My mother has been living at The Saybrook for over three years. Moving from a house to an apartment was a big adjustment. Shes happy with her living space and very grateful for the welcoming, supportive community at The Saybrook. The staff has been terrific – cant praise them highly enough for how theyve handled everything during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I have been a facilities maintenance director in Connecticut for 30 years. Much background in SNFs from Cromwell to Niantic and between. My four plus years at the Saybrook at Haddam have been busy and fantastic ! The support from managers and coworkers is second to none. From my perspective, problems are solved, property is beautiful, building is gorgeous and in compliance . Most important, the residents are truly loved and cared for as if they were family, and they are ! The activities here are stimulating and creative , from music to car shows, we have it going on ! Dietary is strong also , some of the events I have seen are like food shows . Daily meals vary greatly and are delicious . Care staff are gifted and apply custom care to all our residents needs with the passion and love I can be proud and comfortable with. Our house keepers are the strongest teem I have ever had ! They have really stepped up to the plate with all thats going on with Covid-19 and have made things as safe as could be. I can go on and on , Barry Osalza

My 103 year old mother has been here since spring 2019 (with a summer off in Nantucket). We have been very impressed with the personalized service from all the staff, including professional care from the nurses. My mother had to recover from a fall and staff worked closely with my family to make sure that my mother got the care she needed to recover as much of her activities as possible in a safe and appropriate manner. The facility seems more like a Marriott than an assisted living facility. The food is surprisingly good, including wine at dinner. There are smaller private dining areas for family events, which we have used for than once. I could not imagine my mother at any other facility. I sleep well at night knowing my mother is safe and just five minutes away. The pool table is great too...

We moved our father here six months ago from Texas(where he had been for over 20 years), and could not be more pleased with The Saybrook. From the time I spent interviewing other facilities in the area to the whole move in process (after we chose The Saybrook), I can not think of a single thing that was not handled in a helpful and professional way. The staff here are kind and friendly, even though my father was not always cooperative or making an effort . It is a hard time and a big adjustment for him and the staff have been very understanding and helpful in getting him involved. Having him here and close by has been a big relief to all of us- and the wellness center here is alway up to date on any health issues and also provide great support in any area that has come up. I highly recommend The Saybrook for anyone considering this facility as an option for assisted living.

My father is doing very well with his move to this community. This was good move for him, and his needs. I do feel comfortable with his move to this facility. This is beautiful, and they do a great job with cleanliness around the community. The staff is very helpful, and the administration is very helpful as well. He is pleased with the meals they provide. They have two wonderful activities directors in this facility, and they provide wonderful activities for the residents. We are pleased with everything they have done for our family, and I would definitely recommend this community.
