I live at the renaissance retirement center; the truth is the is bad the care is bad the E.D.(the man in charge said he has open door possible but does not) you have make appointment (and then he said yes or no to this appointment.) The is food hear is bad, when you get a menu, it may be the same and then it may not, also for dinner it is mostly sandwich. the maintenance is very bad, if the ac goes out you may get it fix the same day or may not this is just an example (there are other this. The age of people is not staring at 40 it is 50 this place is overrun by bugs, they basely in the kichen. I can tell you from living here it is not all peaches and cream as you may have read in the past. There is onsite activities and offsite activities are good. But if you need help from the medical staff forget it, if you have a roommate and he or she has fallen, and you call 911 to help because the medical staff is to bestie then you get yell at by the staff. The reason at I know because it happened to me. Also, the outdoor common areas are for the staff only. There has the one time that a couple got married here. Their ages 78 and 80. Oh these things are provided meals, outdoor areas when aloud, there is no gardens around, there is no beauty & barber services the showers are not wheelchairs accessible they are shower chair accessible, the only indoor common area is the dining room, and the tv room, please look somewhere else before looking here, I would like your loved one to have a better place to live

When i came for a tour with my mother the activity calendar was amazing compared to most places i visited, Cristal made my mother feel welcome even invited her to happy hour. I was very pleased, because that's one thing I want for my mother is to have fun and be active, and Cristal made her feel comfortable enough to want to live in the community Thank you for your support and help that you gave to transition my independent mother to a senior community.

The day my mother passed away I stopped over to let staff know. I walked into my moms apartment and there is a man standing in her unit. Asked what he was doing, he stated, "I just heard your mom has passed away so I came in to check her unit to see what needs to be done in preparation for the next resident." Mind you Had not been on property for maybe 10 / 15 minutes at most... Next thing he started asking if he could have her bed, a shelving unit and started gushing about how he liked her cookbooks, hinting that he would like to have them as well as other items.. Lovely to be greeted by vultures.. Went into her kitchen to clean out the fridge and food items in her cupboards.. Well somehow her fridge was full of German cockroaches... I mean "REALLY" my mother has passed away just that morning, walk in let staff know, go to her apartment and their is a man taking stock if what she has and asks if he can have her mattress, book and ither items.. Tacky, rude, crass, unsympathetic and just so much more.. Conversely the front desk attendant and several other ladies went out of their way to help my mother and truly adored her.. I am still in shock that walk into her unit to see a man taking stock of her belongings and asking what he can have.. Need to train your staff in elder care and loss..

Since having both my parents move into the Renaissance they have blossomed. They have fun at activities and outings. I have seen such a different quality of life in my parents. I sleep better at night knowing that they are receiving the best care.

I just started working at Renaissance part-time. I have been an ED for the last 15 years and decided to go back to my first love, nursing. I was VERY impressed with the orientation. Emma, the ED is very professional and makes orientation very pleasant and fun. Trust me, I have been through many orientations and this place has a wonderful orientation program. I only work a couple of days per week and love all the staff and residents. Lisa and Shantae are determined to make our wellness department the BEST! Great place to work.

This facility has bee struggling under poor management. The owners are currently replacing the mangers of every department. They have a great deal of work ahead of them. That said, with good, caring management this facility could shine. The facilities are very nice, the hourly staff, servers, med techs and housekeeping are for the most part, friendly and caring. What challenges they have can be corrected by additional training and having managers they can trust. Communication between residents and management needs serious attention. The food needs to addressed. They do have a new Chef, attention to special diets ordered by doctors still needs to addressed. As a medical surrogate for a resident the situation is being monitored. If needs are met the review will change. The residents are friendly and welcoming to new residents. Covid has been kept at bay which has made getting to know new residents challenging. Hope it works out dont want to move my client.

