I visited the community, Friendly stuff and residents. Very clean, and good size units. I'm glad we picked this community for my parents.
September 2024
Excellent place to be! My wife and have lived here since July 2023, and we have no complaints; the staff is caring, residents watch out for each other, we feel that we have our forever home.
September 2024
They have been so kind and my mom has done so well here. I was wondering if she would ever get back to where she was previous to a surgery and she has not only made a recovery but enjoys Harvard Square so much! Thank you so much Harvard Square for giving me peace of mind again!

Harvard square is one of the best place for seniors. The stuff is caring ,friendly and the community makes the residents feel like their home.
August 2024
Harvard Square is a wonderful place to be. It's feels like a whole big family here.

Razika is amazing! She welcomed me and my mom who is the resident in assisted living and has taken care of all of our needs and wants. Th facility has a wonderful nursing director - Kendra - who is great to everyone and so professional and experienced. Mary Beth at the front desk area knows everyone and everything and is just the friendliest. The Executive Director - don't know him - he never looks up and never smiles or speaks to anyone. Seems completely unapproachable but maybe that is ok. Whenever he sees us he never speaks or introduces himself but I guess he isn't really needed by anyone it seems. Food is good! My mom is very happy here and I recommend it this place.

Friendly residents and staff, Delicious Food and Beverages!

Harvard Square is a great community with friendly residents and stuff. They make you feel comfortable. Highly recommended.

My wife and I lived in assisted living for a year. The staff is superb. They are friendly and helpful: I give them 3 stars instead of 5 because the food and food service is terrible: Food is served warm at best. The taste is average. The variety was limited… It's even worse if you have to eat in your room. Food is served cold and was usually incorrect or incomplete. I spoke with management about this more times than I can count. I got lip service but nothing ever really changed.

My mother was a memory care resident at HS for the last few months of life. She lived in three facilities and two states in that her year. HS is the only facility I would consider placing her if I (and she) had it to do over again. The care staff on the memory care side are simply exceptional. Among other things, they got my mother to shower regularly, which hadn't been a habit for a long time. It was really moving to see how appreciative my mother was with the care staff - the only place I saw her act that way. Seeing your loved one feel valued and comfortable is priceless and not so common. I had some struggles with the management of the facility, both on the memory care side and the overall administration. The memory care director was very hard to reach (hopefully that's been addressed) and not always a reliable purveyor of information. The weekly menus were rarely changed out. The corporate dietitian didn't seem to know or really think about how to prepare healthy and tasty meals for vegetarians. There were issues with billing and their communication with hospice. From my perspective, the administration didn't perform at the level of the caregivers, nor with as much empathy. I'm fairness, those are all hard jobs. Those issues were relatively minor compared to the rewards of seeing your loved one at ease, even laughing. The whole facility is very walkable, with abundant natural light, a garden area, and a very charming atmosphere. The other residents were everywhere on the cognitive map, many were very friendly and receptive, and most seemed to spend the bulk of their time outside their rooms (which says a lot). HS has my deepest gratitude. I highly recommend the memory care side for all the reasons that matter.

My mother has been an AL resident at HS for almost a year. Recently I was able to stay with her for an extended period at the facility. The staff is very nice and responsive. The residents are very welcoming and collegial. The environment is pleasant and the food is well prepared and served. There are things to improve in every community. Overall I thought HS is doing a good job of running the facility and caring for its residents.
April 2024
Management is constantly changing, no one follows up on maintenance issues like the constantly out of service elevators, AC is turned off in the winter and rooms are often over 80 in the winter even with the apartments heat turned off because heat in the main building is constantly on. The posted menu isn't followed or food runs out. Servings are ridiculously small, today the option was chicken nuggets or hot dog for lunch. On two occasions the wait for transport from a doctors appointment was over 3 hours. Recently renovated but it's lipstick on a pig your parents and loved ones deserve better and better places exist keep looking. UPDATE 4/19/2024 - There has been much improvement in meal quality and consistency. Leadership is responding to items about temperature and have managed expectations for my parents in the building around that. The current leadership team has been responsive. They have included a happy hour on the weekend and family of residents can enjoy and engage with others, it has helped to build community and makes the place seem "younger". My Dad had to go to a physical rehab facility for the last month and one of the leaders (Rick) has visited him twice now to check on him and has brought him treats. My parents and my own experience has improved greatly with recent follow through of the new leaders (this is independent).

Harvard Square is an absolutely amazing community that has built a safe space for our loved ones to enjoy their twilight years. Carly Jordan, the ED, is terrific and communicates very well. She looks after all her residents as they were her parents and grandparents.
September 2022
The staff seems to really care for their residents! My aunt sure seems to appreciate them!
July 2022
Razika, our coordinator, deserves a raise! Exemplary representation of the community! Everyone is friendly, helpful and quick to serve. However, Razika's bubbly personality and sincere empathy for our situation is what peeked our interest in Harvard Square! Thank you Razika!

February 2022
Harvard Square is a great community. Staff love the residents and go above and beyond for them. Great community to be part of.
January 2022
Both of my parents stayed here. Together they were in the assisted living. When my father passed we had to move my mom to the memory care side. We worked with the team through the pandemic and helped them to develop plans to communicate with our family. Carly Jordan was instrumental in making our mother's stay more comfortable. As she brought on additional services for her residents, she instilled faith and trust for the families. It was a difficult time to go through and Carly made us feel secure that Mom was being taken care of. Thank you all...
January 2022
This place is amazing and so much better than I had expected with memory care. They are pet-friendly, have on-site nursing, allow some alcohol, and the staff is very accommodating. Location is convenient and it's actually one of the more affordable options in the area. Moving a parent to assisted living is stressful, but Carly Jordan made it as smooth and friendly as possible.
January 2022
Harvard Square is amazing! They treat residents like family. We chose HS because of the cleanliness of the facility, the family atmosphere and the fabulous staff!!! They have been able to cater to the specific and unique needs of my family member in a loving and compassionate way. The ED, Carly Jordan, is absolutely the BEST!!! I could not go through this journey without her wisdom and guidance.

