Our family is so grateful for the wonderful caring and assistance provided to our Mom, Sylvia, during her final years, by all of the staff of River Ridge. We felt that she was being kept so incredibly safe that it provided a great comfort to the entire family. The compassion showed by all of the staff to our Mom was amazing. Mom made some great friends at River Ridge and was very thankful for the wonderful programs provided. A huge "thank you" to all the staff.

Sorry but I have not have the same experience. Company is extremely money hungry staff can barely speak English and cannot even assist the resident that I’ve been diagnosed with dementia and early onset Alzheimer’s, therefore causing more confusion, cutbacks terrible place. My parents are coherent but they’re therefore a reason because of their past health issues and they see everything that’s going on the good staff doesn’t stay because they deserve to be treated better.

Transitioning our loved one, with dementia, between provinces and the health care system over the last two years has been stress free with the professional team at River Ridge II. Beyond words.. It has taken me a long time to write this review and with good reason. Taking over 2 years to write it has given me even more wonderful things to say. I'll start with the quick things that are awesome -Beautiful Building. Friendly, warm, inviting, luxurious are what comes to mind. The dining room has a outdoor space that looks out on to the river. wow -Food is great -Apartments are spacious and up to date. -Services are great (except the hairdresser lol) The independence that residents still have is amazing. I would move here if they would take me! Employees.. wow the employees. I don't even know if you could call them that. They become family. They are the reason River Ridge 2 is amazing.. To say they go the extra mile is an understatement. They consistently go above and beyond any expectations you may have had. Shout out to Chassity, Vanessa, Maria, Zadenka (I doubt I spelt that right). Longer version My aunt and father in law were both diagnosed with dementia at the same time and were no longer able to live independently. Both were in poor health due to their declining ability to care for themselves. My father in law during the tour was barely able to make the short walks to the different areas and needed to rest frequently. My aunt was unable to walk without pain and would spend a lot of time in bed. A short time after moving in, their health drastically improved. They were getting out of their rooms and visiting with others. They were getting consistent nutritious meals. The staff at River Ridge has made the last years of their lives filled with joy. The amount of care that they give to their residents is comparable to none.

I was very apprehensive to uproot my father and his wife who have dementia and place them in a facility even though I knew it was the right thing to do for them. The staff were so very friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly supportive through the whole process. They were fabulous with me initially during the first tour, then with arranging to have their belongings packed and moved to River Ridge II, to welcoming my father and his wife. I was so worried the transition would take a long time for both of them but within a couple days they were quite settled. They have been there for 6 months now and it was the best thing that could have happened for them. They eat regularly, have contact with other people and are able to participate in activities. All this helping them to live the best life they can while living with dementia. Things don't always run smooth but the staff is always willing to help solve problems if they turn up. The caring from the staff is very reassuring and appreciated.

We moved my Aunt into this facility about 8 months ago, after looking at a ton of assisted living facility's we chose this one, and we were not disappointed. First of all the facility is beautiful, they have a ton of daily activities, and the staff treat the residents like they are family. Mom moved into RR2 after my dad went to Deer Lodge, leaving their home of over 60 years. Best move ever! She made so many friends, it's like a small community. Her friends from before were of the same age and due to driving restrictions, getting together was hard so her social circle expanded greatly at RR2. When my dad passed, she was supported by other widowed residents. After a few years she had to be moved to the secure area where she lived for another few years having a quality of life not available in a personal care home. The staff were so kind and caring, keeping me in the loop when needed. Even in the secure area she still participated in activities, keeping her more mobile than she would have been on her own. Balloon Ball was a favourite. As we've recently had to move her to a personal care home, I was surprised at the number of staff that stopped me in the halls while I was cleaning out her apartment, to inquire about her and share stories of her time there with me. I credit RR2 with providing my mom some of the best years of her life.

Our Father had been in Concordia Hospital since October 31 with some confusion issues. We received permission to get him out of the hospital on Dec 15th if we could provide/find fulltime care. How do we find a place on such short notice? We were concerned that we would not be able to get him moved in to a place before Christmas. My Dad has a close friend staying at RR2 and we heard great things about the facility. A tour of the facilities and a couple of the open apartments was arranged. We were very impressed. We picked an apartment and stood back while Chassity guided us through getting our Father moved in by December 23rd. We just couldn't believe all the support and help we received. Unbelievable. He is so happy now we just can't thank the Team at RR2 enough. PS. My Dad also commented on how friendly all the tenants are!

