We designed the dining area at The Legends of Columbia Heights to be a cozy, home style setting for our residents and family members. I Visit my mother at the Legends often and it is really nice, especially for a senior living community. Everything is new, as the building was built last year in 2018. Residents have their own washer and dryer in their unit, granite counter tops, nice size bathrooms and plenty of closet space. The only thing my mother and I were not satisfied with was the staff and how they handled my mothers move in. My mother applied and was promised a 2 bedroom once one became available. When it did we were notified and scheduled to put a deposit down and to view it. Our appointment was moved to the following day because of a snow storm, and the staff guaranteed us that my mother would still have her 2 bedroom, but when we arrived to view the 2 bedroom at our scheduled time the managers had gave the 2 bedroom to someone else. My mother is immobile and has always had a live in PCA-Nurse to assist her. My mother ended up stuck with a 1 bedroom and no explanation or remorse for misinforming her. By the way, this is not the current staff. Its funny that by the time my mother moved in, 2 of the women we worked with were no longer there or have transferred.
