First, I would like to say that the review by Betty McCullough is a fake review and used by a fake name. The real person is a disgruntled relative that has caused many problems for her mom which is why she is not the guardian right now. She has made it hard for me to take care of my grandmother since getting guardianship over her for the past 2 years. What she said is farthest from the truth and to be honest, no facility would contact a relative that was not the legal guardian in the first place! Unless you have the time and patience to take care of a loved one with dementia, you will have to put them in a nursing home or something equivalent to that. And unfortunately, there are some terrible ones out there but this is not one of them!I would like like to take this time to put out a review for Arden Courts. I came to know of this facility through my grandmother's hospice team. At the time my grandmother was displaced from her previous facility due to her dementia causing her to have aggressive behavior and they felt they could no longer service her. Anita came to visit her in my home, (I'm my grandmother's legal guardian and caregiver) and evaluated her. I explained that no facility would accept her but after Anita evaluated her, she did.From there, she moved in and yes the first month was an adjustment for us both. However, Anytime there was a concern, I was notified in a timely fashion. Within about 2 months, she was adjusting well. I observed for myself her dementia behavior calming down as well her having a clean and warm environment.The staff did their best to ensure my grandmother was active, allowed her to walk which is part of dementia, and made her feel like family by calling her "Auntee" and "momma". Della and Michael always made my grandmother feel loved, the nurses, and some other staff, too many to name.Now, this is a private care facility so you will have to pay and it is expensive but if your loved one needs a place that feels like home, this is a great place. I would also recommend it for short stays like my grandmother's because you will be able to sleep at night knowing that your loved one is okay while you are away. Arden court worked with me to get my grandmother at a more functioning state so that when she moved out, she could adjust much better. I am forever grateful to Arden court for giving me and my grandmother a chance and allowing her to experience the quality care she needed to get her to a better state. I give it 4 stars only because no facility is perfect and you won't always have great days but overall it was a good experience, and I am truly grateful my grandmother was able to experience it. If you have the money and you want a peace of mind, I recommend it.

My mother has been a resident of Arden Courts of South Holland for over a year. I have been very pleased with her care. Many of the staff have worked there for years, and they display the kindness and patience that I feel is vital for working with the alzheimers population. Even new staff has been trained to provide compassionate care. My mother has never complained about being there, and I appreciate that they keep her as active as possible, with music, art, stories, games, and various performers. The meals they prepare are first rate, and they are attentive to her overall diabetes care. I visit 1-2 times a week, and have been impressed with the cleanliness, cheerful environment, and the staffs willingness to keep the family involved. Arden Courts of South Holland was a great choice for my mother.