Parents have been there 2 years, and I can confidently say that we are so pleased with the level of care they are getting there. This is why: Continental breakfast served lunch & dinner daily weekly suite cleaning bedding and towels laundered at no additional charge free machines on each floor for other laundry 24, 7 nurse onsite Doctor that comes to the building throughout the week onsite hair & nail technicians can ALWAYS call for a safety check if you cant reach your family a director that genuinely cares (Lori) & it shows with the staff as well COVID safe events for residents no tripping hazards - all flooring one level, railings for additional support emergency pulls in every room in case they need assistance Its a fantastic place that gives the rest of the family great peace of mind that our parents are safe and well cared for.

River Ridge 2 Are you tired of preparing your daily meals? Are you interested in a lifestyle where you can gain many friendships? Are you health conscious? If you can answer YES to these questions, then I suggest that you come to our friendly residence here at River Ridge 2. When I was searching for a new home ( a retirement residence) after my husband had passed away, I selected River Ridge 2 (after checking out other retirement residences) because I was able to say yes to the above questions. I am very pleased with my choice (River Ridge 2) because it exceeded my expectations of the great atmosphere and quality of life. I was amazed that the Directors and Staff were able to take care of our needs (food, physical activity, safety and support) especially during Covid-19. Upon my arrival on the late afternoon of July 2nd 2020 I was met with open arms and smiles by the Directors and Staff. They were all introducing themselves and made me feel welcome. With me being a shy individual, I was very impressed with these gestures of kindness. The wonderful Directors and Staff have provided me with emotional support when I was feeling sad, upset that I so appreciated. The next day I entered the dining room. WOW!! A huge room full fo residents and serving staff. I was gently escorted to a table where there was another lady sitting by herself. The two of us struck up a conversation while enjoying our delicious meal of soup and a sandwich for our lunch. There is always a different soup served each day of the week. Our evening meal consists of a different salad each day and a choice of two delicious main course meals. This initial conversation with this lady has blossomed into a full friendship. What a bonus for me to have found a friend so quickly! From this wonderful beginning many many more wonderful friendships have been made. Next came my introduction to the Fitness Room where all the exercises and many of our games take place by our charming cheerful leaders. Here is a list of some of the many wonderful exercises and games that are played in this room. Sit and Stand, Sit and Stretch, Weights, Zumba, Yoga, Ladder Golf, Floor Shuffle Board, Bounce Basketball, Petanque au Tout, Wii Bowling, and some other games. In the Multi Purpose Room, we sing, do crafts, play jeopardy,, and pedal a portable bicycle and watch bike tours through various countries and cities. What an exciting experience right here in our building! Movies are shown usually two times a week in our theatre. Since I love being active there is a lot to do to keep me active throughout the days, The WONDERFUL kind and supportive Directors and Staff are here for us each day with their beautiful smiles. I know that I have made the right move at the right time. What more can I want in a Retirement Residence???

We moved my Grampa to River Ridge 2 in October to the Boulevard North unit (locked unit). Since our meet and greet with Chassity, River Ridge 2 has not only made my Grampa feel at home but it has made our family feel at home when were there. From Chassity checking in on my Grampa when he first moved in, to the health care aides on his unit, theyve done everything to provide him with his needs ,and his wants as well. Best move we as a family could have made for my Grampa.

After a lengthy hospital stay it was evident prior to discharge that my dad required some extra care, his dementia was progressing so we needed to find a secure, comfortable place for him to live. My family toured River Ridge II – Boulevard North and were very pleased after speaking with Chassity and nurse Cydney that the Blvd North was able to accommodate my dads needs. All of the staff on the 2nd floor Blvd North are so caring and compassionate, and dad is getting the care he needs. Throughout COVID 19 all of the staff at River Ridge II have been so supportive and caring. It is a difficult time for families when we are not able to see our loved ones, however the staff have been and continue to be our extended family: our eyes and ears, communicating with us and being there for dad and for us whenever we need them. We can rest assured knowing that dad is being well looked after by our River Ridge II family when we cannot be there. Thank you to Lori and all of her staff at RR, for the care you provide it has been top notch! If you are looking for a safe, comfortable place for your loved ones I recommend contacting Chassity at River Ridge II and booking a tour. You will not be disappointed.

