Our 93 yr. old mom, Jean, recently returned to live at Woodlands Assisted Living Community in Middle River. She lived at Woodlands in 2019- March 2021, but moved to live with her daughter in Florida during the pandemic. She decided to move back to Baltimore (her hometown) in February, 2023. We (her Baltimore family) are thrilled to have her back home, but dreaded the transfer process. To our pleasant surprise, Woodlands staff worked very hard to make the transition as painless as possible. The Director, Karen, was very welcoming and connected us with Jason Colenzo, the Director of Community Relations. He has been extremely kind and helpful. He met with us to provide the necessary paperwork , show us available rooms, and even made arrangements so we could receive delivery of our mom’s belongings from Florida and decorate her room before her arrival. He has been a godsend and responds quickly to any questions and/ or concerns. The facility’s building staff, Kerry and Melissa, helped us get boxes and furniture to the room and assisted us with any handyman jobs needed. The nursing staff (Jackie and Vera) assisted us in getting all the necessary medical forms and interviews completed in a timely manner. Since moving in, our mom has been welcomed by the staff and aides and has made many new friends to spend time with during her days. She enjoys activities with Starr, the weekly musical performers, chair exercise, and just hanging with the residents in the main room. We attended a St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ party last week and the main room was decorated cheerfully and there was a delicious buffet for all to enjoy. It was a good day! Our mom has adjusted very well to her new surroundings with the help of a warm and helpful staff. We are greatly relieved that she feels comfortable in her new secure environment. Thanks to all who have welcomed and assisted mom. It is much appreciated.

I attended a networking event here in January 2023. I work in senior living and have seen all sorts of assisted livings and long term care facilities. To be honest, I was not expecting much considering The Woodlands is a stand alone community, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It is beautiful, the residents look cared for, clean and happy. There is a large courtyard area that the residents can use for events and meals when it’s nice outside. The team there was very welcoming and all departments were present at the event. You can tell they are a tight-knit team who work well together. The memory care area is especially nice, with a spring garden mural painted in the hallway. They seem to have a lot of activities and live music going on for the residents on a regular basis from what I see on social media. It also is not overpriced in comparison with higher end communities. You’re getting a value here and the care seems just as high quality. Sometimes it’s about the people rather than just updated aesthetics. Great job, team!

Nurse forgets it is assisted living and not a nursing home or hospital . If your relative is very capable she seems to want to make her dependent on her . Some of the food could be better . People are very friendly and loving . Rooms are nice and decorations in the entire place are very nice . . We research 6 places in the area and liked The Woodlands the best .
