My mom spent a month in this facility for respite care and I was blown away by the level of care she received. Amber and the rest of the staff are kind and hard working individuals, always ensuring my mom received the best care. To all the staff at this location thank you! To anyone debating about placing a loved one here, don't worry, the staff will certainly take excellent care!

My mother lived at Hampton Manor until the end of her life. She moved from an Independent Living setting to this Assisted Living. I cannot express how grateful I am to the Staff and Administrators at Hampton for the care she received. Thankyou Amber and Zak!!!! They are a compassionate and caring group of people at Hampton Manor. They cared for Mom and took the time to get to know her. I recognize that working and caring for sick and elderly people is not an easy job. You all deserve God's Blessing for the work you do.

My Mother in Law resided at Hampton Manor of Shelby for 14 months. During that time she was well taken care of by the staff. The staff there have difficult jobs to do and work very hard. It can be emotionally and physically demanding work so I appreciate them showing up everyday to take care of the elderly residents. My Mother in Law loved the food there and met several other residents that became her good friends. I would definitely recommend Hampton Manor of Shelby to anyone looking to place their loved one in assisted living.

My father lived here for 10 months until he passed. The care and compassion received from the staff and administration was above reproach. They were very attentive and loving when it came to the care of my father. They even helped when he needed hospice care and pointed me in the right direction. They were very open and willing to help in any means necessary. Amber and her staff ensured that all our family's needs were met. I would recommend Hampton Manor of Shelby to anyone who is looking for care and comfort of their loved ones.

To Management of Hampton Manor. You have misstated several things in your reply to my review of your facility. You never invited me to come there to discuss this matter. That is a false statement. If you had said that to me I would have been willing to discuss her broken hip in further detail with you. You just took the defensive attitude of it did not happen there because no one reported a fall to management. And that your staff were not afraid of getting in trouble if someone had an accident or fall. My sister Donna did not walk out of your facility as you state in your reply because she could not walk on her own. She was wheeled out in her wheelchair to me and my car because of the quarantine by two of your staff nurses. Germaine pushed her in the wheelchair and Kathleen gave me her personal belongs, clothes and medications and had me sign for them. Germaine assisted Donna into the front seat of my car. You stated to me that every one said she could bear weight and maybe she did on that leg with assistance by Germaine to get into car but I was busy with Kathleen and did not see how she got her into my front seat but that didn’t mean it did not hurt her. It was on the way home to my condo that Donna said her hip was hurting on her right side when I asked her why she was leaning towards me in the car. It was when we were almost back to my home that she told me that one of your aides dropped her in the bathroom on the floor and it hurt a lot or I would have come back to your facility to discuss this matter. I asked her when it happened as no one called me to report this fall as her Legal Guardian I should have been told. She was not sure what day or time it happened as her she did not keep track of the days there and mostly laid in bed depressed and did not talk or complain but was in constant filth from not being changed often enough. I have pictures that one of the people that visited her took of how soaked the bed linens were and she was full of BM and urine. Also an aide was never around snd had to be searched for by her visitors (there were 5 people who visited Donna and this was always the way it was when they got there) Donna could not remember the aides name either. Donna had the start of Dementia so had no concept of her days or people’s names. But it was sometime from the start of the quarantine there because of COVID-19 in the middle of March 2020 and when I picked her up on March 30, 2020. I also called you after I got back home not several days later as you stated in your reply (and not sure where you got the shower statement from) to discuss the issue and how upset I was but had to leave a message with one of your ladies in the office that I was very upset that Donna was hurt there and no one reported it. I could not get her out of my car by myself so had a male neighbor help me get her into the house and onto my sofa. I examined her after that and saw that her right hip and upper thigh was swollen and she had several bruises. I then checked her Depends and whoever cleaned her up and dressed to leave your facility did not do a very good job as she had several areas of BM on her bottom from not being cleaned good. You did then return my cal but was definitely on the defense. So your reply to my bad Review on Google about your facility had several incorrect statements. Yes I called the State of Michigan to report you and your staff for causing my sister to have a fractured hip and needed surgery to repair it. The surgeon stated to me on the phone and in his surgical report that her fractures were 2/3 weeks old as he could tell when he got into her hip to repair the breaks. So this proved it happened at Hampton Manor and not caused by me and anyone outside of your facility. I was out of state during that 2 to 3 week timeframe. I just wanted you to acknowledge that it could of or did happened there and it was not reported. I did not like the rude and argumentative person you were to me and taunted me after the State of Michigan determined there was no definite proof from the medical records you had shown her on Donna and talking to Kathleen your head nurse. I saw some of the comments I you had in her records and you stated that Donna had a disruptive behavior while there and that is so far from the truth I could not believe what I was reading. Donna was depressed and never spoke up and just wanted to lay in bed all the time. So how was that disruptive? I also heard personally from a former staff member that worked there that there were several times that patients were dropped snd not reported to management. This same employee said you hired people without any specific nurses aide training and you did not want the nurses to put so much detail in the patients medical charts snd she was reprimanded fir doing so. So if you would have actually been willing to talk to me about my concerns and the facts of my sisters care I would not have had to write this bad review and now reply back to your incorrect statements. I just don’t want this to happened to anyone else’s family member in the future. There were two other items I was not happy about her care that I will mention here and one way that my sister was suppose to have PT ordered for her after she transferred from Shelby Health snd Rehab but I had to call and complain several times about why that was not done until a week before the quarantine started so she only got an initial assessment and maybe 1 visit until they were not longer able to come there because of COVID 19. S as bd your house physician put on her a medication without discussing it with me as her Legal Guardian. So to end this long and terrible review, I had to get all of the horrible care given to my sister out there for others to know and maybe think twice before letting their family stay there. There are many good facilities that care about the patients and there family but sadly Hampton Manor is not one of them in my opinion and experiences.

