Terrible staff, terrible management, terrible pay

My mother-in-law is a resident at Savannah Grand. I have been so impressed with SG since she moved in there a year and a half ago! The staff are friendly and super attentive to the needs of the residents and their families. There are a number of activities for the residents, and the special events (there are several!) are imaginatively and wonderfully planned, and SO much fun to attend! The meals there are delicious and healthy. Savannah Grand has been a great home for my mother-in-law!

My aunt has been a resident at Savannah Grand for over a year now. One thing that I love about Savannah Grand is that it is like one big family! She was a school teacher in Nassau County for 45+ years and now her students are some of her caregivers. It’s absolutely the sweetest thing ever. It means so much to us knowing she’s getting the best care.

Savannah Grand is truly a hidden gem. Securely tucked away off Sadler only a minute from the beach. I personally love the open layout of the building; creating a warm welcoming environment for residents to join in festivities. Most of the staff have been there for 5+ years so the building is run extremely well.

I was looking for a home for both of my parents and had a few requests for specific things, like access to an outside patio from their room. Savannah Grand was incredibly accommodating! This community is spacious with beautiful and quiet surroundings. The staff were so kind and genuine and made me feel immediately comfortable as well. I have worked in healthcare for many years, including senior services, and have toured a large amount of Assisted Living communities so I knew exactly what to look for and ask. To sum it up, Savannah Grand was willing to accommodate my parents needs and their customer service was stellar! Savannah Grand of Amelia Island is the Very BEST Assisted Living Facility anywhere. My parents moved in during 2017 and they have been very happy and extremely well cared for. My Dad passed in 2019 and my Mom is doing fine. The staff is personal and everyone is treated like family. SG has been extremely careful and safe during this pandemic which has resulted in high marks and healthy residents. Savannah Grand is Terrific!

Ive visited residents at Savannah Grand many times and have always been impressed with their facility. The residents have always shared how happy they have been there. I can also brag on their Chef; the food is exceptional.

The staff here has gone far beyond the necessary to take care of my mom. They truly show love and concern for her and all the residents . They have done so many little extra things ... especially now with covid 19. Truly blessed knowing that she is well taken care of and loved!!

Sure, there were hiccups with initial paperwork , but the genuine care shown by all staff and admin is palpable. When I visit my mom, I am always warmly greeted and informed. Their calendar is full of events to entertain and appropriately challenge the residents. Mom loves the music, the art classes, and especially enjoys using her Savannah Grand dollars to competitively bid on items. Mom is thriving at Savannah Grand. My out-of-state siblings comment on how happy she sounds on the phone. Her room is large enough to comfortably accommodate a full size bed with bedside tables, she had two recliners, a larger dresser and a smaller kitchen table and chair in her room with a kitchen sink, counter, refrigerator, cabinets, and a large en-suite bathroom. She enjoys and outside patio, too. I am very satisfied Mom's activities, accommodations, and care at Savannah Grand on Amelia Island.

The facility is pleasant, clean, and homey. The staff and administration clearly care for the residents, as I have observed many meaningful interactions with them. As primary decision-maker for my mother, who needed different levels of care for over 14 years (living outside of Atlanta), I have observed quite a few facilities and a wide range of quality of care.

Although I personally do not have a connection to a resident at Savannah Grand, it is obvious even to an unbiased third-party like myself that the staff go above and beyond to care for their residents. Savannah Grand formed a partnership with the non-profit I work for, not out of necessity or for fundraising, but because they want to give the opportunity for all of their residents to feel as though they are part of a community. Through our partnership, I had the pleasure of meeting some of Savannah Grand's residents and watching their staff in action. The staff always reacted with professionalism, patience, and kindness. They continually provide a warm atmosphere, full of fun activities and an environment that encourages a well-rounded life. Not only is it welcoming, but the staff takes in every consideration to make sure their residents are safe, accommodated, well cared for, and that their privacy is respected.