I moved our father to River Ridge 2 at the beginning of October and from the initial meeting with Chassity I knew I had found the right place for him. The Executive Director, Lori, took time from her schedule to ensure she stopped by and introduce herself to welcome Dad and the family to RR2. The family has self- and family-managed care and the Nursing Manager immediately sat down with me to discuss how our two teams could work together to help meet Dads needs. Since that time, COVID has changed everyones lives, and yet the Boulevard One North staff, Kim (Nurse Manager), and the front reception staff have given us unmeasurable support and reassurance he is doing well although we are unable to see him. The facility and staff have done their utmost to ensure the residents and staff are in a safe place and have been very accommodating to help us ensure Dad and our HC team receive the supplies needed for his care during this unprecedented time. It is very comforting to know he is in a safe, supportive, and very caring environment that continually demonstrates his needs are a priority as they do for all the residents living at River Ridge 2. I could not feel more confident with Dads care! PS. Its a beautiful facility with great apartments and space, too!

As mom is 88 and recently widowed we were looking for a place to move her into that would offer 24 hour support and assistance, a place that would provide cleaning, meals and companionship. We wanted to have peace of mind that she was being taken care of since we couldnt be with her all the time ourselves. We talked to Chassity, Lifestyle Director at River Ridge 2, and she went over everything they had to offer and we decided that it had all we were looking for. We moved mom from Thompson, Manitoba into River Ridge 2 in August 2020. She left all her friends and the life and community she had known since moving there in 1967 and was now going to be living all on her own in a place that she wasnt familiar with, in an entirely new city where didnt know anyone other than us. It was in between the first and second waves of COVID so we were able to visit with her and help her get settled at least a little, but she was sad, scared and lonely and didnt want to leave her suite. It was truly heartbreaking. This was not home, home was still Thompson. All the staff at River Ridge were very patient, understanding and encouraging with her and it was Chassity that finally managed to get mom out of her suite and go to the dining room to have her meals. Mom likes all of the staff at River Ridge, although she has difficulty remembering all their names. She said they all know her name and are very pleasant, friendly, caring and will take a few moments out of their busy days to chat for a minute or two and share a laugh. They were there to help her when she couldnt get her tv on, and when she needed help to adjust her thermostat as she has difficulty with her eyesight. Their Health & Wellness team even went to help her put up her Christmas tree and decorate her suite as sadly due to COVID we cannot be there. Mom is starting to call River Ridge home and were quite happy about that. Thank you to all staff at River Ridge 2 for caring as if they were your own parents, especially during these trying times!

Our dad moved into RiverRidge 11 in late October after having open heart surgery. He is very comfortable and happy there. His suite is large enough for him to get around with his walker, yet warm and cozy. The staff have been wonderful, always there for him. He loves the meals especially the homemade soups. He has not been able to use any of the amenities due to COVID, but hopefully that will change in the near future.A special thank you to Chassity. She is always there when I need her for any reason at all.Our dad is in the best place he could be, especially now during COVID. They are doing everything they can to keep him and all the residents safe at this crazy time in our lives. So greatly appreciated by me and my family.

