I recently helped an 85 yr old friend make a decision to leave her home of 40 years after several months of health struggles. She was in an extended care facility for four weeks after a week's hospitalization. After resisting friend and family suggestions over the last few months that she leave her home, she felt liberated once she had made the decision to move into the Clarendale. She looks at it as a new adventure in her life for herself and her beloved cat, Sophie. The decision was made easier with Lynne Sugarman's help. She came to the care facility to meet my friend and to share information about living independently at the Clarendale. Lynne was compassionate, patient and personable. Fherryl Hannah also came to the facility to explain more of the details of living at the Clarendale and for my friend to sign the papers securing her two bedroom apartment. Both Lynne and Fherryl were respectful of both my friend and I as they answered our many questions. Knowing that she was starting a new chapter in her life in a modern, light filled apartment, in not just a facility, but a supportive community, inspired my friend to overcome some of her anxieties associated with the physical challenges she faced in her physical and occupational therapy sessions. She made remarkable progress in the following three weeks that allowed her to independently walk out of the rehab facility and into her new home at the Clarendale. She loves the roof top terrace and her 9th floor balcony looking to the south. Heather Cox was very helpful in the transition and within just days of moving in my friend has already had both PT and OT sessions with skilled and personable professionals. Muriz Smajic was friendly and efficient getting grab bars installed in both bathrooms. Each time I have visited, I have found the front desk attendants friendly and helpful. My friend is doing remarkably well, getting stronger and delighting in being able to do tasks on her own. Yesterday she shared her delight in being able to make coffee for herself in a very long time. She is happy to discover after meeting several other residents that she's living in a diverse community of friendly people.

What a beautiful, hospitable and clean facility. The staff and environment was welcoming and cozy and the residents seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. I would recommend taking a tour if you or your loved ones are looking for independent living and aging in place. Ask for Lynne - she was so helpful in explaining the process and answering important questions.

I am very happy to have found Clarendale -- a remarkable community into which my parents will be moving. Not only are the facilities, food, and accommodations five-star, but the team (Jennifer, Jen, Andrea, Lynn, Heather, Brant, and the many staff members I've met so far), are simply extraordinary. They have all gone above and beyond to provide the very best solutions for my parents, and demonstrated to me that they will stop at nothing to make sure my parents are comfortable and well looked after. I am grateful to have found such a fantastic team, and beyond relieved to know that my parents will be in very good hands.

Tuesday, February 13, 2024! . I attended the Clarendale's "Share the Love" Downsizing presentation. I found the information presented very informative and everyone involved very welcoming. While there, I was given a tour of the facility by Lynne Sugerman, Residency Counselor. It was a true delight meeting with Lynne and other staff members of the The Clarendale Clayton. The facility is impressive and each apartment I toured was beautiful. During the tour I was introduced to several residents and each one of them expressed how happy they are living at The Clarendale Clayton. After the tour and the downsizing presentation was a Social Hour which included food prepared by the food service staff. Everything was delicious!!! Phil Wright

JENNIFER was outstanding from the beginning. Her knowledge, understanding and attitude was great! I toured Clarendale Clayton with Lynne and Alyssa. I had contacted them the day before in regard to my parent's needs. By the time I had arrived the next day my needs had changed, yet they still sat with me and discussed care. They were not concerned about the fact that I would not be bringing my parents to live there. They were concerned about me and my parents. They provided so much insight into the difference between memory care and independent care. I did tour the facility and the memory care area was outstanding compared to where my parents were currently residing. If memory care was where my parents needed to be I would move them here in a heartbeat. They also showed me the rest of the facility and it is top notch. If I did not live so far away, I would move my parents into the assisted living here.

I toured Clarendale recently with Lauren. She was very welcoming and the community is just gorgeous! Lovely roof top gathering area, spacious rooms, cozy yet upscale decor, many amenities to offer, and warm residents and staff. I was very impressed and would recommend that anyone looking for independent, assisted, or memory care in the area make sure to stop by and see what they have to offer.

The entire place is high class. So many beautiful, comfortable public sitting areas with fireplaces, large screen tv's. Daily activities are scheduled. The dining areas are bright with colorful furnishings. The atmosphere is very welcoming. They aren't missing anything. Rooms are spacious enough and come equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave. Laundry services are provided. I was quite impressed with the facility and the personnel. Everyone was smiling and very friendly. The Clarendale Clayton deserves a 5 star rating.

So it's been almost a year and a half since I posted my initial review (of the sales person clinched the deal.) Now a resident I want to complement Amber, a server in the dining room. Like so many places the Clarendale has been fighting to keep good staff and Amber is among the very best. It's not easy to work with senior citizens but Amber is always thoughtful and smiling. She clearly wants to be sure each patron is properly served. We all appreciate Amber and are thankful for her.

