Auburn Heights Retirement Community – Reviews
Today marks four years that Mom has lived in the Auburn Heights Retirement Residence community. On her first day there, Mom commented “I love it”. Mom still comments the same way today four years later. Over the years, Mom has frequently used the pool and her patio. These were two of her requests when we were looking for the best place for Mom to live and she has taken advantage of both. Mom has also frequently participated in the many activities that occur in the community each month. Our family is also is very happy with the Auburn Heights Retirement Residence. As Mom has moved from her early 80’s to her mid 80’s we have been able to increase her care to help maintain her quality of life.
I am lucky to experience the incredible activities and staff at Auburn Heights with a good friend and client that I visit regularly. She takes part in the Blossom group which has well organized, energetic and inclusive programs. There are often many laughs being had at the engaging and entertaining programs. Staff, Denise and Michelle, have a wonderful way of making each program fun, welcoming and resident focused! Thank you!!!
Auburn Heights is an excellent retirement residence. My mother is safe and happy at Auburn, I don’t worry about her for one minute. The staff are truly unbelievable, totally accommodating, very transparent; great food, lots of super activities, live music, very nice suites, lovely dining room…in house very good doctors, dental hygienist…Feel free to contact me with any questions…All the best with doing the very best for your parents.
My wife stayed at Auburn Heights in late November for a week of respite care. They were very accommodating to her care needs and provided the help she needed to make her stay as enjoyable as possible. This was her first time in a care facility so I was a little concerned about how she would adjust but, thanks to the wonderful staff and the many activities available, she absolutely loved it. I am planning another stay for her at Auburn Heights in early February.
We chose Auburn Heights based on the strong sense of community; one with a vibrant positive energy. The whole family has been very well supported during the transition.
Staff are so caring and accommodating with my parents. From planning the move to integrating into the community, the process is seamless. Auburn Heights retirement Residence is so clean, warm, and inviting, that it feels like home. A well deserved five stars!
We have appreciated the welcoming nature and friendliness of everyone at Auburn Heights!
Auburn was the best choice I made for my Mother who resided there for 4 years. The staff went beyond caring for her both mentally and physically. They were also very supportive for me as well .
Auburn Bay was the facility I chose for my mom because it had a combination of assisted living and memory care. My mom was still capable of some autonomy, but would eventually need the memory care. This facility also allows cats to be kept by the owners, as long as they are able to take care of the animals. I think that this eases the transition into care for some individuals.Like many whom are living alone with the onset of dementia, my mom had become overly thin from forgetting to eat or not wanting to. She has gained back quite a bit of weight since coming to Auburn Bay and is now looking healthier. I am grateful for that.
Grateful that my Dad has such caring staff to help him! We are so blessed for all of Kellys help to answer questions for us! Everyone there is so wonderful!
My parents moved to Auburn in summer 2017. From day one, whether it be Front Desk staff, Bus Drivers, Homecare, Melinda who cleans their suite, even maintenance and the dining room staff made them feel welcome and treated them like it was their own parents. My parents loved when a staff member would just pop in for a few minutes to say hi and check in on them and grab a candy here and there. When my dad passed away last year, the compassion that was shown to our family will always stay with us. This still continues with my mom. She is so happy where she is and its such a relief to our family that we know shes so well looked after by everyone at Auburn. My parents even recommended Auburn to their friends who ended up moving in.During COVID lockdowns, it was so hard on all the residents but the staff went beyond to keep them safe. My mom loved the afternoon goody wagon that stopped by. Thank you Auburn.
My Mother has been a resident since 2015 of the Memory Care floorShe is happier since she moved there than she was for several years alone in her own homeThrough the activities specifically set for dementia care they have brought her out of her shell . It is wonderful to see my Mother smiling againThey really have made a difference in her life for which Im grateful
Auburn Heights front line staff members are exemplary care-givers. Their warmth and compassion with Mom is comforting to our family, in that we have been unable to visit much during this pandemic. We have also been impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism of the administrative staff members.
Both of my parents moved into Auburn Heights a couple of years ago. They thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities that were offered with the other residents as it kept them socially active and vital. As my dads health started to deteriorate, we moved them to the 2nd floor where additional medical care services are offered. Although my dad has now passed, his last year was made more comfortable by the excellent care he received, and my mom worried less as she had a team to help take care of him. Since his passing, my mom has now moved back into the main part of the residence. The care and compassion shes received from the staff as she starts this new life chapter has been amazing! From the outside, my family and I are so grateful for the care and dedication thats been the standard practice of Auburn Heights staff, and especially for the extensive precautions taken to protect the residents from Covid thru this pandemic. None of it has been easy for anyone, but theyve taken many extra steps to ensure the comfort, safety and well-being throughout. Im so glad we were able to move them here - its been such a blessing to not have to worry if the day-to-day needs are being met and with the medical staff right there, including a doctor who does house calls, we know my mom will be happy and safe. I would have no hesitation in recommending Auburn Heights to anyone looking for a clean, safe, fun place for their loved one(s).