My parents and I checked out several residences before finding RR2 which was the one where they both felt most at home. It took a few more years before they were ready to move in and unfortunately that was during the first wave of the pandemic which raised many more questions that we would never have thought to ask in the beginning. Thank goodness RR2 had a good plan in place and Chastity took the time to walk me through their stringent procedures and reassured our family that they would be well cared for, even under these trying circumstances, and that it was still safe to move in.. They moved in on September 1st when the provinces numbers were low so my dog Lexus and I were able to visit frequently and get to know several staff and see the humanness they bring while providing professional care. They really care about their residents and this shines through and they work hard to build a team of support with the family. Although it has been more stressful now that the provincial health restrictions do not allow me to visit in person with my folks, our FaceTime calls let me know that they are managing well and that the staff at RR2 are taking great care of them and going that extra mile to keep them safe. I also asked my parents for their thoughts and here is how they feel about RR2: Life at RR2 has been very different from what was anticipated prior to moving in September 1st 2020. Of course the surge in the world-wide epidemic has turned life upside down for everyone. We recognize the need for strong actions given the heavy responsibilities facing the staff at RR2. And, in fact, we greatly appreciate the efficiency, openness and pleasantness of the entire staff. We thank you for all for doing all possibly can under these difficult times. Keep up the good work! We moved our Great-Aunt into RiverRidge II at the end of March, right when Covid -19 restrictions came into play. It was a stressful time, but the support and guidance from the Lifestyle Director Chasity and the other administration there made the move manageable. The moving company that was suggested by RiverRidge II (LeapFrog Moving Specialists) came into her apartment and guided us through the moving process. On moving day, they packed up her old apartment and had her new place set up, so that when she came in and saw her apartment, she could feel right at home. Not only is RiverRidge II a beautiful establishment, with many different activities and supports there; but the people who manage the responsibility of taking care of our loved ones are exceptional. Even though this can be a difficult time for seniors to transition into a new place with a lot of changes - more compounded with Covid-19 - the people at RiverRidge II made her feel welcome and cared for. From the managers to the receptionists, the maintenance people and all the other people that worked there, I saw them stop to introduce themselves on the first couple of days. On future visits, I saw them stop to talk to her in the hallways, dining room or lobby areas while consistently calling her by name. It is the little things that make you feel like you have made the right choice with RIverRidge II. As we continued to work on getting our Great-Aunt settled in, there were issues with cable and phone, but RiverRidge II worked with the companies and I in order to make sure that she had the services she needed. The people there worked with her to become more comfortable and work up her endurance, in order to begin her new higher quality of life. I would recommend RiverRidge II to families looking for a safe and caring environment for their family members as they move to the next stage of their lives.

We are very pleased with the enhanced assisted living accommodation we found here for my sister. Right from inquiry stage, the advice and support could not have been better. My sister is dealing with aging and bipolar, and with those challenges, this is the ideal home for her. She appears to always have someone available to address her needs, any time. All staff are kind to her, regardless of what the request. We also are contacted immediately when something unexpected happens. We have no reservations regarding her health and safety in her residence here. We are also pleased with the measures taken to insure resident safety during the COVID epidemic. Meals, care, safety, programming and housekeeping are second to none. I would not hesitate to recommend this residence regardless of circumstances of those considering it. We are so pleased we found this for my sister.

River Ridge II is a must-visit if you are looking for an assisted care facility robust with activities, top-notch care, gourmet food and a home where everyone knows not only your name, but what you value. Its a state-of-the-art building with many sunlit spots for either a quiet moment with a book, or the option of planting yourself in the middle of the action. When we were looking for a new home for my mom Chassity (and the River Ridge II team) sat us down and explained how everything worked in the world of assisted living ie. what questions we should ask in our search, a detailed explanation of costs, clarity on what is offered, what is not offered, all because they wanted us to find the absolute best fit for my mom. Not because they wanted to fill a room. River Ridge II is a loving home first. A business second.

Mom and Dad needed to move to an assisted care facility because of Dads unique physical and Moms unique mental issues. The family wanted to keep them together but few facilities would accommodate both parents needs. Luckily, we found River Ridge II. Chassity MacIntyre, their Lifestyle Director, was extremely helpful in explaining what was offered and how they could assist in moving both parents in and making them feel at home. Since moving in, all the staff have been courteous and friendly toward Mom and Dad and they are enjoying the many amenities. Chassity continues to be involved and has orchestrated Face Time visits during the lockdown caused by COVID-19. Thanks to River Ridge II for making their time happy and comfortable!

My elderly mother recently moved into River Ridge II during the lockdown phase of Covid 19 to give her a level of care without worry. Her family could not be there to assist her through the move due to the restrictions of the pandemic. Fortunately the staff at River Ridge II offered support beyond words. I cant say enough for the patience, kindness and tireless work provided by Chassity to ensure the move was done as smoothly as possible with minimum disruption to my mothers routine and a priority to her health & safety. She received a warm welcome from Chassity, Zdenka & other staff along with a gift of flowers when she arrived. Chassity went above & beyond followed closely by Zdenka who ensured my mother was settled in. Zdenka has been checking in with her regularly during her busy workschedule helping my mother adjust to her new surroundings. With her family so far away, we could not have done this successfully without Chassity, Lifestyle Director & Zdenka, Manager at River Ridge II. They are two wonderful people who truly care. Thank you!
