I moved in The Goldton at Athens in April of 2021 after much research of other local facilities. Shannon Oakley was very significant in my decision because of all of the texts, messages and phone calls she did for me. When I walked through the door and saw “Welcome Home” I knew I was! I have not regretted my decision and am very happy to be here.

My Momma moved here in September 2020. As everyone knows 2020 was a crazy and scary time. Traditions done everything to keep all it’s residents safe and had planned in house activities to pass the time. My Momma has enjoyed living here. I have peace of mind that all her needs are being met. I highly recommend Traditions of Athens!

Beautiful building very clean, the Residents were engaged in activities, the Smells from the Kitchen were heavenly .. Only thing that bothered me was the Lady who showed us around cant remember her name it was different (she stated she was the business office manager ) She had on some extremely tight legging type pants and a top that wasnt long enough to cover her bottom, My dad commented to meI didnt think business folk dressed like that .. She really shouldnt wear that in a business where its mostly elderly people.

The environment is great. The food is great. Residents are always doing something fun. The entire staff is happy and attentive. This an excellent place to live for an aging relative.

With your first step into the building you feel a sense of home. Every person you meet has a genuine smile staff and residents alike. Theres always laughter and stories . As an employee of traditions of Athens I love being here watching my residents enjoy there days. They play game that just tickle me and you realize there using cognitive skills in every game . Im in awe everyday that this facility is here for our residents

My mom Katherine Horton(John writing here) has been there a year or so. The staff has been great, the activities great, the layout reminds me of a hotel on the beach-beautiful front porch area to enjoy the outdoors..I was concerned about her going to assisted living, but my fears have gone away as I have seen her here.
