My dear friend has been at Waltonwood for five months. It was very a traumatic change for her as she broke her hip and will not be able to return to her home. She is a very independent woman with a sharp mind, so this was really emotional for her. The staff has been very attentive and caring. The activities, weekly entertainment and off-site outings is a big plus for Waltonwood. All the staff are very compassionate and caring to the residents. As a caregiver, it is comforting to know that she is safe and well taken care of.

There is a beacon of light at Waltonwood Main in the memory care unit and her name is Kathleen Sable Colonello. She has the ability to spread joy to all. Her loving care and gentle enthusiasm spreads to all of those she cares so lovingly for. She was the light for my 97 year old mother and during the covid when I was not able to visit she cared for her as I would and I knew that at least for part of my Mothers Day she would feel like she had loving arms around her. Kathleen is a very special and beautiful person .

Liz McMurtrie is a Life Enrichment Manager at Waltonwood on Main in Rochester, MI. Over the last several years Liz, and her assistant Kirsten, have provided exceptional care for my mother who just turned 100 years of age this past August. Due to the pandemic, it has not been possible for my brother and sister that live nearby to visit in person but Liz was able to coordinate weekly video chats with my mother for not only my brother and sister there in Michigan, but my sister and me living New England. This has been invaluable to us enabling us to carry on conversations with our mother providing her with the necessary family support she so desperately requires. Each week, Liz calls me for a video chat with my mother which typically lasts for over an hour. I greatly cherish this time with her which I recognize is my only form of personal interaction due to the pandemic. Liz affable personality is a great comfort to my mother and is evidenced by my mothers countenance when Liz interacts with her. My family and I are tremendously grateful for the loving care that Liz as well as countless others at Waltonwood provide on a daily basis keeping our family at ease knowing that our mother is receiving a supreme level of care.

Since Mom moved into Waltonwood at Main three years ago, a big highlight for our family has been Life Enrichment Manager Liz McMurtrie! It is obvious she genuinely enjoys interacting with the residents, and her kind and happy demeanor is infectious. Lizs Enrichment team played a major role in pulling Mom out of a slump and back to smiling and enjoying life again. During the painful separation caused by Covid, our family has been so grateful for our weekly Zoom meetings with Mom that Liz and Kirsten have cheerfully facilitated. Liz has made one on one visits to Moms room with personalized activities. She also assists her with opening and reading her cards and letters, and helps her go to church online weekly. She even decorated Moms apartment for her during Christmas, tree and all! What a comfort that was for our family! We are also very grateful for the dedicated and cheerful caregivers that go the extra mile to take care of Moms daily needs.

My mother has lived at Waltonwood Main in Assisted Living for about 3 years. It is a lovely facility and she has been well cared for. Our family has been especially impressed by Life Enrichment Manager Liz McMurtrie. She has been so caring and attentive to our mom and extremely helpful to our family, especially during these very painful times of separation during COVID. Liz demonstrates her care and compassion to the residents without fail, and Mom is very comfortable with her. She is also full of creative ideas for fun and engaging activities for the residents. We are so thankful for Liz and all the wonderful staff members at Waltonwood Main!

The staff are compassionate and consistently responsive to questions and requests I may have, including helping to ensure visual contact with Mom during the difficult time of COVID-19 shut-down and isolation. As a vendor, being at Waltonwood on Main and observing Kathleen, I could see that her relationships with the residents were very tender and loving. Its crystal clear that she is very caring toward them. The compliments Kathleen has received are real. How wonderful when someone recognizes the work you do, especially when you dont expect it (like Kathleen), but do it because you care and love your job. Kathleen is also a true professional who is on top of her game in her position at Waltonwood.

My dad spent two years at Waltonwood at Main with Kathleen leading the day-to-day activities in memory care. Since my dad was a people person who loved to be busy Kathleens program was just what he needed. She can find those special activities that turn on the light within each person. My brother and I often participated in activities: apple picking, donut dashes, cookouts, flying kites at Stoney Creek park, outings to the zoo to name just a few. It made for fun experiences for the whole family.My dad turned 101 while there, not only enjoying the experiences but became more interactive and alert. I remember when he was playing cords on a patio after listening to the guest pianists. He had never played an instrument and was quite hard of hearing even with his hearing aid, so we were amazed. He was even Santa one year, a role he used to play when us kids were little, or for any neighbors children.On those bad days there was a special room where he could become re-centered and relax by touching textured fabrics or watching lava lamps. Our family experience was wonderful, and I hope that you can share in similar experiences with your family at Waltonwood at Main.

The Life Enrichment Team is outstanding at Waltonwood Main. Kathleen truly cares about the residents and keeps them engaged. Im sure this has been extremely difficult especially during the Covid-19 pandemic; but she has figured out a way to continue these activities with all the restrictions.

My Aunt is in the Memory Care program and I have been very impressed with the enrichment program activities . My Aunt appears to participate in a variety of trips and activities and tell me she is very happy there. Kathleen is very helpful to her and me sharing pictures of activities and letting me know how Connie is doing.I appreciate this very much .I also appreciate the care she is receiving from all the staff and they are quick to inform me if there are any issues that require my attention. Good job and I especially appreciate the work of the staff during these challenging times with Covid.

My Dad has been at Waltonwood for 7 years. He has not always been easy, but he has always been treated with the utmost respect and care. The apartments are wonderful versus the single rooms in many other care facilities. They make it feel more like home than an institution. Monthly, there are fabulous family activities; Easter with barnyard animals, Halloween with trick or treating; Christmas dinner, old car show, picnic in the park, etc. Bands are frequently brought in for entertainment. Weekly outings are well thought out and varied as are the in house activities. The current director, Jeff, is incredibley patient, always smiling, and goes above and beyond the call of duty. When my time comes, I want to go to Waltonwood!
