Absolutely one of the most horrific assisted living centers I've ever worked in, the staff are rude to residents, they refuse to change or help toilet people they don't like, they'll sit there while call lights going off if they don't want to help you right away because they know what you want. Even if you shouldn't be in assisted-living and should be in a nursing home they still accept you into the facility where you don't get adequate care for your needs and the patients who come as so end up passing and in passing they stop doing anything for you except giving you morphine until you pass. Or they allow people who are mentally unfit for an assisted living and also do not provide any training to take care of these specific people with these certain needs, and if they're too needy or push the call light too often they get ignored. The owner [name removed] absolutely does not care about the residence or care to keep up on the things actually going on at the facility. The administrator [name removed] is beyond rude and also does not do anything about the things going on in the facility. She will send out a text message and that's about it. They are understaffed, the people who are working are less than qualified (careless, neglectful and rude) or have been there so long they don't get fired, even though they neglect residence and their cares. If residents have falls repeatedly, or get hurt, they don't do anything about it they don't send you to a hospital to get help to be checked out if you hit your head or anything they just continue to ignore the residents who are doing so and think of them as a burden because they aren't able to get themselves up but need certain things that they aren't getting. The assistant administrator is the admin's daughter, so if you feel you have any issues with the admin, or let alone, anybody, you can't even go to anybody about it because they're biased and her having her daughters there makes her care more about them, (allowing her daughters to sleep on the job, bring video games to play at work, come in late if they want to, not show up for their scheduled shift because she approved it while not having anyone to cover and then disciplining the person not able to cover because she allowed her daughters to not be at work, not have to request days off ahead of time) ALL (instead of doing the hourly checks and or changing, toileting and cares that are supposed to be done) The night shift is also the admin's daughter who sleeps on shift and also neglects residents. If you know her daughters, you have a great chance of being hired even if you're completely unqualified (or have mental issues that can affect your work because the residence are what matter but at this facility, they absolutely are not) the administrator does not care as long as she can add as many people to the facility to make her money. It is very sad how the residents are living, their rooms they never get cleaned other than vacuumed and hardly the bathroom, never the clutter or anything around them get picked up or organized, if your laundry gets washed, they throw it into your room in a bag. Residents who are unable to walk or not too able to move around themselves get left on the toilet until they decide to get them off, or end up, having to get themselves to the toilet and figuring it out because staff aren't assisting them. They allow residence to smoke weed and drink alcohol, as well as pass it off to others. They refuse patients to go to the hospital or to get adequate cares they need including people who are unable to get out of bed, or use the restroom themselves, and end up sitting in their dirty, diapers for hours and days. They allow anybody into the building at any time without mandating the strict sign in policy to ensure the safety of the residence. Don't work here and contribute to the neglect, but what I say the most is do not take your family here unless you want them to not be taken care of and once there at a certain sickness, just be forced to take medicine to pass on instead of getting help that could be possible.

Apple Valley and their leadership staff ensure that nothing but the best and most adequate care is being provided to their residents. I have never seen individuals who put so much of their heart and passion into their work, it definitely shows when you visit the facility! It is not often that you see staff staying hours past their shifts, or even coming in for hours on their days off to help comfort a family of a resident who has, or is declining in their health. I would recommend Apple Valley to anyone looking for a loving, family oriented, involved place for their family member.

I’ve found Apple Valley Residence for my mom. First of all, we were very pleased. We’ve already experienced it once before with my mother-in-law living there. They do complete, full care, and it’s very family-oriented, low key, and very clean. If my mother’s finances got to the point where she cannot afford it, they had it set up where they could still take care of the person. That way, she would not have to move, and being 85 years old, that was very important to us. They also have availability for hospice. The facility also is very close to her doctor. I can actually wheel her to her doctor with her wheelchair. It’s a very small community, and the availability of where we’re at makes it easy for me to be able to care for her and the things that she needs. I just love the people there; they are very accommodating and very caring. They had been really wonderful to us between my mother-in-law and my mom.