Renaissance Retirement Center has provided excellenet care to my Mother over the past 1 1, 2 and she has been very happy living there. They have been especially attentive to her needs during the Pandemic and continue to take good care of her needs and safety. When my MIL first moved here about 3 years ago, the food was very good, they had wonderful and interesting activities and events, and provided consistent transportation. Unfortunately, the ownership has changed and the new management has cut so many corners that its a former shadow of the place it was a few years ago. The food quality has declined dramatically and the transportation is hardly ever available, which leaves seniors having to pay out of their pocket for transportation for necessary items and to pick up vital prescriptions (which is in violation of the contract). The one bright spot is the wonderful staff; they are underpaid, overworked, and continue to be kind and caring every day. I hope they get their act together, but I cannot recommend this place at this time. EDIT: See the reply below? Notice they dont address any of the issues I have raised here. I hope the next company that runs this place realizes that the nice profit margin they show is based on depriving elderly people of basic needs and feeding them hot dogs.

I have lived at the Renaissance for almost 2 yrs and it is a really nice place to live. Our CEO, Denise, is excellent, as is Kawanda at the front desk. The nurses, med techs and RAs do a great job of taking care of us. Our chef and his staff keep us fed well. Our activities director keeps us busy every day doing fun things. Our new bus driver, Troy, does way more than drive the bus. We appreciate all he does for us. We have a great therapy team, and housekeeping and maintenance do a good job.

Went to check out this facility with my sister. She is trying to find a great place to put her father in law in. We received a tour from Ramon Morales and he was an excellent guide. Very friendly and informative. Did not seem like a sales pitch at all and more so a genuine approach, which is what puts us at ease on choosing the right facility. The place was updated, clean and quiet. It has a lot of activities for all the residence. Meal selections are great too! They do not use frozen veggies. Needless to say, Ramon helped us decide with the Renaissance for her father in law.

This facility is pretty average for assisted living. My mother in law was here for almost 4 years. Kawanda, who works the front desk, goes above and beyond to help everyone; staff, residents and family. She knows who to talk too to get things done. Although the staff changes fairly often there is enough continuity of care for assisted living.

I am so happy to have had my mother live at Renaissance. I can’t say enough about the staff: they are extraordinary. Having worked in geriatric facilities in a supervisory context, I want to say that this staff is one that every admin strives to have. Ronella and Rochelle Brooker, Antron Williams, Kinese,Beth June and Dean the bus driver are truly called to do this work and it shows. They are compassionate and treat the residents like family. I saw this in a regular basis during the 3+ yrs my mom lived there and it was amplified when Kinese, Antron and Beth made multiple visits to her when she was hospitalized at the end. When she passed, the grief of the staff was real and they surrounded me with caring. This is above and beyond. The staff members whom I’ve seen, from the laundry room to the kitchen to the activities to the nursing; everyone is a caregiver. Are there things that can be improved at Renaissance? Of course: the building itself is a bit dated and some areas need attention, but the new owners are working on improvements. When I had to find a place for my mom to live out her days, my main requirement was an attentive, knowledgeable and caring staff. And I am grateful to have found that in Renaissance in Sanford, Fl.

My family member has been living here for 1.5 years. I appreciate the care and kindness she enjoys from Rochelle and George. We enjoy the many trips that Dean takes us on. Martina comes up with some great lunch outing locations. And there is nothing better then being greeted by Kawanda and Bobbie. And did I mention Amanda, she shines more brightly then the sun, she exudes calmness and happiness all of the time.

Having been a resident for appx four months, I am glad I choose this facility over three others I considered. This was my first interaction with Assisted living and I am making some wonderful friends. I had never met so many vibrant and enthusiastic seniors, from sixty to ninety five years old with such diverse backgrounds and life experiences. From a school principal to retired military, law enforcement, attornies, realtors, health care professionals, stay at home mothers, and numerous business owners. If I was ever going to believe marriages don’t last, it wouldn’t be here! Some of my new friends were married 40, 50 and 60 years. and to the most wonderful spouse to ever live. Most of the staff are beyond compare. In food services-Annett is someone who rates Exceellent and puts. a smile on my face every time I see her. In the nursing department Rochelle, Tiffany, Keta, David andAmanda rate five stars each. They treat the residents and myself with kindness, enthusiasm and dignity. On the lobby desk-Bobbi greets everyone with a smile and the knowledge to answer the many questions. Dean must be an Angel sent here to transport us to shopping facilities and weekly entertainment outings. His patience is beyond compare! Lastly, Neicey and Martina prove humility and compassion are alive and well in this retirement center. If I misspelled any ones name please accept my apologies.Thank you to to the staff and fellow residents for making me feel so welcome and into your family