My mom loves her home at Auburn Heights. The staff are so kind to her. Home care staff are thoughtful and respectful. Her suite is spotless thanks to Melinda. Melinda and other staff members also check in on her once in a while and makes mom feel special. Maintenance is quick thanks to Garfield. Health issues are addressed through medical or Homecare. Dr. Gopie is knowledgeable of geriatric issues and hes thoughtful and generous with his time during appointments. When we were visiting we are welcomed with friendliness by front desk staff. We were very impressed by the way Auburn Heights dealt with Covid. They were very professional and extremely caring to try to keep the cases down. Mom is comfortable and well cared for at Auburn Heights. She is happy.
The staff at Auburn Retirement Residence and Resident Doctor, Dr. Ajayson Gopie, are outstanding at their jobs. All staff members are kind, compassionate and very accommodating!
Just in the process of starting to look for a place for my parents to call home and I am overallvery impressed with the facility and staff at the Auburn Heights residence.
Auburn Heights has turned out to be everything I was looking for. Amenities include excellent meals, housekeeping, comfortable suite, exercise room, pool, concrete and steel building, etc. Great location with shopping nearby and easy access to the Deerfoot and Ring Road. Management are competent, friendly and accessible, staff are great. Numerous activities are available and they encouraged me to put up an antenna to continue my ham radio hobby as other residents may be interested. The virus situation has been handled well - we are clear now and vaccinations are scheduled.
To Corey Baiton and the friendly staff at Auburn Heights. Thank you all very much for the kindness and compassion that is very evident in all of you. My folks moved in December 7, 2020, normally a very busy time of the year. Add Covid-19 into the mix and any number of things could have gone sideways. You all made it EASY and SEEMLESS! My Parents are settling in now and are adjusting to a new chapter of their lives, unfolding every day through your kindness and compassion. Thank you so very much!! The world needs more people like all of you!! Kind Regards, Kurt
After searching for a few months for a spot for my father in law we landed on Aurburn heights. The place was the front runner by far. The staff was very friendly, the facilities were clean and my father in law will be very comfortable. Huge thank you to Cory for being so patient with all our questions.
I love sharing and doing activities with the residents at Auburn Heights.
Ive been researching places for my aunt and auburn heights was at the top of our list. She loves it here, the community is clean, the staff is friendly, and the suites are well appointed. My aunt is very comfortable here.
My mom and dad have lived here now for over a year. We always thought this place was amazing. Through the trying times we have been faced over the last few months I couldnt think of a better place that my loved ones could be living in. The staff here has gone above and beyond.
I found Auburn Heights for my elderly Mother a few months ago, as she was looking for an age care facility to move in to. She moved in to Auburn Heights at the end of December and has thoroughly enjoyed her time there so far. The staff at the facility are nothing short of remarkable. My Mom and I are still getting to know all of the staff, but right from the start José, who works at the front reception and Cory, who is the Lifestyle Director greeted us with open arms. Cory and José made us feel so incredibly welcome and were always available to help out, suport and answer any questions that we had. I know my Mom will flourish here and enjoy living in this beautiful retirement residence.
I recently took a tour of this facility as I begin my search to find a residence for an elderly family member. I was very impressed with Auburn Bay Heights. The residence is beautiful, well maintained and the staff are welcoming and incredibly caring. I would absolutely recommend anyone looking for a residence for loved ones, to consider Auburn Bay Heights.
My 86 year old father-in-law moved into Auburn Heights this past October when he realized it was just getting too hard to manage by himself in his home. Well hes never looked back and his health has improved with all his needs being taken care of. It is a beautiful residence with excellent staff and I hope to be at a place so nice when I am at that stage of life. They managed the recent Covid outbreak wonderfully and they have our full confidence.
Beautiful property with exceptional facilities. Each and every staff member has been truly amazing going above and beyond. Happy our parents choose to live here.
I want to take a moment to recognize the kindness and hard work being done by the management and staff at Auburn. We have recently moved our mother into Auburn. This was not an easy decision and, during a global pandemic it is a difficult and complicated time to make this move. We appreciate the kindness, patience and hard work everyone has shown to us. They were very accommodating with use while we moved mom into her suite. Everyone has been kind and patient, helping her feel welcome and safe and they have spent time with us to help us to understand the transition. Stay calm and keep smiling.
You will be repeatedly assured that your loved one can age in place here -- this is NOT the case. Not a suitable choice for more complex needs -- an AHS PUBLIC facility with established connections to AHS specialty teams would be more appropriate. Auburn Heights needs to realize its limitations: lack of leadership (multiple leadership changes in 2019, 2020), disconnect between Management and front line staff, poor communication, lack of critical thinking and follow-through. 3 star rating takes into consideration the great care experienced while in Assisted Living. Zero stars for blatant lack of knowledge and inaction re: end of life, complex care management. Posted by a Registered Nurse.