We moved into a Clarendale of Clayton Independent Living Apartment at the end of June and truly love our apartment and the facility as a whole. My now husband I had been together for 30 years and recently decided to get married. The wedding was held on the picturesque12th floor of the Clarendale and was absolutely wonderful. The employees could not have been more helpful and excited for us and they continue to be so caring and lovely. I can only rave about this facility and the wonderful employees who care so much about each and every person here. The Clarendale of Clayton is a wonderful newer facility that should be carefully considered by all.

On May 10, due to electrical work scheduled by the City of Clayton, there was an almost 5 hour electricity outage at Clayton Clarendale. I had forgotten to move my car out of the Garage early in the morning before the electricity was cut off so I decided to go the garage to see what was happening. Certainly , the elevators would not be operating. In the Hallway I found some overhead lights were on and, using a back -up generator, one elevator was working. As this is a 13 story building that was a great relief. There were small electric lanterns placed in the elevator and along some hallways. I descended to the parking garage and there was our Plant Operations Manager, Muriz Smajic, on a stepladder manually opening the exit door so residents could move their cars in and out of the garage. The dining room remained open all day and there was hot food being served. Activities were conducted as usual This was a stellar example of pre-planning and teamwork by the maintenance crew determined to accommodate the needs of the residents. My 3 night visit was pleasant. The staff was courteous and friendly. The apartment was spacious, clean and well laid out. The mattress was very comfortable- an important feature for me. The bathroom was spacious this includes the stall shower which I much appreciated. I made use of the exercise room and was happy with equipment although I suggest you add 20 and 25 pound dumbbells. The convenience of having transportation to and from the Arch was great. Finally the restaurant. Breakfasts were good. The menu had what I consider an excellent selection and the staff was attentive and courteous. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Every day has been a thrill to do my part to help with the well-being of the residents. The staff has been extremely accommodating in assuring I have the best available equipment, space, and recourses to accomplish such wonderful goals. The community is so bright, warm, cheerful, and enthusiastic with so many amazing people who make it an ideal living space for senior residents. The activities are endless, the food is amazing, and the staff goes above and beyond for everyone! Clarendale Clayton is a dream home for the senior community and it brings me great joy to see how it has grown in less than 2 years!

This community is amazing. The people who live there are inviting, interesting and varied. We felt welcome from our first step in, and enjoyed the high-end hotel vibe. We fell in love with the beautiful high rise and incredible views from upper floors. The common rooms are exquisite, Im not kidding! The floor 12 balcony is worth the move, on it's own. The sales team is ingratiating and super friendly. There are no high-pressure tactics, but they are happy to make little incentives (and even clue you into an upcoming special!). Our contact person, Jennifer L. is friendly and personable, we never felt pushed or pressured. I'm sorry that this incredible facility is over our budget, but I could not pass up this opportunity to let other know about Clarendale. Even if you can't afford it, please go see it. It will be your comparison point for any other facility.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch with Lynn Sugerman in the first floor restaurant. During lunch Lynn answered all questions regarding living at the Clarendale Clayton. After Lunch we toured the facilities and saw three Condos - one and two bedrooms on the 2nd, 4th and 10th floors. We left soon after with a VERY positive view towards the Clarendale. We cut our search for independent Sr. Living short after touring The Clarendale Clayton. From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcome. The friendly and competent staff was clearly service oriented and had the answers to all of our questions. The building is safe and beautiful! The way the sunshine floods the lobby is lovely and uplifting, if you love sunshine like we do. My 90 year old mom, blessed with health, made the transition from Sr. Living in Springfield, MO with ease. The attention to detail from the business office to the move-in coordination was impressive because they were so very responsive throughout the whole process. The location is perfect for our family and is close to anything and everything she might need or want - food, shopping, entertainment, parks and culture. We are genuinely pleased in circumstances that can often be difficult for families. Also - the food and dining atmosphere has been exceptional (facing the present day challenges, everywhere, for food service). It has been a month now since she moved in and the residents have been friendly and pro-active to help her feel a part of the community and participate in the many activities to choose from. The Clarendale Clayton has exceeded our expectations!

Lynne S.gave us a very comprehensive tour and a complimentary lunch. I thought the atmosphere was vibrant and very resident driven in its approach. The menu was great and the food was amazing. Unlike many places we visited, meal times were flexible and breakfast foods were available even for dinner if requested. The floor plans were resident friendly, modern and very bright, with lots of light. The activities and resources available to residents were everything and more you could want from fitness to a movie theater to club like setting for gatherings. Whatever my mother decides, I'll be considering this for myself in a couple of years !
