Would love to be able to share something about every member of this wonderful community and how they truly consider the residents as members of their extended families. I love how everyone comes through from the Administrator to the food service team, the clinitians, to activites person to the building manager who keepsvthe building warm, comfortable and safe.

As a healthcare professional, I have been involved with this facility over the past 20+ years. The facility has always been responsive to the hundreds of residents that came under my purview. Staff have always been courteous and engaged with the residents. Administrative staff have been exceptional in seeking advice to make life as independently functional for residents there, even if they were not directly under professional healthcare services. When asked, this facility is one of the top few that I do not hesitate to recommend.

My Grandfather Swanson moved here after my Grandmother Madelyn passed away. My Mom took him in until a space opened. We visited him weekly, and took him out to a movie and dinner. One morning, staff found him waiting for the shuttle to the airport, having purchased a ride to Hartsfield, en route to California. He had his bags packed, and was ready. to see my Grandmother, who he was certain needed him. The staff called the family, parents were ballroom dancing in Utah, brother in San Mateo, sister in Memphis, so I dashed over. He still had a credit card, and had ordered his one way ticket - called a cab- & packed his bags when I got there. We convinced him to eat, and nap. Sadly, he had to leave Morningside, as soon as a room in a locked ward opened up, because they couldnt risk his disappearing. The staff at both Morningside and Arbor Terrace were highly competent, caring people and his finances were in grand shape, so he could well afford each facility. They even mediated a dispute amongst the family about whether we should tell him his only child (Mom) had passed away. He hadnt been nearly as unaware as we thought. He thought she had passed away months before she actually did. From the cancer we thought wed kept from him. I highly recommend both places, and hope this is helpful.

The Morningside staff has been very caring and helpful in caring for my mother. They have gone above and beyond many times to see Mom has what she needs medically and personally. They have also been very kind to me and my family. We are all very grateful for Morningside.

I have been working closely with the staff at Morningside Athens for almost a year while helping an older friend of mine navigate her health challenges and declining independence as she has aged. As her surrogate family and medical POA, I particularly appreciate their attentiveness to my friends evolving medical needs. They have always been responsive to my requests to monitor specific areas of concern, and have been flexible in trying to match staff that worked best with my friend. Recently the nurse noticed that my friends occasional bouts of queasiness had turned into something more serious. They called an ambulance, called me, and due to their quick action my friend was able to get the life saving medical care she needed. After her hospitalization and subsequent rehab, my friend in now back in her apt and visiting with friends. In my experience, no one loves the idea of getting to the point that they need the support of assisted living to be safe and healthy. That said, when the time comes, I highly recommend Morningside of Athens. It is clean, with very pleasant surroundings, a competent & hard working staff and management who cares. You still need to do your part to be a caring family member and, or friend...but you cant do it 24 hrs a day. Partnering with good folks really helps.

I recently learned that Morningside of Athens is offering a Lifestyle360 program for all their residents. The program is designed to bring the five dimensions of wellness into harmony. There are activities that focus on the intellect, social experiences, physical health, emotional health and spiritual wellbeing. The staff at Morningside delivered and made things that represented each sphere to professionals they work with in the Athens community. Each week created a memorable experience. Hats off to this program! I think it will benefit many residents!

I have a parent at Morningside and have been no way but pleased with the care, from administering meds to helping with daily needs. The facility is always spotless and the staff is always smiling. There are plenty of activities for residents, so there is much to do to fill the days. I can honestly say I rest easy knowing my mother receives the same level of care, attention and love she received from me in my home for many years. I would definitely recommend Morningside to any caregiver.
