Horrible place to work. Management let the employees run the building. I worked there for 1 and half, went through 3 ED, they can’t keep staff. Have people in position that don’t know what they are doing. No support from management for employees

This is my fourth Senior Living facility since being diagnosed with Parkinsons disease over 15 years ago at the age of 44. I can say, hands down, that this place cares for their people and goes out of their way to get to know the residents and what helps each of us individually. We are not just a number and its not just about the almighty dollar. From the sales team to the head Director, to the Activities Director, to the nurses and doctors, to the chef, wait staff, caregivers and housekeeping, theyre always trying to find new ways to improve. In other words they dont just talk the talk, but walk the walk If youre looking for a compassionate place for your loved one, look no further. You wont be disappointed.

My Grandma has lived here for close to a year now. There is no secret the place has had a lot of change. In the last 5 months though my Grandma has not been happier! The staff obviously have a lot of fun together and like their jobs. The change in Management I think has a lot to do with that. I can call the Head Director anytime and she has answered me. There is a great vibe when you come in now. The food is awesome and we have a lot of fun. I visited this weekend and everyone was in a dance party- everyone was grooving. The Head Director even got me dancing with Grandma. This is a great place. I definitely recommend it to everyone I know!

Jennifer Lazansky is a Saint. She works tirelessly to make sure her residents, whom she considers family, have everything they need and more. She has a true passion for making their lives better every day. Even during this recent pandemic she continues showing up every day to make sure things run smoothly, excellence is maintained and her residents and staff are safe. Harbor Chase of Long Grove is more than lucky to have her on staff. I would trust her with my own parents no questions asked.

I am very impressed with the facility at Harbor Chase. The building is immaculate and the manager Jenny Lazansky was very accommodating of answering all of my questions and addressing all of my concerns. She is very knowledgeable and I feel that she acts in the best interest of myself and my family. I highly recommend Harbor Chase and the services they provide!

5 starts are not enough. From food to communication, this place is perfect. From the care givers, nurses, sales people and their Leader Jennifer. This place runs like Bentley engine. You can see that these people are not there just the money, but because they care for their residents. Thank you for keeping our people happy and healthy.

Im so happy my grandmother is living at HarborChase. She has been a resident there for about 6 months. I talk with her on the phone every other day and she always has something new to tell me. In her words Its as if Im on a permanent cruise ship I wont get sick on. I want to especially thank the management and the entire team there for everything they have and are doing especially during this scary time. My family knows that she is in the safest place. All the updates and communication about any change to her care has been tremendous. Thank you for treating my family as your own! Keep it up HarborChase!

I have loved working at HarborChase. The managers and the building director are caring and involved. The community director Jenny comes in to at every shift to ensure we as staff are happy. I love working here. The residents are happy and their families are so happy. The building is clean and I love working here. We take great care of our residents and We all take pride in that. Our team is prideful and happy take comfort in that. Our leaders are caring and devoted.

HarborChase is a beautiful independent living, assisted living, memory facility located in picturesque Long Grove. I have always been impressed with Jenny and her experienced staff, especially during this pandemic period. She has always been concerned with helping the senior residents and her staffs needs by operating in a healthy open door management style.

The facility is beautiful, warm and welcoming. The nurses I have encountered have all been kind and compassionate to the residents and their needs. I have worked with the Executive Director, Jenney Lazansky, for almost a year and I find her to be extremely professional, caring and dedicated to her position and the residents of Harbor Chase. This is a must see facility!

HarborChase of Long Grove is a wonderful community. The care staff, concierge, activities, servers, managers and administrator are always so welcoming and kind. The residents have enjoyed so many fun programs even during this pandemic. The residents are loved like they are family by the entire staff. No place is perfect but this one is as close as you can get. No person is perfect but all of the people that work here are saints. Dont let a few disgruntled ex-employees make you think differently.

Harborchase is a beautiful community. Jennifer the ED has brought me peace of mind because prior to her arrival there were numerous leadership changes. She is very responsive to my concerns and has brightened the community with all the social events shes organized to bring the families together. Her job is not easy and I admire the way she perseveres through challenges and provides open communication to us families.

I have been working at HarborChase since October. Its refreshing to work for a company that cares about their employees. I feel like Im part of a team and not a number. Amazing mentors and I have already learned a lot. If a mistake has been made, youre not made to feel bad about it. Its truly treated like a learning experience. My Grandma loves it here! She said despite everything going on with the pandemic, she couldnt be happier. She loves the food, the activities, and the staff. I was really surprised to see negative reviews about the Director. My Grandma said she is there at all hours of the day and night, even on weekends. I really cant imagine she doesnt care about her job if she is constantly there. She said even on the weekends Jennifer still has a smile on her face and does a great job for caring for everyone. If she has my Grandmas stamp of approval, she has mine too. I also wouldnt read too much into other reviews about staff turnover. From talking to other people who have loved ones in a facility, they all have turnover. Those staff that stay are the ones who have a true caring heart. Thanks to all of you who keep my Grandma safe and happy. Our family really appreciates that she has a wonderful place to live!

Many of the reviews on here have been placed by disgruntled former employees, so take what you read from them with a grain of salt. There is no perfect business and people tend to post what is negative - also bear that in mind. The manager of the facility is hard-working and cares about the residents there - that is what is important.

Please read whole review. Fabulous! Great staff. Wonderful rooms. Amazing chef. That was my thoughts a year an 1, 2 ago. We have been here from the beginning and Ive seen it all. Short on staff, the food has just become unacceptable. If you want to see the decline of Harbor Chase just look at my photos. The dishes are often filthy. There is an employee that left an entire section of memory care residents alone for EXTENDED periods of time and still works there! As a result of this a resident pulled the fire alarm to get attention. The staff is a revolving door. The bulk of the great staff quit. There are some employees that are great and then we seem to end up begging them to stay. I think we have been through 6 executive directors, countless care partners and 5 directors of memory care. When we first arrived I raved about the food, now it is frequently cold, the portions are cut in half and the bar is not a bar anymore, (they lost their liquor license). Happy hour for the residents consists of coke and diet coke. My family member has been hurt by improper chair transfers, had jewelry stolen and things broken in her room. Why dont we leave you ask. I may, but I am eternally hopeful that things will get better. I feel like I have to be watching all the time. We fight for these residents all the time. There is no assisted living that is perfect, but Harbor Chase in reality is not what they are selling you. They sell it like the Ritz Carlton, it is not.

My father and I went to visit HarborChase, it was absolutely beautiful inside and out. Very bright inside, plenty of room in the hallways, REALLY nice suites! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The residents we met were as happy as can be. Definitely a must see!