On the surface, beautiful, clean, great amenities, good food. Below the surface. They will smilingly tell you if you need anything or if there are any problems bring it to our attention. But do not make the mistake of bringing any complaints, even small ones or at least some of the sweet faced, smiling, lying, backstabbing caregivers will whine to the ironfisted, manager with a God complex who passes the buck on his responsibilities to the girls who work there. He will tell you for the high price you pay for your loved one to be incarcerated during Covid-19 what you can and cant do pertaining to your parent regardless of his authority to do so. The actual resident does not seem to be a priority to him. Appears its his quest to put the hush on any negative feedback and he will in fact wage a personal war and illegally ignore & exclude you from contributing, being informed, being included or acknowledging questions in the general, concern & welfare of your loved ones life unless you are the appointed POA even though not everyone has one and it only pertains to issues involving medical and financial needs not average everyday needs and general questions. They are cold and uncaring and do not respect the families and how hard and stressful it is at present to put a parent in a place like this. After you pay the first months rent it all changes. This is supposed to be assisted living, not incarcerated living. Residents are brought to scheduled visits through a window Covid style to see their families with spilled dried food stains on their clothing, no sweater in the middle of winter shivering with crossed arms and hair all sticking up. Please people, details count, little things mean a lot and show there is a caring concern here not just all business. Either hire more help or put on some overtime hours. Most of all act like you are caring for a persons family member not a zoo animal.

Hampton Manor of Shelby is an EXCELLENT assisted living location. My dear Aunt had a stroke over a year ago and after rehab I went to three locations and Hampton was #1. The management and staff keep me posted as to how she is doing etc., updated with the COVID testing of the residents weekly and keep them in quarantine so that the virus does not affect them (the best they can). I cant say enough for Hampton, keep up the good work, I really appreciate ALL of you!!!

This place is beautiful. I am so excited to work here. I have been a caregiver for over 30 years. So it is always a great feeling when you find a place that matches your beliefs about resident care and professionalism. How that got any bad reviews and havent even opened yet is beyond me. In my experience. It must be a disgruntle employee. Come out and see for your self. The adminstrator (Richard) and Resident Care Director (Patricia) put the care back in caregiving. We hope to see you!

This place is wonderful. My grandma lives here and my family and I have seen such a huge improvement in her happiness since shes been here. She has dementia and the staff takes such wonderful care of her —they make sure she always has fun activities to do and just watch out for her well-being. The staff is amazing; especially Patricia, Jill, Dee, and Kay. Rich is the director and has such a good heart as well. They did a wonderful job picking their staff. They always make sure grandma is safe and happy, and are super reassuring to our family that grandma is being taken care of. Thank you so so much

Our family feels good knowing that the Chef provides a variety of nutritious meals. Food and snacks are available anytime. Care Managers provide water with a hug and a smile. The Nurse and Med team dispenses her medication as prescribed. Our family feels good knowing she has social activities provided along with various outings for her to socialize. We are blessed.

We spent 18 months looking for the right place to meet the needs of our 91 year old father. We finally found it when Hampton Manor of Shelby opened. Hes been there for 2 months. The staff and the facility exceeded our expectations. Weve been overwhelmed by the kind, caring, and attentive caregivers. Weve developed a deep affection for the people who have treated our Dad with such warmth and respect.
