This was my favorite job. I worked here for about 3 months straight last year I ended up quitting due to moving & also the fact that the supervisor was trying to fire me for not coming in but didn’t even give me my own schedule but if I had it my way I would of stayed.

Medicare, Medicaid accepted. Located just south of Antioch Rd. (Missouri side). Looks deceptively small from the outside but is actually laid out quite well. Clean and quiet, nicely decorated. Staff seemed friendly. Multiple common rooms, dining room, nurse station, cozy sitting areas, snack and game room with kitchenette, vending machines, small tables, and a pool table. Single and double rooms with en suite bathroom. Piano and organ. Daily activities including, but not limited too, Wii bowling, crafts and Bible study. Light cleaning, trash and linen service provided. Various levels of assisted living including medication dispensing and on-site nurse. Would recommend as an affordable mid-range facility.

Ive been an employee here for about a month now and there is nothing but GOOD things to say about this place. All of the employees have been so kind and welcoming and have been nothing but nice since I have started working here. I love all of the residents here and Cara, the executive director always puts the residents before herself and is constantly trying to do everything she can to please everyone. I would recommend this place to anyone for a loved one if they are needing a place to live! ❤

I have worked in healthcare as a CNA since 1998. When I accepted a PRN position at Avonlea Cottage in April 2018 it was basically to retain my credentials while I pursued other career options. After the first of the year Avonlea Cottage became Heritage Avonlea Cottage when Dave S became our managing owner. Transition can be worrisome for the elderly population when life becomes uncertain. When the position of Transportation Coordinator became available I applied for & accepted that position, mostly to be a face of constancy & stability for the residents I had come to love. Menu changes & staff changes were some of the challenges our residents faced but through it all theyve been troopers. Its been several months since the transition began & the overall atmosphere of our community has been elevated to one of wellness. I can honestly attribute this to the leadership we now have. Dave (owner), Cara (Administrator), Melissa (DON) & Tiffany (Dietary Manager) make tough decisions on a daily basis with the sole purpose of providing the best possible lifestyle options for our residents. I witness them leading by example & getting their hands dirty with the day to day operations of the facility. Their doors are always open to residents & staff alike for whatever concerns need to be discussed. Heritage Avonlea Cottage is a great place to work. In comparison to other healthcare facilities Ive worked it has to be an amazing place to live also.Wether Im driving the bus or utilizing my nursing skills I hope to meet your loved one soon. This facility has gone through lots of changes in the last 10 months. Things have improved drastically and for the better in the last few months. It has such a home like environment, consistent staff, large rooms, great food, and great activities. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for loving home for a family member or friend.

I cannot say enough about the staff at Avonlea they are first class starting with Cara the administrator all the way down. They truely care for each resident and go out of there way to make everyone feel at home everyday.

My mom has lived here for 8 years. The attentiveness of the staff, effort and attention shown by the owner (you will never see an owner of a facility landscaping or putting groceries away), the variety of activities for residents (and some including their families) ensures constant, optional entertainment, the director actually cares about her residents as if theyre her own family and the location is perfect! You wont find another facility of this caliber for this price. Oh! And the food - has flavor! I seriously cannot say enough good about the turn around of my moms home. Thank you, for taking such good care of her when Im unable to.