I believe that there are facilities and residential settings available for all Senior and those who have a Disability lifestyle to provide continuity to each individual. Harvard Square residents that I have seen active within and who I visit seems to be the perfect setting for these individuals.

It is with heartfelt thankfulness, that I submit this 5-star rating for the Harvard Square Memory Care facility, its staff and most importantly, the loving and dedicated care they provided my father. From our initial tour with Grace, to the tireless advocacy by the Memory Care manager, Maria Blaylock, to the unfettered joyfulness in caring for my father as exhibited by caregivers Abby and Francis, Harvard Square Memory Care was the best place for my dad.Beyond its inviting, spacious architecture, Harvard Square Memory Care provided an enriching program of activities, that engaged my father in a moment-by-moment fashion. My dad loved the sing-alongs, but he also enjoyed the outings to places like the Royal Gorge and a local high school as part of a Veterans Day awareness program. There was bowling, trivia games, bean bag tosses, and water color painting. Meals were always on cloth table cloths and featured plentiful, nutritious food. This years Christmas party featured a gift exchange, special Christmas photos in frames for each resident, and yummy appetizers. But the overwhelmingly most important attribute of my 5-star rating is the staff. They are the ones who cared for Dale on a day-by-day basis. They helped him dress, find his walker, know when to go to dinner, and how to get to his room, all without the slightest edge of impatience for these seemingly mundane tasks—ones that you and I take for granted. Their care was genuine, sensitive, and always respectful.Of course, a great staff is the result of great leadership. For Harvard Square Memory Care this leadership came from Maria Blaylock, manager. Her staff refer to her as mama because of the authentic, deeply human way she teaches and leads—always a gentle touch, a kind tone, and an encouraging word. Maria tirelessly advocated for her residents and staff, resulting in a happy mix of clientele and people dedicated to helping those in need of memory care.

The staff here is good, however when my grandmother lived here with my grandfather, he was really sick and my grandmother said to come check on him every once in a while. But they never came to check on him. Soon he sadly passed away. Overall, Im rating a 3 star out of 5

I love Harvard Square because of the great people who work there like Linda and Marybeth and sooo many others! God bless them for the great care they take of my family! They are amazing!
February 2020
From a workers perspective?Understaffed, you may have up to more than 20 residents to yourself, a whole floor, not everyone is completely dependent for help but you still have to check and make sure theyre okay on top of having to make beds and some low level of housekeeping, often makes it hard to keep up with charting.
January 2020
Visiting friend weekly in the evening in memory care. The staff is very caring, engaging and loving. The facility is clean and comfortable.
January 2020
My father has been in assisted living at Harvard Square for almost 7 years now. We are both very pleased we made the choice to have him live here (I looked at about 5 places). Positives: very friendly and down-to-earth (MaryBeth at the front desk is absolutely awesome!); excellent food (no set hours, which is a big plus and different from many other retirement homes); take great care of my dad (he has really complicated medicines and they handle it just fine); good value for the cost. Negatives: Really nothing major. Any time we have a problem, we bring it up and its usually resolved relatively quickly (thank you MaryBeth).

My mother lived at Harvard Square for two years. She absolutely loved living there! When she was away she always said she wanted to go home, which meant Harvard Square. Our family is truly grateful for the love and wonderful care she received at Harvard Square. We would highly recommend Harvard to all our friends and family! My father visited my mother every day and was treated like family by the staff at Harvard Square … it is a truly inclusive and supportive environment.Linda, the Director of Resident Activities, is absolutely fantastic! She made our family truly feel at home and always had a bright smile and big hug for everyone! Linda is an example of the wonderful people that cared for our Mom while she lived at Harvard … our family is truly going to miss seeing Linda and the rest of the Harvard Square staff. The only reason my mother moved was that her health deteriorated to the point that the care she needed was beyond the capability at Harvard. Otherwise we would still be there!

My mother is a resident here, and she really enjoys the people living there and the people working there. But the food has gotten so bad we are actually contemplating moving her! Food is cold, food is not cooked sufficiently, and sometimes so spicy the residents cant eat it. Staff is nice and very helpful. Harvard Square does offer a variety of activities and outings.
October 2017
Warm and friendly at a best price!
January 2017
The staff at Harvard Square really make this place a wonderful place to live! They are all so compassionate, kind and knowledgeable and go above and beyond for their patients. RGA Home Health has been recommending Harvard square to our patients for over 9 years and will continue to do so because their facility & staff have always been top notch! Also, we are very impressed with the amount of community outreach they do like the 9 News Health Fair and golf tournaments that they do for the Alzheimers Association!

Best move we could have made for Mom. Shes thriving! She lived in another retirement community before moving here in August 2014 - she didnt want to leave her room even to eat. The staff is awesome! I pop in at all hours of the day and have NEVER seen any of the staff in a bad mood. Everyone has a smile on their face, and she feels safe. She has even commented about how it IS home. LOVE IT!

My mother is at this facility and I have to echo the previous posters comments. Its a bit older building but it is well kept. The staff is wonderfully friendly, the restaurant food is good and there are lots of activities all day every day. There is a library, exercise room, spa, hair dresser, large common area. Highly recommended.
