making House Calls. I cannot say how many times I walked in to the smell of something wonderful being prepared in the kitchen, the group of residents sitting in front of the fireplace watching their “shows” or just doing their own thing, or playing cards. It felt really good to peek in the front door and see my father sitting next to one of the caregivers having a conversation or just being near her – the human touch. For anyone looking for a home for their loved one, I highly recommend The Haven @ Fuquay. I wish we had known about The Haven @ Fuquay (including the other Haven Family Care Homes) sooner.
